Warhawk pushed back in Europe, but don't start crying just yet

We can see the same thing happening with the release of Heavenly Sword. The UK release for which is September 14th, two days after the American release on the 12th. Retail games come out on Fridays here, that's just the way it goes. But wait a second, didn't we just get a PSN update on a Wednesday? We wonder if those extra two days the yanks get to play with give them the edge. With worldwide servers available on day one, we'll no doubt soon find out.

Yeah, the beta guys will be way ahead of us anyway... I doubt the two days is going to be as much of an advantage as the two weeks that we'll get over people holding out for the Blu-Ray edition will be

I wish warhawk had a demo of some sort, I was all about getting it on day one until I read a so-so review of it in psm, now I'm on the fence about it. At least lair I can try out for myself and just ignore the reviews.

Josh, make sure you take into consideration that the "newly inserted" reviewer for Warhawk just came fresh from being an editor, I think, at the offical xbox magazine.

I had a great time with the beta. I'm genuinely confused as to how a critic can rave against the game.
Seems a lot of early reviews aren't giving much time for depth or even basic things like learning curves. The games are put on this pedastal that completely defies reality, and is docked off for not being that mind-blowing. The Heavenly Sword reviews on IGN were a pretty good example; contradictory with a dash of determination to be unimpressed.
But I digress. Warhawk is easily worth the money with a few friends, or if you're just into the Online competition thing.

Ill certainly try the demo but im just not a flying kinda guy. ;) Still if i read that lair is doing good i might give it a rent....Not likely...To many games coming out this fall. (for all consoles)

I am not bothered with this game's delay as the U.S retail version I ordered from VG+ is going to be about 1-2 days anyway.
But a friend allowed me to download the beta and I can say its fucking worth the money. Damn right fun, and I'm glad in a way theres no bots in the online mode but I would only approve bots in offline mode because I like my Online Multiplayer games with real people as I like to be tested by gamers with all sorts of skills *even though I get pwned at Counter Strike lol*
But those in doubt, this is kick ass. I was hooked day by day when I got the beta version! I can't wait til it arrives in a few days!

My biggest gripe about the Warhawk review in PSM was that he constantly harped on the fact that the Warhawk was so easy to take down, and should be more tough than say, a tank. He called it, unbalanced. If this guy was familiar with aircraft, he'd know that something as trivial as a stray bolt can blow an engine. It makes sense to me that a Warhawk would be as such. What does everyone else say?

I did get taken down flying them pretty fast. At first it seemed the same to me but after playing a while in the beta it seems people did get really good at flying. I liked ground action and trying to take them down with shoulder launched missles. I think if you couldnt get them down that fast when in your area then it would be unballanced in favor of them. You can die, and get back in one and back to your battle area so fast I dont think there is any other option but to get the defensive position the ability to take them down as they do. You might go down alot in them but you can get back in them fighting so fast it probably is overall pretty even. You can fly forever if yo ustay in your area so it only makes sence that flying in unfriendly space is very dangerous.

Yeah, i think the fact that you're THAT vulnerable in the cockpit is gonna foster some really good tactics when it comes to flying. Not to mention, coordination with infantry. I can't wait to see for myself!

Warhawk ended up being a disappointment in the reviews.
Warhawk was rated only a 6.5 out of 10 by PSM magazine. Warhawk is called, "A third person shooter that never gets off the ground."
This is NOT a surprise, because Warhawk REQUIRES at least two people to play, and there is NO MODE where Bots can be used in the place of people!!! THAT SUCKS!!!
In Warhawk, the final version of the game ended up where machine guns from people on the ground can actually shoot down the Warhawk... That SUCKS!!! And men on the ground with rocket launchers can shoot the Warhawk out of the sky in one shot... That SUCKS!!! That is why Warhawk is rated so poorly.
That's still better than Lair. Lair only got a rating of 5 out of 10 from PSM, and only 5.5 out of 10 from EGM.
Heavenly Sword is another game that is receiving very "Mixed Reviews."
Heavenly Sword received a rating of only 6 out of 10 from Edge.
Heavenly Sword received a rating of 7 out of 10 IGN, and other 7 out of 10 from IGN UK.
The 6 out of 10 from Edge is a REALLY BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.

They've yet to be disappointing. They've just been given early reviews from, in my opinion, questionable sources. Even though they make their bread from reviewing, it doesn't give them the last word. We can just wait, and see for ourselves when the gaming community gets them. Have some faith, man!

I don't know what else you would call it, technically or otherwise. If the game was scheduled for release on August 28th, and now it won't be released until the 30th, that is what is often referred to as a "delay". Doesn't matter if it is two days later or two months later, it is still getting delayed. Again.
When the release date of August 28th was announced did'nt anyone realise that was a day of the week that is for updating the PSN? And even so, why can't Sony release Warhawk for download the same day it updates the PSN? It's the small things like this that make me wonder about Sony. Small problems like this should not be occuring. Someone at Sony has a job that should be taking things like this into account. It tells me that the different divisions at Sony don't communicate very well. Three AAA titles scheduled for August release have all gotten pushed back. Not by months, but by weeks, or in the case of Warhawk 48 hrs. That seems to say that the problems needing fixing are minor and possible something someone forgot to do, like checking to see if an online release conflicts with an online update. Stranglehold got pushed back for the PS3, and now the 360 version got pushed back as well. But only by a few weeks, not months and months. Another problem caught in the 11th hour, and needs to be fixed, but not a major flaw that could take months.
More and more big AAA titles that have solid release dates are getting delayed due to technical issues. GTAIV had a release date that the developer said was set in stone. Now it has been pushed back to next year. How many more AAA titles that are scheduled for this fall/holiday season are going to be delayed to next year? I'm willing to bet quite a few.

Question to those who have played warhawk, are there servers populated by skill ?
Seems to me that those who beta'd are going to own everyone who starts this game new, which would just mean it would take a while to get to their level of skill, but am just interested how this will work.
I can't wait for this game, a definate buy for me.

@EDGE, I'm assuming that since games typically release on Tuesdays here in the States, that takes the lead over the Thursday release for us. That's when it will be in stores, so might as well put it on the store as well.
Oh yeah, and that's a retarded reason to delay the game in Europe.

John, I read about it in an article from N4G. I'm not sure if the source is accurate enough, but I'm sure you can prove or disprove the statement with a google search and check out the previos OXBOX mag staff listing or such.
I don't feel feel jealous of 360 people owners. I don't feel anything. I just don't like how I never bother going to their webiste to cause problems but they keep on coming to our neighborhood for some reason. Do you see Beverlly Hills and CEOs coming to the Ghetto to trash a neighborhood and rob houses and commit crimes? No. Do you see people from poor neighborhoods and prison inmates who like Gears of War coming over to Beverly Hills or Fancy neighborhoods to spray paint and steal cars and rob houses and commit vandalism and other misdeamers???? Yes. Good neighborhoods always try to keep trash out, but trash insists on coming in.

You can look at 360 owners and the kind of games they like and the systems they buy and know what type of people they are. Just look at how they are in this room. Don't forget the stereotype people give of gamers. You see them in the 360 people clearly. Wii is more like Mr. Rogers, Sesame Street, Disney or sometihng Hillary Clinton would approve of. The PS3 can do both the Wii type games with it's eye toy and SIXAXIS, and do anything the 360 can and everything in between while letting you watch Spiderman 3 and Harry Potter and Polar Express and Hellboy and all movies on HD. But the 360 is strictly for prison inmates, violent people, high school outlaws, troublemakers, MISFITS, outcasts, delinquents, juvenile, third try algebra students, drug addicts, people living by busy streets in small bedorooms and near freeways or social problems and attitudes. Would Hillary Clinton pick a 360? Or would Prison inmate be more prone to it and the type of games on it? Look at how 360 people behave.
If they're really smart, then how come they can't understand that they'll end up buying a bluray player at some point and helping Sony in the long run? IF theyu're so smart, why don't they see that the PS3 is the best valued bluray player if they like games too? PS3 owners don't need to worry about that. If they're so smart, then how come they don't realize that all their machines are faulty?
IF THEY'RE REALLY DECENT AND GOOD FOLKS, THEN WHY ARE THEY BENT ON MAKING PS3 OWNERS UNHAPPY AND GET **MALICIOUIS EVERY TIME PS3 GETS A GOOD GAME THAT'S NOT ON THEIR SYSTEM??? WHY? Because they're prison inmate Gears of War playing drug addict stone heads who enjoy death metal and hurting other people and skinning and killing cats and dogs. They like to skin and torture cats and dogs if they like Gears of War. I thought you'd be happy to see fellow humans get MGS4 on the PS3. They're not happy to see we've got the best of the best and share our happiness but Instead, they get malicious with us? Does that seem like a human virtue, a human quality that people should develop? Remember the stereotype for gamers?

I think games like Warhawk and Lair will be solid games, but they have been hyped up as legendary system selling titles, so if they dont live up to that they get not so good reviews from the mags. But that dosent mean they are bad games. I have watched some videos and read some beta tester impressions since my first post here and I think I'll end up picking up the game. Just hard because metroid comes out this week too.

I THINK IT'S ALSO IMPORTANT TO MENTION that even if the reviewer for Warhawk was at the Official XBOX Magazine prior to coming to PSM, it's important to note that PSM is actually a part of 1UP. And remember the scandal about 1up promising to knock points of the Warhawk rating if Sony didn't sell the online version for about $30 or something like that? Well, warhawk isn't selling for around $30, and it might be good to keep in mind that 1up might have something to do with this former xbox writer's professional and unbiased review, even though he is an comporomisable and has no personal agendas or emotions like a robot and all his writings are completely honest and moral.

I don't think 360 owners belong in the PS3 fan club. I thought you were supposed to be pro PS3 in order to be in this club? The more I see 360 owners and the 360 in action, the more I get disgusted. In fact, not only am I never going to buy a 360, I'm going to buy a negative number of 360's. It's not even going to be zero 360's for me but maybe a -1 360's purchased.
Funny how hoodlums from 360 land always try to come here to the wonderful PS3 world to steal cars, vandalisze, rob homes, and so on. No one in the PS3 world ever comes to their ghetoo world to cause troubles. You don't see Hillary Clinton or any Beverly Hills residents coming into Ghetto world to spray paint bad messages and vandalise and rob and cause misdemenaors in poor neighborhoods. But you always see poor people in shabby towns coming to wealtheir neighorhoods to steal and cause misdemeanors.
The more I see xbots, the more I hate the 360, and the mnore the 360 sales will plummet because who would buy a 360 after looking at these guys in actions.
For all you 360 people, find another way to boost your egos and self-esteem, you prison inmate and CONSUMER. And try not to stop other people from having fun and enjoying their free time and money. It's not your money they are spending, so take care of yourself and let them worry about themselves and how they choose to spend their leisure time and hard earned money. They slaved for it. It's time they got to enjoy it without your blabbing mouth interrupting. It's like people on vacation trying to enjoy a good sunday movie with kids and then some 360 onwer comes in and disturbs everyone because he likes a different movie.
360 people, we don't care what you like. We don't care for your tastes in games. We don't care that you like prison inmate heroine snorting marijuana death metal Gears of WAR horror movie games. Hillary Clinton wouldn't touch that game actually and would ban it if she could. I hope you understand.
Stay away from our kids, our schools, and our communities you dirty person who's only goal is to make other people feel bad. This is a PS3 community for people who love their PS3's. Good kids who want to enjoy their summer vacation. It's not an xbox community, so you either made a wrong turn or you're low in character. A bad person. We don't want you in our room endangering our community you misfit. Now we have to consider security guards, alarms, iron bars, and all other forms of criminal deterents because people like you.
