New Aliens vs Predator title coming to the PSP?

CVG has a juicy rumor that the developers of the original Aliens vs Predator for the PC are working on a new AvP title to coincide with the upcoming movie. The original title was an incredibly entertaining FPS with fun multiplayer gameplay and an atmospheric single-player line, though the PSP version will be a third-person shooter.

When contacted for confirmation, the development company, Rebellion declined to comment other than, "We're happy to be working with Sierra, but can't comment just yet in any more detail."

CVG seems to think we'll get official word of the game soon though, so check back here soon for more info on hot Alien on other-type-of-alien combat.

Nice! And 3rd person?? Cool.... this could be great... just have to see how Rebellion deals with that OTHER licensed property game they have coming out (not)soon enough....

Oh this is the Best News Ive heard in a while! I sure hope it comes to pass. I played both AVP and AVP2 & loved them both! FPS would be funner but a 3rd person would be like Next Gen Alien Breed to me.

Is this going to be a stand up fight sir, or just another bug hunt????

The first AvP game for the PC was one of the freakiest games I've ever played. At least the human scenario was. The second AvP didn't really live up to the first game. If they could make a PSP AvP similar to the first PC game, that would be awsome. Randomly spawning aliens, extremely limited ammo, no saves or checkpoints in levels, and that perfect sense of "DEARGODIMALONEWITHFREAKINXENOMORPHSOHGODOHGODOHGOD!"

OMG this far outbeats any movie based game that I want . Alien is my fav. A/A movie to date :D

I'd hit that! I ripped Alien Resurrection to an EBOOT, but because the PSP doesn't let you use analogue control with emulation I couldn't get a control scheme that worked, which is a shame, as it's a scary game. A real PSP Alien game would be fantastic.

I ripped my Aliens R game as well, are you saying your analog nub does not work at all? On mine it is used for strafing, the directional buttons for movement.
Its harder to play but it still looks pretty darn sharo on the PSP.

Sony needs to release an adapter for the PSP that allows you to plug in your PSX controller for the PSX games, and I don't want to hear that takes away from portability. I play my PSP way more at home anyways, it's just a total bonus to play it anywhere else as well.
