Call of Duty 4 ready for action on November 5th
According to Joystiq, Activision has announced a simultaneous worldwide release for Call of Duty 4 on all platforms (PS3, 360, PC). The highly anticipated shooter from Infinity Ward will be released into the wild on November 5th, just before the start of the insane holiday release rush.
The developers of CoD4 recently confirmed that the PlayStation 3 version runs just as nicely as the other versions, at 60FPS with full anti-aliasing -- something sure to appease fans who have been burnt by certain half-assed ports. Unfortunately, we don't get to participate in the multiplayer beta, but at least we know we're getting a solid version of the game.
Now if they would just teach EA a thing or two about programming on the PS3 ...

It's already on my 'must have' list for the run up to Christmas.

PC? NOOOO When was that thrown into the works? Am I that out of touch!
Dammit now I have to pick.
Any one know if the PS3 version will have Mouse+Keyboard support?
Ahh who am I kidding, PC version will own the PS3/360 version.

A Worldwide release, how cool. They keep this up in November and my ass will broke well before Christmas. So far I have COD4, UT3, Assassin's Creed, Half Life 2, SingStar, Haze, Rockband, and Uncharted on my must buy list. COD4 will be getting purchased the day of release though, that plus UT3, and SingStar(the wife's a big karaoke fanatic). The others will be getting purchased a little while after release though.

@Don: I know what you mean, so many good games coming out - you know what the trolls will say about this? "Well, there's nothing I would want to play on a PS3 that isn't on MY machine! So, there is still NO GAMES for the PS3!" =/ Even when the PS3 library reaches 2000 titles, with MGS4, FF13, LBP, et al they will still say this. =D Funny when you think about it, isn't it?
For me, it's Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Rock Band, Haze, MGS4, FF13, Assasin's Creed, Killzone 2, LittleBig Planet, Soul Calibur, Tekken, Eye of Judgement, and Ratchet and Clank. Those are my must haves so far! And imagine, it's only the beginning! =D

Consol, You're right. That's the only argument that I ever hear from the 360 fanboys, "The 360 is the best because it has more games." By the end of this year the 360's past library will mean squat. By the way, my list only consisted of games that were must buys for the month of November. I'm totally with you on that Heavenly Sword, It's definately a midnight release date purchase for me. You know it's getting good with games when you have to use stategy while paying your bills.

For me it's (in no order) MGS4, GTA4, GT5, Killzone 2, COD4, The Orange Box, maybe Haze but COD4 and Killzone 2 just look better fun, oh and if Crysis comes to the PS3 i'm gonna get me somma that! I really like FPS (hence my name) but that's not all i like eg GT5, MGS4 and GTA4!

#5: Actually by the end of this year the PS3 is just warming up. Next year is when the monsters hit (MGS4 and FFXIII). We still have game diversity on our side with PSN games and PS Eye games as well. The X360 library appears to be one FPS after another.
