Konami to announce new MGS projects at Leipzig
According to Play, Hideo Kojima has some surprises lined up for us at this month's Leipzig Gaming Convention. Not only will there be a playable Metal Gear Solid 4 on-hand, Konami has mentioned that they will be also be announcing new Metal Gear Solid projects from Kojima Studio. It's interesting to see that the franchise is staying with Kojima Studio, considering Hideo Kojima has said he will no longer have a hand in Metal Gear Solid after MGS4. But it's cool to hear that he'll still at least have an eye on the series.
Also, Kojima said he will be bringing a 'mystery guest' with him to the show. No hints were given at who this person would be, but the mind runs rampant with possibilities. Suda 51? David Hayter? Who knows! It would be awesome to see him pull a Jack Tretton and come out with a 7 foot tall Wookie. Snake vs Chewbacca -- exclusive on the PS3. (Hey, we can dream right?)

I guess this upcoming project will be multiplat... mgs4 is a ps3 exclusive and it might be the last konami exclusive for ps3..

Is Snake grabbing that gentleman in the... snake... in that screenshot?
Andy @ Aug 8th 2007 2:28PM
Isn't MGS4 the last one in the series?
Dahk @ Aug 8th 2007 2:35PM
LOL krazy ken.
Naw the article states its for the European crowd right?
I'm guessing... JEREMY CLARKSON! That would be awesome. For absolutely no reason.
Sorry I was watching Top Gear the other day, and the Polar Special was mind blowing.
Dahk @ Aug 8th 2007 2:38PM
@ Andy,
MGS4 IS the last one in the Metal Gear Solid series.
However, there is Metal Gear Online, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops+, and whatnot.
Technically "Metal Gear Solid" is based off of Solid Snake. So really, they COULD bring in Metal Gear back from the Nintendo days? Who knows. If any story is continuing, I'm betting its Raidens. Except he got stabbed several times fighting against vamp. o.0

The announcement will be something multi-plat. Konami seems eager to make money by throwing their games at every console that they will stick to from now on. It is a shame to see Hideo go, this last and most likely finest Metal Gear ever made, truly showed just how brilliant he really is.
Maybe they will make another Metal Gear Acid and throw it to the Xbots, or worse yet the allegedly incorrect HMV listings could be proven correct by Some Xbot showing up on stage. Would anyone really be surprised if they said that this much like almost every other game is only a timed exclusive?

Watch them announce a few upcoming MG games multiplatform on PS3/360 and all of the sudden those that were crying foul on the MGS4 exclusivity act like they don't care about MGS4 anymore...

they should remake the nes games...those where mind-altering for the time. I mean what other nes game had you fighting in a mine field or had you pick an elevator to the roof that if you picked the wrong one you would die in an explosion (i cant remember if it was from a bomb or from an air raid...im thinking air raid from the end of first game) riding in the back of trucks...all the classic metal gear 1&2 gameplay would even be cool in they re-did the graphics in hd and made it a psn release instead of in a 3d remake and a blu-ray disc release

man i love MGS

I like how the picture is of Snake's new attack. There sure is a lot of awkward innuendo in these Metal Gear games...
sirpilf @ Aug 8th 2007 4:19PM
please not another MGS game, we already got MGS4 and MGO coming, i hope they are talking about the MGS movie with one of the actors or something.
remakes of the MG or MG2 games would be cool too but I doubt it.

Metal Gear Solid 4: substance?
Mr Khan @ Aug 8th 2007 4:27PM
Suda 51 would be my bet, as they're supposed to be collaberating on some kind of Wii title
I would bet something multiplatform, something for Wii, and a sequel to Portable Ops
Bored @ Aug 8th 2007 5:25PM
They'll probably just announce Metal Gear Online to be multiplatform.
I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.
Consolcwby @ Aug 8th 2007 9:00PM
I wonder if the announcements will be:
1) Metal Gear 1 or 2 for the VC
2) MGS3 for the 360
3) A Solid Snake mini game collection for the Wii
4) Metal Gear Jenga for the Wii... a dark horse, to be sure!
...as long as Kojima just finishes MGS4 - I'll be happy! (They will probably announce the Metal Gear Collection for North America too!) =D

un1qu3 n3wy0rk @ Aug 9th 2007 9:03AM
New game, Metal Gear Solid 4 for the Xbox 360
Special guest, Bill Gates or Don Mattrick (president of Microsoft's game division).
Hatchetforce @ Aug 8th 2007 10:18PM
What the hell? Are people allowed just to make crap up now and everyone quotes it as news? Where is their source that Kojima or Konami has a new game in the MGS series coming. Last time I checked, guest does not equal new game.
This just in, Kojima has completed MGS5 and 6 already.
DjDATZ @ Aug 9th 2007 3:45PM
+1 un1qu3 n3wy0rk
MSG is coming to the 360. The special guest will be some Microsoft Reputable Personality.
