LittleBigPlanet cardboard robot boxing match
As the guy who sent this in to us said, if you can watch this without cracking a smile, you probably don't have a soul. Here's another example of the possibilities within LittleBigPlanet -- out of nothing, two players create large cardboard boxing fighters complete with stickers matching their personality (we love the hairy chest on the left fighter) and duel to the death! It's a really fun video and you get a good deal of insight into the workings of LBP. We should all train to be able to create such crazy ideas and beyond!
[Thanks, McComber!]

I am assuming GAMESPOT has the best coverage at this event?
Its too bad I refuse to go to GAMESPOT.
Awesome vids and thanks again for not making me visit GAMESPOT.
Darkdrium777 @ Aug 25th 2007 8:27PM
Hahaha amazing. Can`t wait to start doing crazy stuff like that! :D
BlackBeltJones @ Aug 25th 2007 8:40PM
I am really looking forward to this game.
Andy @ Aug 25th 2007 8:51PM
A game that creates a new genre; beach game. Because the sandbox is too confining for a game like this.
Dahk @ Aug 25th 2007 9:00PM
HAHA I love this video. That's absolutely awesome.
troll @ Aug 25th 2007 11:34PM

Popfrogs @ Aug 26th 2007 12:26AM

Simstim @ Aug 26th 2007 1:04AM
This game keeps getting better and better.
andres @ Aug 26th 2007 2:40AM
i was thinking. People have been stating (mostly on N4g) that this game is a system seller. I was just curious do you guys think downloadable games are system sellers?
Warhawk does not count for this topic since it will be on Disc
SpoBo @ Aug 26th 2007 4:00AM
andres It'll be available on Blu-Ray as well containing all the user created content yet up to that point. Or a selection of the better stuff. So I don't know what you are on about. And also, yes! A downloadable game can and will be a system seller. You know why? Because you have to have the system to play the game. Obviously :s Look at Geometry Wars for an example.
Great White Snark @ Aug 26th 2007 6:07AM
Looks a lot more entertaining than real-life robot boxing:

in reply to 6. It's a totally different style of game kid. Not to mention that Halo 3 looks just as dated as Halo 2 did when it came out and as dated as Halo 1 was when it was released. Console shooters will always be behind PC shooters in terms of design and gameplay. As far as LBP goes I can't wait. It's about time a company started utilizing the new hardware to create new gameplay ideas, not just prettier games. Graphics are the least important part of any game, we need more games like this on the next gen consoles. I don't mean in this genre, I mean games that are actually creative and furthing game design as a whole.
Waltezmo @ Aug 26th 2007 10:04AM
Sultan, are you retarded?
xenotype @ Aug 27th 2007 12:09AM
Sultan you retard, you're just as stupid as the guy who told me I had no soul, STOP DESCRIMINATING AGAINST SOULESS PEOPLE!
That gameplay clip just showed me how stupid the game looks, the whole idea of making cardboard box men fight each other on a system capable of doing so much more, is just lame. This game will be the downfall of cardboard box fun, next thing you know the whole bubblewrap society will shutdown.
Downfall of society as we know it, thanks to a stupid little game which allows you to make cardboard box men fight each other and do it so poorly that you will want to dig up your childhood and construct better cardboard box men and make them do so much more.
Samuraidino @ Aug 26th 2007 12:18PM
That....that was beautifull.
dontlikeitmodit @ Aug 26th 2007 12:16PM
We need much better moderation of the comments section on ps3fanboy. LBP defintely looks like it has potential to keep alot of people entertained for a long time. I just don't think I'm one of them.
myarggg @ Aug 26th 2007 12:51PM
you should maybe upload vids that can actually be viewed with the ps3 browser...
yoshi @ Aug 26th 2007 1:03PM
This makes me want to buy a PS3.. >_>;
Andy @ Aug 26th 2007 4:32PM
I agree completly with Sultan.
Remember...you don't play graphics you only look at them.
Consolcwby @ Aug 26th 2007 7:48PM
LBP is the natural progression of games that create a simulated world and allows you to "play" in that world. What many people (myself included) like about this is the freedom this kind of game gives people. I can understand that some people will not like this game (or it's types) since they need more structure in order to enjoy playing a game (like Halo or MGS). The only kind of people I reject (and would eject from this hobby) are those who cannot see the validity of different genres and the appeal of them to others. And for those who only enjoy one single genre and feel that they are superior, let me just say that when the bubble bursts (like it always does), then you will have to leave the hobby. The fact that so many people play so many different games should tell you - you are the exception and not the rule. =/ All fanboyism aside, this game looks just as interesting visually then most of the "big sellers" on other systems, even if it's not you're "cup o' frag"
samfish @ Aug 26th 2007 11:12PM
I'm still really interested in this game, but I have to admit that the more I see of it, the more pessimistic I become.
When I first saw it, I was blown away, but just about everything I, at least, have seen since has looked more like a tech demo rather than any sort of actual game. Like something you just kinda open up and screw around in for a while.
I want to see proof that this game has more substance, at this point. It's almost kind of reminding me of a Smash Bros where it has a really really weak 1 player mode but an entertaining multiplayer type mode.
Basically I'm starting to wonder if this game is going to end up feeling like a really impressive tech demo with a bolted on actual/traditional game mode.

Ok Xenotype take your hand off your d$#k and stop jerking off it's obvious that your not only losing what little sperm you have but also braincells!! WTF LMAO Dude I completely agree with Sultan are you kidding me!! Games that push the creative mind is awesome!! This is NEXT GEN! This hasn't been done before and this is only the beginning allowing for gamers to basically create freely what they wanna do! The real RETARD in this thread is you.. So free yourself from the XBOTism and just give credit when credit is due.. You wanna talk bout the downfall of society look in the mirror!! I TELL YOU SOME PEOPLE's children!! LoL You should've been eaten at birth! LoL

I think it is amazing what LBP have achieved.
I agree with sultan, that games are not about the graphics.
Its about interesting and fun gameplay. Graphics are meant to just make a game prettier. We need a new genre of games. Something fresh like LBP.
on a different note, my two cents, i have a feeling that microsoft are going to bring out a new machine in the next year to beat the ps3. Microsoft wont sit on their seats and watch playstation take gamers away. Thats the whole reason why they built the first XBOX because playstation took a percentage of pc gamers.
Xbox 360 cannnot compete when we start seeing the real potential of the ps3 however playstation started off really slow and as far as im concerned are being competition at the moment.
