NCSoft says: four titles initially planned for PS3
Geoff Heath, NCSoft Europe's big boss talked to GI.biz regarding the deal they've struck with Sony. In it, they revealed some details we've been wondering about. For example, will the more popular MMOs come to the PS3? It's entirely possible, but nothing's been set in stone. We'll give you a list of the important points.- The deal has been in the works for a long time -- NCSoft has been seeking someone with the right technology and support to get into the console business. Plus, NCSoft likes how the PlayStation Store works.
- Since NCSoft has a ton of games, they initially need to dilute their options down to about four to stick on the PS3. We think they'll expand on their biggest titles, like Guild Wars.
- New titles that are created will be exclusive to the PS3 and only the PS3. Although, Heath admits, a PC version of whatever the title is will probably exist. There are no plans to bring any games to other consoles.

Nice to see another developer get so behind the system other lazy bums call "problematic".
Go NCSoft!

I agree with TheSh0wstopper.
I've been refreshing all day waiting for some sort of a review. I actually woke up this morning, went straight to the PS3, saw Warhawk available for download but decided to hold off and read some reviews, opinions, ANYTHING here today but I was greeted with nothing.
So either a) SUPER SLOW NEWS DAY or b) this game is so great that the bloggers decided it was best to play the game then post.

Showstopper I feel you on the Warhawk release and the lack of buzz for it on PS3Fanboy. What the hell is going on guys? Well I've logged about three hours on it so here goes.
Pros: Decent lobby setup, allows you to filter your gametype down to a T (min number of players, max number of players, level, etc.)
The weapons seem balanced to a degree. I mean don't try to take on well, ANYTHING with the pistol that you spawn with, but a rocket launcher Vs. the Warhawk is about even, and the Warhawk is very survivable with chaff and maneuvers. Every vehicle that I saw carries at least 2 guys.
The action is fast paced, with colorful levels and EXCELLENT sound. When you're not in a vehicle the sounds of explosions and Warhawks whizzing by is daunting. You really feel small at times just because of the sound alone.
The levels are colorful and robust. There are majority flying levels and majority ground pounding levels. Of course you sort of have to adapt to the level in regards to your choice of vehicle. If you're on an air level and hate flying the Warhawk, you're not totally out of luck, but you'll suffer to a degree.
Cons: The mic setup SUCKS!!!! I have a motorola H700 that I use w/ Rainbow 6 often w/ no problems, and with Warhawk, I couldn't tell if anyone could hear me talking to them. I could hear others, but no one responded to me. Sometime people would call my name (which leads me to beleive that you can only talk to people in close proximity) but they couldn't hear me respond. This is a HUGE drawback to the game. Hopefully a patch will fix it.
The Warhawk controls take a minute to get used to. I never used the SIXAXIS controls, but I had the tendency to use both sticks as if I was walking, and the right stick is for quick evasive manuevers, so it would jack me up. Maybe a practice level that guy can go into to get used to the controls is in order.
To be honest, those are my only cons. I downloaded it for the $40, and I feel that after they fix the mic thing it will be well worth the money. If it a system seller, maybe not, but it IS worth the $40 dollar download.
So have YOU played Warhawk? Whaddo you think?

And if you're holding off to download it, go ahead dude. I looked at this game with a very critical eye, and it by no means feels cheap. (Crackdown for the 360 felt cheap, so did Gripshift and Ridge Racer). Go ahead and download dude. If you feel better buying the disc then cool, at least you can sell it to someone else if the game isn't your cup of tea. I hate 3ps, and I thinks its tight...mic problems aside, it's a full up experience...

I broke down and started the download when I was home for lunch today. Now I'll have it waiting for me when I get home in 3 hours. I can't wait...all I need to do is dig up my wife's Jabra bt headset and I'll be in business.

Does this always happen to Canadians?
I can't find Warhawk anywhere, I have looked all over Calgary, Alberta.
Does this always happen to Canadians? (getting games a couple of days after Americans)
I know I shouldn't say too much because Europeans have to wait a couple more months before they get games but I always thought Canadian releases were on par with American releases.
Popfrogs @ Aug 28th 2007 6:24PM
Andy:
We don't have it either, that's what we've been talking about all day. It got *released* today, which means that it shipped to retailers.
I don't have the patience and the Jabra headset shipping with the retail package is an el cheapo model, so I just downloaded it. I'm sure you can too.

Sucks that Cryptic Studios actually made City of Heroes and NCSoft only published it. It would have been cool to have COH on PS3.
