How do I get ranked?

I've racked up like 8 hours... in two days (I can see how people have 35+)

But nowhere I go ranks me...

Also under the control scheme, "Brake" for the Warhawk is spelt wrong ^^

You need to be on a ranked server from SCEA. Look for the blue severs.

is this game actually any good? i'm 50/50 on getting it, mainly because it looks too arcadey (fly yr ship into the mountain and it bounces to the ground..wtf?)

i feel exactly the same way you feel. im more of an army shooter kinda player and this game looks too arcadey but i heard it was good. Im 50/50 on it also so help both of us out with your thoughts

@ 1, 3 and 5

Its not the colour of the servers that determine rank/unranked. Look for the trophy on the far left of the server name. If it has a cross through it its unranked. If its uncrossed just then it ranked. The blue servers are official servers however ANYONE can make a ranked server.

Remember, look for the trophy.

Warhawk? OH this game is just fuckin' awesome. I especially like it when it says "unable to join" with every server. I put my controller down, and I think to myself.. I just bought a 40 dollar screen saver.

it is definatly annoying trying to join servers, they say like 22 of 24 but then it tries to connect for a long time and says server full, I've had it say that the server was 19/24 and still it says its full. usually I grab the most open spots and hope for the best, which sucks. maybe a queue would be nice, or have it tell us if there are reserved slots or something.

I can't play this weekend... I don't have Warhawk (Persona 3 is taking up all my time - damn you Nick!) and I have to work overtime for the next 2 weeks. Every Sat - Thurs... =S I officially hate my job now!

i have problems joinging serversthat have more that 8 people in it. it always says the server is full even if there is like 10 free spaces. dont get me wrong this game is awesome once u finally get into a larger game but it just seems to hard to do so

Yeah the joining official servers is totally ridiculous. There's something wrong with the way they report and update so the number of players is never right.

They have some more work to do on this game, that's for sure, but once you DO get in to a match, it's lag-free and smooth sailing, round after round.

I really wish I could play Warhawk soon. I not too long ago ordered the Blu-ray version from Amazon, but it hasn't shipped yet, so it probably won't come in for another week or so... I hope, by the time I finally get it, it won't be boring to everyone. I hope people are still playing it by the time that comes. :P

its not actually hard for me to get into ranked servers...although i've only tried 2 times...both times, i got right in. and they said like 7/8 slots full both times.

but there've been times when i tried to enter 19/24's and didn't get in...so it's really a toss-up.

all depends on how many thousand's of people are hitting 'x' within a millisecond of you.

Whoopsie, my bad. Yes the trophies are not slashed out on ranked games.
As for anyone who is 50/50 on this game. DONT BE, GO GET IT NOW! This is the most chaotic, crazy, fun, lag free, like everyone is sitting right next to you multi-player game that I have ever played. If you see at least 4 spots open on 20+ player games, 90% of the time you should be able to get in.
CTF for me is the most fun. There is alot of cordination and teamwork involved.
For example, you can fly 3 people in a Warhawk to land next to the flag. Meanwhile, others are coming with tanks and jeeps and on foot to support the ones who grab the flag. It is a good idea to set up empty vehicles along your path back because you will die numerous times trying to get the flag back.

This game is quite simply....the shit.

if you have trouble with the bluetooth, it is probably because you don't have it in discover mode.

I've been having the exact same issue. I'll try to join a server that says 17/24, and it will say the server is full. I started to think there was something wrong with my ps3 or my wireless router, but after reading these comments, I can see that there is a bug that sony needs to take care of.

The secret to joining "full" servers is:

Join servers that have open slots when the game is just starting. It works a lot more often but not every time.

Consider it a free tip. Invite me to your clan or something if it helps you

The Sony servers RARELY work for me. And I dunno my router password so port forwarding's not gonna work. Well, ranking up isn't what the game is for, though, now is it? Besides, there'll be other ranked games that aren't Sony servers eventually...

Haven't had a problem with the Sony servers, or any servers, even when joining a couple games that were close to full. Like Ben said, go for ones that are just getting started if you're trying to join a game that only has a couple open slots.

Anyway that was some good gaming tonight, wish I could have played longer. Anyone who regularly posts that was playing alongside me this evening? You'll know who I was by the trail of dead... or my name, either one works.

i dont get how people are unable to find games! theres tons of them! am i the only one flying with sixaxis controls? its way more fun but a quite a bit more difficult than with the control sticks. but im still reeling form the dissapointment that is lair

i usually scroll down a few seconds, and all of those servers are much less busy and if you click on a 19/24 server you get in most of the time.

the top servers are always full tho. they should have made a way of just clicking "drop me in a game with a max of players" and the computer should just try every one that is "free" until you hit gold.

Sure, the matchmaking isn't as nice as it is in RFOM, but it's nowhere near as difficult as #9 says.

Blue servers can be tough, but there were 900+ total servers up on Friday night. Plus you can just host your own game...

#9 just sounds like a whiny little girl (no offense to all the girls out there).

ok, thanks for pointing out the Blue are ranked... I figured they might have been...

But... I'm still clueless... I've racked up lots of time, spent 4 hours in one this morning... but my profile says I only have 25 minutes...

Do I have to leave the server after every game? or something?

Why can't it tally up my constant sitting in there? Seems incredibly farfetched that I can't get a place and stay there being ranked for all I do...

I don't even keep my ribbon for being top player once :(

Yeah never mind. I was supposed to hold down the button on the bluetooth for about 5 seconds, so it could be in discovery mode and my PS3 could detect it. Wow thats what happens when you don't read directions. Stupid me haha

OMG! I was playing this game till I got a headache. And then was dreaming all night about playing. Good thing I have some Asprin. Cause I am going back in today. This game is so addictive. I bought the downloaded version but while I was learning as I go I wish I had a manual to know exactly what everything does but its cool... like i ever read the manual. haha.

Me too. I have yet to bore of online, as Warhawk is only my second ever only experience. Resistance was my first.

While I like the setup and ease of getting into games better in Resistance, once your in a game in Warhawk its much more fun.

I've also had the problems getting into the blue servers, I can get into any other server just fine but the blue ones are retarded.

I still haven't received my copy from Amazon...

I've been reading these comments about people having a hard time joining games, does this have something to do with the two pre-defined teams? I assume you have to have equal numbers of slots for each time in a given game... If all of the slots for one team are full and the other team is empty but you try to join the game as a character from the first team... does it tell you that you can't join because that team is full? Or does it just tell you the server is full despite the 8/16 number or whatever? Does that make sense? I'm full of gin again.

You have a preferred team which you join when the sides are balanced... but you join the other team if they aren't balanced - I think, can't say I pay that much attention (it'd make sense too...)

The SCEE servers never seem accurate... they always say 30/32 or less... but whenever you join, they always say it's full... then when the list refreshes... they still have the same amount...

In the mornings it much easier to get in, I've found it nigh-on impossible to get on one this evening... when I did, I got 2 awards... and then disconnected :(

46: Yeah the Sony servers don't report properly. They seem to have some kind of proxy server reporting for them, because a refresh NEVER changes any of the numbers they show, including their ping.

its a great game but it is rubbish when people don't use mics and just do their own thing instead of working as a team which is much more fun anyone with a mic please add me and we can have some proper games, if you use the mics properly you can pawn anyone
