Devil May Cry 4: new trailer, new gameplay
We're jealous of Jem. At this very moment, he's drowning in a sea of new and upcoming games that we can only dream of playing. Devil May Cry 4, we're certain, is one of those games. Capcom released a new trailer to the German masses, as if gamers around the world weren't excited quite enough. Watch it here, squeal, and then download it in HD for more fun.

the gameplay is from the 360 version.
Cagalli @ Aug 23rd 2007 3:03PM
^ Yep, but they look exactly the same on both systems so it shouldn't matter.

Please tell me im not the only one who has lost completely interest in this series... honestly I can't even remember what the other ones were about. Maybe its just me, i don't know. Graphics don't even look that impressive.

Between Heavenly Sword and this, Capcom and kiss my ass goodbye.

#6: Your comment makes no sense. You talk like DMC4 and Heavenly Sword are both made by Capcom, and that they both suck. I assume you meant to say "capcom *can* kiss my ass goodbye".
Think you can clarify, since Capcom isn't involved with Heavenly Sword?
dancingtosirens @ Aug 23rd 2007 6:29PM
Too bad this is one of my most heavily anticipated titles of the year. Man, can't wait. Id take this over heavenly sword anyday

Ninja Gaiden Sigma is better than this, and NGS is good enough for me. I just cannot get bored with NGS no matter how many times I've beaten it. With NGS, DMC4 is just redundant and a waste of money that should be spend on MGS4, Grand Turismo 5, or Call of Duty 4. Nuff said.
I won't get DMC4 at all. Capcom should make this eclusively for the 360 for all I care. They can have it.

That black girl with the white hair (actually all the girls shown so far) do look hot though.
kingofwale @ Aug 23rd 2007 7:33PM
where's my DMC for PSP?
if this game runs better on xbox than on PS3. (due to certain "GTA4"-ish dealing under the table), Capcom can kiss my business goodbye.
Cagalli @ Aug 23rd 2007 7:48PM
Game isn't coming out until probably March 2008 now.

It looks like the gameplay lacks anti-aliasing.
Yet... I find this kind of attractive.
The resolution is so high, it's kinda neat to see every pixel being updated, watching the gears turn. And if you remember arcade games of yore, you could see every pixel (of course, if you looked to close, you saw all these tiny vertical red, green and blue lights).
The frame rate looks nice, you don't have the feeling that you're taxing the machine just by panning too quickly.
However, there is one spot where it pauses, and I don't like this, and I wonder if they intended it as an effect-- I can't imagine it's a bottleneck, from the looks of this game.
It's where he slashes, right when the sword makes the nice blu glow thingy, the frame stops, every time, for a fraction of a second.
That would look really cool in a live action movie that was taking cues from videogame processing. And no one has done that yet.
But in a game, it looks bad. If they want an effect when his sword meets it's target, don't pause the frame, create flash of light, or something. You could invert the colors for a fraction of a second. This would get old very quickly, so you could morph into it, quickly, and this would get old at a slower rate, now you can introduce some random variables to have various 'jittery/flashy' things that occur when he connects, but always keep them subtle, and sometimes it's not even the sword and it's target, it's the background, undulating and pulsating slowly, increasingly noticeable the more hits you leave.
Or something like that.
