GoW: Chains of Olympus delayed until Q1 2008 [Update]
Fresh from Leipzig, Sony has announced a delay for their highly anticipated title, God of War: Chains of Olympus. Originally expected to ship before Christmas as part of the holiday rush, the title has been pushed back until early 2008. Annoyingly, this comes less than three weeks after Ready at Dawn confirmed that God of War was on track for a holiday release.
No reason was given for the delay, but if they need more time to polish up Kratos' newest adventure -- it's worth waiting a couple more months. Plus we get a demo in September to keep us happy anyway, so it won't be an entirely Spartan-free Christmas.
[Update: Ready at Dawn responds: "I'm not really sure where this is coming from since we have not announced a date for God of War: Chains of Olympus for the North American marketplace yet. So I would say this falls into the rumor and speculation category."]

If tomb raider is any indication, that delay ensures quality, I will be more than happy to wait.
can't say I am not disappointed though...

CURSES!!!!
Oh well if all goes as scheduled I'll still have Silent Hill Origins in the fall :)

$ony is afraid that the title will be pirated because of the unbricker program that allows users to run custom firmware. Sony is losing the battle so they need more time to find some method to protect the game. HAHA

I expected this to happen. It just didn't feel like the game was coming out until later.

I agree - no surprise, and given that ever screen that comes out looks better than the one before, let them take their time and deliver a quality product!
Kspraydad @ Aug 23rd 2007 4:51PM
Yeah Mikz...pirating is funny.
There goes my Kratos Kristmas. :(

$ony wanted it delayed so they could put the 3,6 update since it hasn't been cracked yet, That way they have our PSPs only doing what they want, Just my 2 cents,

Are you serious? As previously stated its gotta be Sony's doing... I bet RAD would have released it...
Guess ill just have to get my Spartan fix elsewhere....via Halo 3.

Is there any way to still get a UMD demo of GOW: COO? Will it be downloadable via PS3?
Random1448 @ Aug 23rd 2007 6:58PM
meh, I kinda saw this commin'
junior008 @ Aug 23rd 2007 7:27PM
the reason it was delayed was because of the 3.50 update with the 333mhz unlocked
junior008 @ Aug 23rd 2007 7:35PM
RAD wanted to change the game so it can use the full 333mhz. that was why it was delayed
farfisa @ Aug 23rd 2007 10:10PM
Well, whatever the reason, it's pretty disappointing.
This game's going to move systems too, so I guess getting it right is the most important thing, even more so than the piracy thing.
I wonder if they'll push back the demo (again?) too...

I dont think this is for the U.S. First off the only thing that basing there info on is game store site which have been very wrong before. Second Not too long ago Ready at Dawn said it was still on for holiday season.
