I want to know where I can online pre-order both a PSP 2000 and the video-out cable.
dapurplebyrd @ Aug 28th 2007 10:08PM
i wanted to know is the psp lite louder than the original because the psp-1000's volume wasnt that loud so i wonder if they increased the volume?
Thanks!
mike @ Aug 28th 2007 10:08PM
1. Is the video out cable included in any of the bundles?
2. What firmware is shipped with the psp? Any new functions other than video out?
3. Have the speakers been improved at all?
Shinogu @ Aug 28th 2007 10:12PM
Boot up Tekken DR, Me & My Katamari or MPO or any lag-intensive game and tell us if the doubled RAM helps those out. Regardless of what's been previously posted, let's see some hard evidence.
Surtur @ Aug 28th 2007 10:14PM
What video sizes does it play? Hopefully 640x480. Alot of video podcasts are encoded at this resolution and it would be nice to be able to play them with out having to re-encode them at 320x240.
Rottok @ Aug 28th 2007 10:23PM
How much to take one off your hands? jk lol My biggest question would be whether or not it will be able to support homebrew out of the box, like with a downgradable firmware or something, or will a bunch of programs and hacks have to be changed in order to support the new system. Thanks
Brandon @ Aug 28th 2007 10:24PM
I want to know is the system quieter when loading data from the UMD. When games retrieve info from the disk, there is the sound of the laser moving back and forth reading info. It would be great to know if that is noticeably less, or is it about the same.
TheHood @ Aug 28th 2007 10:26PM
Do files open faster on XMB?
Namely pictures and video files?
Saigon @ Aug 28th 2007 10:26PM
1. Is ghosting still noticable?(Especially in high-quality videos)
2. How long does the battery last when playing graphic intensive games, and when playing movies.
3.Does it sound better? Does the sound feel more directed towards the front of the screen?
"Boot up Tekken DR, Me & My Katamari or MPO or any lag-intensive game and tell us if the doubled RAM helps those out."
Tekken:DR lag intensive? Err! There's not even ANY small lag in that game.
Tim Parsons @ Aug 28th 2007 10:28PM
hmm seems like you guys asked most of the good ones,.
How about Preorder info for Canada and info on the Component cables,. I havent found the cables anywhere online and both toysrus and amazon american sites have preorders for all 3 units but neither of the Canadian sites have any sign of em yet.
J@F @ Aug 28th 2007 10:32PM
Does the web browser take advantage of the added memory? For instance, can web sites that cause the old psp's memory to run out work on the slim?
Don @ Aug 28th 2007 10:33PM
Please compare the speaker volume as well as the headphone volumes between the new & the old model.
If you can, try to--not quite throw-- but somewhat roughly put it on a table or hard surface a bunch of times, the way you would the PSP-1001, and let us know if the new shiny back is more prone to scratches.
What happens if you press the screen button long enough to start video out if it isn't plugged in? And will it be easy to accidentally do it while trying to simply turn off the screen?
If you get the new headphones remote along with it, please test to see if the PSP-2000 fits in the regular soft case with the remote attached.
jonathan @ Aug 28th 2007 10:35PM
1)Is the music/ video any louder in both playback with the headphones and in playback without the headphones?
2)If you are getting one of the bundled ones, does the game and the movie come in a slipcase or does it come in its regular plastic case?
G @ Aug 28th 2007 10:41PM
Although I believe Gamestop Sucks..why aren't they offering any pre-orders?
I can't seem to find anywhere to pre-order one, other than Amazon, and to be honest, I am weary of them.
Sai @ Aug 28th 2007 10:42PM
Does the PSP-2000 use a different motherboard from the current model? With the TA-082 motherboard giving problems for homebrew initally with downgraders and everything, will the PSP-2000 present another motherboard problem?
Is it possible to play music while viewing a slideshow on the PSP with this new release?
What is the cost of both the Core and the Value Pack? Is the cost the same as when the PSP first came out? Or will it be the same price as the PSP's currently in store? Are there any other special packs out there?
Have there been any homebrewers that have already committed to cracking the new firmware on the PSP-2000? It is horrible seeing all these great people dropping out of the scene. It'd be nice to know if there are people out there who have already committed to cracking the PSP-2000.
What is the battery charge time for the PSP Lite? Is it faster than the original PSP?
Makiyura @ Aug 28th 2007 10:46PM
1. How does it feel when u carry it around in your pocket (either walking, riding on the bus, etc) any issues?
2. How does the weight of the PSP SLim feel?
3. How are the Wi-Fi connections, test the range and amount of ppl using it at the same time?
Dennis @ Aug 28th 2007 10:49PM
Does the Firmware 3.60 have any noticeable differnces than firmware 3.52. And do the buttons actually have a better response/feel to them?
Random1448 @ Aug 28th 2007 10:53PM
Will mario work on it?
Random1448 @ Aug 28th 2007 10:54PM
that was a joke btw, but does it feel solid, like not like a Macdonald's toy?
upupdowndown @ Aug 28th 2007 10:57PM
Given all the existing PSP's accessories. Which one of these will be compatible with the PSP-2K? Please do a write-up on the breakdown of all compatible accessories with the new PSP-2K, along with new accessories that we are unaware of. Lastly, Can you please do an "UNBOXING" piece. Although, I'm sure this is what you guys have planned for us PSPFanboys anyways. Thanks.
jawara @ Aug 28th 2007 11:02PM
when will gamestop show the slim psp on their website and when does it actually come out for the us?
Sephiroth_FF @ Aug 28th 2007 11:05PM
Well, i heard that when you output games to your HDTV (trough component) the picture is framed so first is it true if so how big is the frame (i have a 50inch 1080p tv) an also i heard that because the PSP renders at 480x272 the output can't be bigger so will it look alright on my tv.
Thx a lot.
Kspraydad @ Aug 28th 2007 11:07PM
If Kingofwale purchases one will it help him with his virginity problem?
;) (I jest)
I'd like to know about screen brightness and contrast in sunlight...any improvements?
Also, play an hour and tell us if you miss the bumps on the back for 'cupping' your PSP.
jesus torres @ Aug 28th 2007 11:11PM
Any chance you guys can downgrade one and install a custom firmware? I'm also curious about how it feels without the bumpers, as a previous poster asked...
Hashbrown_Hunter @ Aug 28th 2007 11:14PM
That was harsh Kspraydad! Why are you and kingofwale always bashing on each other?? Play nice.
Anyways, what I would like to know is if games load noticeably faster. May I suggest testing Smackdown vs. RAW 2006, and you should be able to notice a difference (if there is any).
Kspraydad @ Aug 28th 2007 11:17PM
Actually I think that is the first time I've ever taken a shot at the wale...It was more of a preemptive strike!
To those in Canada looking for a pre order (that would include me and kofw) HMV is accepting them...
http://www.hmv.ca/hmvcaweb/en_CA/displayProductDetails.do?sku=1210559
However...the price is a little steep given P1000 is $179 at Walmart.
I'd really like to know when/if we are going to see the 1000 go on sale....
Kahonee @ Aug 28th 2007 11:18PM
Can you compare the size to the DS Lite's? How bigger/thicker/wider is it?
Since you are getting all three packs (right?), then, which is the best deal? I'm thinking of the Daxter Pack myself.
aymany @ Aug 28th 2007 11:20PM
how does it feel? are fingerprints very noticeable?
is it easier to use than the oldie?
Peter @ Aug 28th 2007 11:29PM
I think someone said it earlier, but I want to know if the added memory helps the web browser render sites it couldn't before.
And it would be cool if you described in detail how the lighter weight and slimmer design effects actually holding and playing the system. In other words, does the smaller size make it easier or more awkward to hold than the current PSP?
rockeranimefreak @ Aug 28th 2007 11:38PM
Can I have one of the psp-2000's after your done answer these questions? =)
brettjr @ Aug 28th 2007 11:57PM
Will I be able to use my React Sound PSP speaker set with the new PSP lite?
Kofi @ Aug 29th 2007 12:03AM
Is the PSP Daxter Entertainment Pack coming out September 10th in retail stores like Best Buy, EBgames, Gamestop, Circuit City, Toys R US, etc?
Because right now, it seems like a limited edition PSP available to ONLY ONLINE stores like Amazon.com
Jay @ Aug 29th 2007 12:24AM
can you try to downgrade it using a pandora jigkick batt and the required memstick, thnx!! ;p
snake79 @ Aug 29th 2007 12:29AM
I wanna to know that if the silver psp is more 'silver' then the old PSP.Cause the old psp silver color looks cheap in real life compare to photo.
Necro_Deadite @ Aug 29th 2007 12:53AM
i read that the doubled RAM decrease load times for new games. well what will happen with old psp users who play these new games that use the the extra RAM? will the load times be affected by this?
qwerter @ Aug 29th 2007 1:00AM
could you possibley add a video of you guys unboxing the psp 2000 or have a side by side video of you comparing them, thx
Ness @ Aug 29th 2007 1:09AM
Is there a way to get the PSP 2000 in white without the stupid dark vadar picture on the back? And if not is there a way to replace that section of the psp? (i'm thinking it depends wether it is on the battery side or not but I can't tell from the screens )
iorkara @ Aug 29th 2007 1:34AM
Should i trade in my Current PSP for PSPslim?
mike @ Aug 29th 2007 1:38AM
How does the PSP Slim fit into the current logitech and Sony hard cases? I have the sony version, and with the locking screen shell, does it wiggle around much?
Jay @ Aug 29th 2007 1:51AM
Please place the different batteries in the new PSP and compare game time. Try the standard PSP 2k battery then the standard PSP 1K battery. Then the extra capacity Sony battery. Also any word on a new battery cover for the older larger batteries?
Bryan @ Aug 29th 2007 2:01AM
Is the silver really like in that pic? Cuz the only pics I saw it looked like glittery craft paint. Here it looks like a blob of mercury. (which is good btw)
spin @ Aug 29th 2007 2:27AM
Please detail any XMB changes, with the extra RAM, is there any additional multi-tasking? Listening to music while looking at pictures/browsing the net? Any sort of jump to "XMB" in the middle of a game?(loads game into RAM temporarily?)
Roy @ Aug 29th 2007 3:13AM
I have two questions:
1. Does the screen have better refresh rate than the original PSP has (IE: no ghosting effects)?
2. Is there any chance of running homebrew on it either via an exploit, the Pandora battery, or other?
Thanks
Alex @ Aug 29th 2007 3:38AM
Does the new headphones come with the system?
Seb_Buko @ Aug 29th 2007 5:20AM
is the pandora battery able to downgrade the psp-2000 system?
Alien @ Aug 29th 2007 5:38AM
What FW it has and what does that specifically supports . Also the added RAM helps anithing or its just a gimmick ? How does the TV-out connection works ?
Ð.Sp!dér @ Aug 29th 2007 7:08AM
A have several questions for you guys but the biggest question EVER is: Will Pandora successfully downgrade the new 3.60 official firmware ? And are you willing to risk bricking one to find out ? :)
Please ? :)
I didn't care too much for the PAX chinese-guy try because it might be fake (he didn't have cell phone with a camera in 2007??????).
About the firmware (3.60)... Will you dump a copy and send it to the Noobz hacking team ?
WWhat about the Value Packs ? Dax, Starwars, FF, WTF ? I just need the Base Pack (retailed at $169.99, right??)...
What about the old PSP ? Will the prices drop once this one hits the stores ?
Last, but not least... IS IT WATERPROOF ? LoL can you make a test an post it on youtube ? Please ? :D
interested @ Aug 29th 2007 7:38AM
Sorry if these questions were already asked; I scanned the existing posts and may have missed them.
1) How does the Dpad feel? Is it really much better now?
2) Does the screen have less ghosting effect in high contrast scenes? Or is just the screen as before?
Thanks!
Thom @ Aug 29th 2007 7:52AM
New Question! I've heard various reports about the resolution sizes of the video out. Please confirm how the following play on hdtv and analog tv: Umd Movies, Video games, Pictures from your memory stick, Video from your memory stick. Heck, I even want to know how the music player graphics look on tv. How does the internet browser look? any new features added to that? (youtube, flash, java...)
ShadiWulf @ Aug 29th 2007 8:03AM
Can you guys see if the PSP lite fits in the PlayGear Pocket made by logitech? Im gonna be going to school and back with it and I wanna keep it safe from scratches in my bag.
