Is there still a chance for Landstalker PSP?

insertcredit found something interesting while checking out Climax's main website. Their site's picture map uses graphics that look an awful lot like an updated version of their famous title Landstalker. This of course leads them (and us as well) to wonder if this is a sign that they're still working on a PSP Landstalker. The game's website is still live, but it hasn't been updated in almost two years. Then again, Climax hasn't been doing a whole heck of a lot lately either way.

...I don't think I've heard of this game before. Was it announced a while ago?

In 2005, it was announced that Landstalker will be remade for the Sony PSP (PlayStation Portable). The release date is TBA for 2007. It has also been announced that the game will see a port to the Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console, but at an undisclosed date and no certainty which regions with see the release.-from Wikipedia
It seams tha the game is actually planned for the PSP :)

That'd be great. I loved LandStalker back on the SEGA Genesis days. I wouldn't mind an Alundra remake as well, since both games' lead characters and overall feel are so similar...
Anyway. I guess Climax is too busy finishing Silent Hill Origins yet to focus on Landstalker... maybe that's why we haven't heard any news regarding the game (Those guys are the ones making SH:O, right?)

There's definitely some anime-esque Landstalker images on the site, but that image looks nothing like Landstalker, and the creatures which appear when you scroll over the various options don't look like anything that features in the game.
The game was also going to stay true to the Mega Drive original's visual style (just in 3D), so the presence of the anime style visuals doesn't mean anything, unless they've completely overhauled the remake since we last saw it... and make it awful.

This was a great RPG on the Genesis so I hope this game does not get canned. Plus I would buy this game. So if this game gets remade that would be great. Plus with PSPFanboy talking about Landstalker there might be a better chance this game does not die out.

Seriously, this is my favorite action-RPG of all time. Ever. Ever, ever. I would kill a man to get this game on my PSP.
