Worldwide PS3 releases for the week of September 3rd
We're glad you've taken the time out from your busy Warhawk schedule to check out what's new on the PS3 this week. In short: there's nothing. Keep playing Warhawk and Lair for another week or so and before you know it Heavenly Sword and DiRT will be readily available. Here's the full release list for this week:US Games

Like we said; just keep on playing with Warhawk and Lair and, after this week, the big games will start to come thick and fast.

See this is where my problem lies. I wanna like the PS3, I really do, but there's nothing coming down the pipeline. I am not trolling just hear me out.
Lair was supposed to be this big thing and then -> flop. Same with Heavenly Sword. But I have the 360 and I can play Halo 3 and BioShock. If that's not your cup of tea, then there's Mass Effect and a bunch of other third-party games.
From an entertainment perspective, rather than a fanboyish one, the 360 seems like the better purchase.
This is not a Halo 3 > PS3 thing, its just that as the PS3 is releasing some heavy hitters, the 360 comes bigger.
I don't actually own the PS3 but for any PS3 owners that want to play some good games and are unhappy, pick up the good old Xbox :).
P.S. I am talking strictly games, if I hear this cell-processor, blu-ray, and 3 red lights talk than I`ll know it`s back to a fanboy flame war.

Is that a Ninja Casino game? Can someone start making REAL games with REAL plot? Yes, I know Warhawk is awesome but with Lair and Heavenly Sword being huge letdowns I'm starting to think that this is going nowhere fast. I'm going to go find a copy of Warhawk today but if I still can't find one (I'm not downloading ANY game because DRM is wack!) I'll be going back to the Call Of Duty 4 beta and/or Bioshock. You guys should really get both systems :)

How can you complain about games if you haven't played them. I doubt you have even tried Lair and I know you haven't played Heavenly Sword. I haven't tried either and I won't judge them until I do.
Your not even giving these games a chance, I know you would still buy Halo if it got a 6.5/10 so why don't you give some of these games a chance.

Yes, I've played Lair and I have played the demo for Heavenly Sword. Let me explain something to you. I am a gamer, not a Fanboy. My occupation is making games so I am more aware about games then you even know. Both of these games are just Ok. Not great, just ok. All I'm saying is that I would like to see a game hit this system that makes me get excited. So far I have not felt that from ANY game that has been released for the PS3. Please don't take this so personal. I own ALL 3 systems and have NO problem speaking the truth. And let's be honest, you know and I know that Halo 3 is not getting a 6.5/10.

The heavy hitters are coming in November with Haze and Ratchet & Clank and GT 5 Prologue. Then the biggest ones are coming in the spring when the 360 line up is empty: FFXIII and MGS4. When is littlebigplanet coming out?

@9 - Though this is not specifically addressed to your post, I do wonder how many people have said that they own all the 7th gen systems to feign neutrality in their arguments. While I feel your arguments are correct, I really wish people would stop saying "I have both systems", "I played both games", etc. And I think it is unfair to judge a game by its demo, which can be considered to be a small beta of the game, lacking in both story and depth.

@11 - I don't own all 3 systems (only 1 of them, and that a 360) but what surprises me more is how many people there are on these boards to are "game developers" and use that in an attempt to give their opinions a weight they don't deserve.
Now, I'm sure x silence x is the exception to the rule bullshit and actually IS a developer, but it is still immature of him to use it in an argument. Additionally, given that the vast majority of released games are poor, it makes even less sense to trust the opinions of people like x silence x.

Anyway, it's amazing to me how many Xtrolls crap on and praise games that HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN RELEASED YET. Halo3 in all its mediocrity, is already making them slobber and howl, and that's over a 'gone gold' announcement.
The X360 is just for screaming adolescent zit-poppers and anyone who has spent 30 minutes on Xbox Live knows it's a fact. I guess it's just modus operandi for them to troll forums of consoles they don't own and can't afford as well as bag on games they have no intention to purchase. What's the point kids? Do you win internet trophies or something?

I just want to add something:
I'm tired of reading (from either gamer/fanboy) PS3 has no games, or no games in the pipeline. There are games in the pipeline. I will be the first to admit the PS3 is lacking in a strong library, but hell I'll say th esame thing for the 360. The 360 only has four titles I'd run out and buy and actually of those four I own 2 of them for my PC.
And on top of that, please stop saying "I got Halo 3," in an arguement claiming the PS3 has no titles. Because technically you don't have Halo 3. All you have is:
Forza 2, GoW (I can't believe people still play this game,) and Bioshock.
And just to burst peoples bubbles - Bioshock isn't all that great. It is a mediocre FPS and I don't care what Metacritics say. If you play any other FPS outside of Halo, you'll come to see how mediocre Bioshock truly is. Gears of War was more revolutionary then Bioshock.
I'm getting tired of Bioshock being thrown around as if it is the best FPS ever made. Most people I know who played already beat it and haven't touched it since. Oddly enough my 360 friends are back at Gears of War. How is a game that is suppose to be so damn amazing only have a 1-week turn around time? They dropped the ball by not giving it multiplayer, hell even Half Life, one of the biggest story driven FPS, has multiplayer.
Okay, sorry big rant. Haha. Love you guys!

I got the 2-Next Gen systems and a Wii. I developed two games in college, and I've been playing games since I was 5! So I'm better then all of oyu and my opinions are perfect!

Hmm, what amazes me is that taking a look at the reviews of Lair, it seems its going to be amazingly poor. But looking at actual people who have played the game, even on IGN, Ive found 2 or 3 bad reviews out of about 50. Something is surely going wrong if a game that IGN in this example feels is terrible is loved by the majority of people who play it. I guess it's the bad press the PS3 seems to get.
This is gonna be a busy few months for me anyway, I've eyed up about 10-15 guys Id love to own before christmas...Im gonna be broke!

Wow, I wasn't even trying to start an arguement. I speak the same way on the X360 Fanboy site and NEVER get such angry responses. I guess truthful OPINIONS are not welcome around PS3 fanboys. Anyway, I now have copy of Warhawk and I'm off to enjoy it. You guys can now return to your corporate whore rants.
I'll be playing Bioshock, Call of Duty Beta, Metriod and Warhawk for the rest of my weekend. Have fun!

Um, Heavenly Sword is getting 8s and 9s all over the place. The only low score was from IGN so far. Hell, even EGM just gave it a 9, 8, 8... if an 8 is bad, I don't know what you people want. Games such as Lost Planet had very mixed scores and it still did well.
I expect Heavenly Sword to do just fine, jeez.
I look forward to purchasing it next week in fact.

i own warhawk and i'm hooked i own lair its OK only.but the titles i own on my 360 are WAY better than the ones i have for my ps3. rainbow 6 vegas, ghost recon 2, madden 08, BIOSHOCK, all way better than the titles for the ps3 that i've mentioned. now i am not a fanboy I am a GAMER. i don't care if OSCAR MYER started to make gaming consoles as long as they give me what i want in a game i will buy it. as of RIGHT NOW the BETTER GAMES ARE ON the 360. i don't know what the future holds but it seems the better games for the rest of 2007 are going to be on the 360.

Whether or not they are terrible ports you make it sound as if the PS3 has no titles yet you name a few and only one isn't found on the PS3.
Once Orange Box drops I hope people start to understand what a strong story driven FPS is suppose to be about.

@18 - I think we forget at times that reviews from those places are usually done by a single person. Lair's control system is probably either a love-it-or-hate-it or a very steep learning curve, since I find it hard to imagine they spent that much time on the graphics and music to purposely loose points due to control.
@19 - The reason flamers get such a negative response so instantly is because it comes with EVERY single article that is positive, neutral, or negative about anything related to the PS3. Not only does it come, but the original poster keeps on coming back. I used to just read these sites without leaving comments, but after awhile, it is just too frustrating to hear the ranting continue. I don't know what people expect from a ps3 fan site.

A slow release week for us PS gamers. I think Warhawk is worth the price. It is not perfect, what is, but it delivers what a gamer wants. Fast pick up and play, great visuals, and the ever present 'where did my day go' after playing 4 hours worth. A great title making the PSN even better.
