Eidos unveils Conflict: Denied Ops, an FPS full of political hotspots

The premise to Denied Ops is this: sometimes the US Government can't afford to publicly associate themselves with an operation -- thus a special force is dispatched (you). Gameplay plans to focus on two-man tactics, so expect an extensive co-op mode to really make the game worthwhile (online co-op would be excellent, too). In addition to this, there are going to be highly destructible environments to create a new depth to undertaking any one objective -- it's being toted as "Hollywood Action". Sounds good. We'll keep you up to date, since the game isn't shipping until Spring of '08.

LMAO right!! But when hasn't a game taken a concept from another game? It's like music nowadays hence the "REMIX" Oh well... You play games for the fun factor and hope that a few devs still can stimulate the creative cells a bit and create something new! Hopefully the same team that brought ICO and Shadow of the Collosus will create something... hmmmmm we can only hope eh?

In response to the last comment made ummm did you read the first part of the blog. It said, "Perhaps some of you have played previous iterations of Eidos' Conflict franchise. If you have, then the announcement of a new title should have you giddy as a schoolgirl." You obviously have no idea what an addicting and valuable game is. This Conflict series has brought new meaning to CO-OP play. Get a buddy, try out Conflict: Global Storm AKA Global Terror. Played and concurred it 7 times. And I work a regular job! It's honestly, amazing every time I play it. Talk about replay value. Play your way backwards in the Conflict series it doesn't matter, like Conflict: Vietnam for instance each one of the conflict games deliver every time. They haven't been known for their Best Selling Series games for nothing. Give it a try! I know my buddy and I are "giddy as a schoolgirl" Eidos & Pivital...We've been waiting for you to come out with another one. Can't wait!

Being a huge Conflict fan (played all of them through a LOT)...I've been following the Crossfire project name for over a year - Pivotal/Eidos --- it obviously was going to become a Conflict title..I was just waiting to find out the name.
Great games - as for the Army of Two ref...sure...both co-op shooters...but why complain? Thats two games...both will probably be quite good - I imagine CDO will be slightly more tactical. I'm stoked that I'll have two full games to play through co-op.
The Conflict premise has always been fantastic...they give you objectives, and a remotely linear level...but how you beat it is up to you. If you're out of anti-tank rockets, etc...you have to innovate to figure out how to blow it up (smoke grenades, sneak up, plant C4...run). They offer a lot of fluidity, as well as immensely fun co-op play. I'm stoked to say the least.
