Haze is PS3 exclusive for the foreseeable future

According to German website eXp, and recently re-affirmed by Gamespot, an announcement was made regarding Haze at Leipzig that caught our attention. It seems that the title, initially scheduled as a PS3 exclusive for this year and slated for a 360 release early next year, has become a permanent exclusive feather in Sony's cap. If you're looking for a console version of Haze, you've only got the PS3 to choose from. Yep -- the 360 version has dropped off the map along with the PC build. We don't know why.

To keep this from becoming a "ha, ha, take that 360 bots!" comment thread, we'd like to discuss a few of the reasonings for this announcement -- all speculative, of course. First, Sony doled out a hefty sum of money to grab the game's exclusivity forever. To do that, they must be confident in the game's ability to sell well and is getting incredibly positive reactions from gamers and game journalists, which it really is. A second possible reason is the difficulty Haze developers are having moving all the stuff from the PS3 to the 360 -- utlizing Blu-ray and standard hard drive space may have spoiled them. It's not to say they couldn't actually make the game for 360, it's just that they felt the quality of the experience would be severely hampered and scrapped it. We'd sooner give the nod to our first assumption, but we'll leave it up to you guys to discuss this. Either way, we know the PS3 will be getting a fantastic game built with its strengths in mind.

This game looks fantastic. Plus, they use real actors for the cutscenes! Oh wait, that's a bad thing. I can't shake the feeling of PS1 Resident Evil.

It's about time Sony ponied up some cash and got themselves an exclusive. You can hypothesize all you want about port complications, but I doubt that was it. I bet Sony bought this after seeing the reviews of two of their A-List titles (Heavenly Sword and Lair) go sour. Good for them.

I'll likely get this for my PS3 when it drops.

Ok, back on topic.
Developers are getting f***ed up now a days. They make games and wait till platforms shell out cash. This make them look like trash when it come to ethics, first you say exclusive then you say multi-platform. Set the bait then reel it in. Micro$oft started this trend of buy exclusives. I wont be surprised if a lot of developers start to do this.

Well considering these guys made Timesplitters and Goldeneye It maybe be worthwhile.

As for 360 fanboys/trolls saying this game is nothing now that it may well be a PS3 exclusive can rot for all I care.
Haze feels like it has a different perspective compared to 'generic' FPS games, what with the nectar idea and seeing things from both sides.
I mean it will never stand up to games like Halo and COD4 since it's a new franchise but so was Bioshock and that did that take the cake.

This is a site for PS3 fans to discuss about the PS3. You neither are a fan and hence do not own a PS3 (since you obiviously hate it so), so please do us a favor and go somewhere else to bash.

So anyways, I really like the way the two sides work. It is rare to have to two sides in a FPS have more different than starting positions on a map and weapon/vechile difference. One side here will have FEAR abilities and the other have some really nice sneaky things to boast about. I am looking forward to it. I hope it supports mouse and keyboard.

Here I'll give you 2: Of course Gears, because you ALL pull that one out, even though it's a 4.5 hour campaign, and Bioshock (and you can read the end of the Haze thread for my take on that one). Give me one more. PLEASE!!! And don't come with any bullshit because I for one have a 360. Bullshit=Crackdown, Chromehounds, Quake, King Kong (remember THAT one), Lost Planet...And to the guy who asked why do PS3 owners often have both? IT CAME OUT A YEAR EARLIER, oh, and we can afford to. The 360 also STILL has the RROD on it's brand new consoles. God I find this funny. Brand new console, to replace a broken console, and it breaks after 20 minutes.

I don't see how Ninja Gaiden doesn't count. Many people never played it on Xbox due to the Halo craze. Plus, I'm sure they could've made a 360 version seeing how it's easier to program for (as you guys love to remind us of). Forza and Dead Rising. LOL! I think I can leave you alone now. Ok you 360 fanboys have officially lost this thread, just to wrap up this argument. Can any 360 fanboy name one 360 exclusive next year that will be awesome. Can any 360 fanboy name any 360 game after this year that will be awesome, I bet you'll say Gears 2, I just know you'll say that but all you'll get is 5 more hours of gameplay, plus that game will come out in like 3-4 years.

Im pretty sure almost all if not are system sellers by 08. (not to mention what Home has to offer) Mico$oft needs to get buying cause by then the undecided voters will have made up their minds on their system of choice.
When Sony hits it will HIT hard. The best thing for Micro$oft to do is hit below the belt.... buy, buy, buy.

Warhawk is just a taste of what is up to par with ps3.

I don't know if the "buy buy buy" concept is below the belt. Hell I WISH Sony could buy their way into Halo, but it'll never happen. Thats what I have a 360 for though...that and scratching up CDs and DVDs. It is VERY functional in that regard. Nah, the 360 is cool. I just get tired of lames that don't even PLAY the games they talk about come over here and try to make PS3 owners feel like they're missing the boat for not owning, or favoring the 360 and it's "immense" lineup of "quality" exclusive titles.

But lets not count our chickens. Lair was supposed to be huge as well, and two days ago it too would've been on that list there Solid. I just want good games man. Exclusives, ports, what ever. Just don't pull an EA when you bring shit to the PS3 devs. Go hard or go home...and if you don't like the PS3, don't buy one, but don't post to this site shooting off at the mouth and expect not to get noticed...and OWNED...

My gut is telling me Sony picked this up so they have a exclusive FPS as Killzone 2 is going to take a while and the 360 has Halo on the way. Which makes me think this may be a better game than I was thinking it was. I am NOT a irrational fanboy but I'm starting to think that Halo could very much be a bad thing for the X360, it seems no one wants to go head to head with it and because of that the 360 is losing a lot of games to the PS3.

I agree, I like the idea of buying exclusive games more for the PS3 for some reason. My only exception might be Devil May Cry 4 (if it is any good, I hope its not like Metal Gear Solid 2 with Raiden) and Assasin's Creed (is it only three cities you work in?).

I am definitely getting UT3 (saves me from upgrading my two year old desktop), GT5 (gamespot reported it free but its also available on Blu Ray for some reason), MGS4, FFXIII (a female lead should be interesting), and LittleBigPlanet (me and my friends are gonna love that).
