Devil May Cry 4 being shown off at Leipzig

Capcom are announcing that the PlayStation 3 version of Devil May Cry 4 will be playable at the Leipzig Game Conference next week. Visitors will be able to play as Nero, a new character to the series, and experience his "Devil Bringer arm and the immensely powerful attacks and non-stop combo techniques it delivers." The game is scheduled for a winter release this year, along with 90% of all yet to be released console games. We've said it before and we'll say it again; this is going to be an expensive Christmas.

We'll be there to give your our impressions of the game direct from the Leipzig Game Conference.

i dont care i love the devil may cry series and even if capcom brought it to 360 i enjoy the fact that its out there for all to enjoy. Bring the demo to the PSN store soon capcom. not every body likes the style but devil may cry is one of the few games that make the game hard but still allow you to feel powerful. Devil may cry series PSN download please for all to enjoy once more.

we still get the game? is it really such a powerful betrayal? as if capcom pulled a brutus on the caesar that is sony?

big deal. want to let know capcom where it's at? BUY THE GAME FOR THE PS3 and let them know where the stronger sales are coming from. draw focus to the PS3. maybe it might become the lead platform to develop for in future games, from which ports will be taken from. but you have to let the publishers know ;p

then again... we still need market penetration greater than what we have now.

devil may cry was the first game i got for my ps2 (that and mgs2, damn that was a good system) and it was the coolest game i had ever played then so i am definitely giving this one a try as long as its like 1 and 3 and not 2, am i rite?

Boycott it because these games blow, not because of Capcom. You think this game is really going to sell on the 360? I highly doubt it. These games seem like they're made for 15 year olds.

Were screaming boycott because Capcom spread this "we want everyone to enjoy our games" bullshit, and then keep games like Lost Planet ect. exclusive.

We must boycott this game to train Capcom. When a dog misbehaves, we remove the bone and say, "no, bad dog." Once the dog behaves, we'll toss it a bone. What Capcom did is almost like a wife saying, "Honey, we're going to stay married, but I think I'm going to live and sleep with your former best friend because he's making more money than you. He'll take better care of me, but I'll still take whatever money you can give me. But don't worry, once you start earning more money, I'll come back to you and only you. I have to look after myself, you know. After all, isn't this marriage all about me?" If the xbox360 dies and Capcom wants to return to Sony, it'll be funny if no one everyone boycotts their games. He how infidelity pays off.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Motorstorm are good enough for me at the moment. Considering that Killzone 2, MGS4, Heavenly Sword, Grand Turismo 5, and (possibly LAIR), and Call of Duty 4 are coming out eventually, there really isn't a shortage of good games to require a purchase of DMC. I've never played DMC and could care less if I'm missing out. I'll borrow the game, but I won't buy it.

If you do not like what someone has done to you, you shouldn't encourage that person by giving him or her money. Unfortunately, unless all the PS3 owners can, in unison, refuse loudly to buy DMC4, Capcom will never hear the message. But if Gamepro and IGN start to report that DMC sales are nonexistent on the PS3, I think Capcom will reconsider their infidelity next time. But there's apparently no way to convince everyone and to coordinate the boycott. All I can do is play my part and refuse to purcahse DMC and hope you all will too.

DMC is no longer so important now. There are effectively 4 leading games in this genre of which 2 (Heavenly and GoW) are PS3 exclusives and the other 2 (DMC and Ninja Gaiden) are multi-platform.

I'll be picking this game up, for the XBox 360. I've decided that any multi-platform releases will be bought for the 360. The only games I am buying for PS3 are going to be exclusives. Why you ask? Look at Madden 08. Heavenly Sword pissed me off because that is a garbage game. I am hearing Lair isn't that great either, which pisses me off also. It wouldn't be so bad if I used the PS3 for Blu-Ray movies, but I already have a stand-alone Blu-Ray player. :S So whatever. Until games get markedly better on the PS3, I am only buying games for it that I can't get on 360.

Oh, and just a thought, calling for a boycott is the stupidest thing you can do. Think about it, DMC4 gets released for both systems, but the PS3 owners boycott. Capcom looks at the sales figures, and sees that hmmm, XBox 360 owners bought 1.5 million copies, but PS3 owners only bought 100,000. That in turn tells Capcom that PS3 really isn't viable, so future efforts get concentrated onto the 360. The best thing you could do if you want Capcom games on the PS3 is to go out and buy the games Capcom is offering currently and in the near future. This way they see that the PS3 is indeed a viable platform.

Unfortunately boycotting will only STOP capcom from making future games for the PS3 and that is the exact opposite of what the PS3 needs now... So boycotting only HURTS the PS3, which sucks because I too would like to teach these backstabbing companies a lesson, but boycotting isnt the way...

PS- except Madden, boycott that shit, EA are bastards, how dare they make more lazy ports, BS...

Come on guys, don't boycott. PS3 users will likely get the superior version of this game because Capcom has been working on it the longest-- aout 2 years in fact. Also @ James, more developers are starting to use the PS3 as their lead platform so in time you will start seeing non-shoddy versions of PS3 games that are multiplatform. For example, please see Dark Sector, Sega Rally Revo, and Burnout Paradise to name a few.

im sorry buy i disagree with you lost planet wasnt all that great. it was good but not a must buy. why dont you save up the money you didnt use boycotting devs to buy a 360 when there reliable.every game that was exclusive on the 360 second installments (accept for GoW2) will be present on the PS3, condemned 2(confirmed), saints row 2(confirmed), dead rising 2(not in development) but you get the idea. Capcom is staying true to there words, they have so many games in development why worry about the past and ports. if you like lost planet so much buy it for the PC.

as much as I love DMC series, if the PS3 version is WORSE than the xbox version. (we all know Capcom's sleeping with Microsoft), then I will boycott the game.

the game should be a PS3 game first and xbox second, there's NO WAY it should run better on xbox. We will know where Capcom stands here.
