Renegade Squadron framerate improving, says game dev

The framerate, he attributes, was shaky due to an older build of the game. It has since been optimized and now delivers a steady rate. As for the graphics, Rosser stuck a comparison shot of Battlefront II and Renegade Squadron side-by-side and the difference is obvious. The new title has a far more impressive draw distance and much smoother character models. However, the smoothing seems to have erased a lot of texture detail on the characters. It does look like an improvement, but we want to see the improvements in motion! Hopefully, the talented team at Rebellion will make good on their word.
[Thanks, Don!]

wait a minute...
I thought renegade squadron was based around movies 4,5 and 6. That screenshot has characters from the prequels!

It does look a lot better than BF2, my interest meter has swung a little towards it. Frame-rate is king for this kind of game, so I'll wait for some videos of the new build. Maybe I'll be getting one of those Special Edition PSPs with this bundled after all.

At this point the graphics are en-par with the PS2 version of Battlefront . Nice , but even if only the draw distance and framerate doubles , and even if they would just add a few maps to bf2 this would be a must for me :D

jamma - perhaps there are unlockable characters for multiplayer.

Looks good to me. i personally didn't like battlefront 2 it looked messy compared to the first. though the psp one looks clean if not surpassing the look of bf2

I hope this helps to silence the nay sayers here including but not limited to Andrew. :)
This game is going to be fun!

jamma:
At the IGN blog, they mention that the single player campaign focuses on rebels/Empire, but Instant Action & Multiplayer has both that & Clone Wars content.
Thanks Nick! (and Andrew & Steve)

I played around with this briefly at San Diego Comic-con, and the framerate did seem okay, At least, it didn't seem laggy to me.
The Lucasarts employee I asked wasn't sure what speed the PSP was running at, though, but he was fairly sure it wasn't 333MHz.
