it's funny how i see more SH 5 news on this site when i talk to my concept artist friend who works on the game about The Collective not having a clue how to cram their game into a PS3.
soo what i'm saying is, is that these are clips from the 360 build, which do look pretty sweet. i'm actually kinda surprised at how it looks considering The Collective's other failure--Dirty Harry.
regardless they are doing all they can. here's hoping somebody does a decent port of it for the PS3.
Popfrogs @ Sep 8th 2007 1:42PM
I like the movie effect of the paint peeling, etc. It'd be even cooler if it wasn't a cut-scene..if it was something that took place while you were playing.
Josh @ Sep 8th 2007 3:47PM
Does any body else think the last video came straight out of the movie? If you were to switch the characters genders and add some barb wire to it, it would be the movie!
bloqmayus @ Sep 8th 2007 7:39PM
THE LOCK IS BROKEN. I CAN'T OPEN THE DOOR.
wow, have you learned nothing yet Konami?
a whole city and is all a big lie. you can't go anywhere.
and really, i tought the transition from real to crazy ass world would be while you were playing.
ryano @ Sep 8th 2007 7:57PM
@blogmayus
this is only a cutscene that the transition takes place. there are many times where it takes place real time.
Consolcwby @ Sep 8th 2007 8:10PM
@ryano: =o Then please provide a link and lets see it.

Fanboy Alert, fanboy alert....everyone be aware.....he's right there, his name is ryano!
ryano @ Sep 9th 2007 3:27PM
@Consolecwby
i'll provide you a link once they release one. =)
i've only seen quicktime captures from my friend's computer. it looks just like that cutscene. it'd be stupid if it went to a cutscene every time, agreed?
@sain
na, hardly a fanboy. i've no idea what these SH games are about, i just support my friend and the cool art that he does: www.codenothing.deviantart.com
he's yet to post some of the monster designs he worked on since the game isn't done yet. but you can see his work in the latest EGM magazine.

"when i talk to my concept artist friend who works on the game about The Collective not having a clue how to cram their game into a PS3."
Hmmm I'm not sure how his employers would feel if they knew he was talking about the problems they're facing.
Good job you didn't give us a solid lead to who he is.

Oh...
ryano @ Sep 11th 2007 3:01AM
@A
his employers would agree with him! the PS3 is a wicked mistress of a Labyrinth.
as long as they get it up and running on at least one console is all that they care about firstly.
making it on PS3 may take advantage of the godly might of the Cell processor, but making for the 360 first will ensure they have a working game to show Konomi.
also, saying it's coming to both consoles makes good PR but as we all know PS3 versions always get delayed for some reason(Oblivion GOTY edition delayed for next month on PS3)
the same will happen for SH5.
and you think i'm an idiot for sharing one of his art accounts? that doesn't mean anything. just that he has more people looking at his cool art.
and if this does come around to the employers, guess what'll happen to my friend? not even a slap on the hand, he's their MVP. he does great work for them.
so, if you want to play this world he helped create sooner, your best bet would be on the 360.
Paul @ Sep 17th 2007 3:00PM
So they can fit the game onto the 360 disc, which is just a 5gb DVD, but they can't fit it on a 25gb blu-ray disc ..... can't quite see the logic in that somehow!!
Ozzy @ Oct 3rd 2007 10:48AM
Hello, Ive seen how generic SH5 looks now, They practically killed the sequel, what I loved about the japanese team, was the level of anime detail that theyd put in it, in SH3 you could see how the skin in the caracters faces, would match preacioulsy what they said, the eyeballs in them moved, cause if you see condemend game comparison, theres no single strands of hair in physics moving, eyes are rendered as a texture not as an object. in previous silent hills , theres thousands of details, including the locations and landscapes are stuning, SH5 looks more like hitman or splinter cell caracters copied and pasted with different clothes and hair, same models no motion capture, no evolution trhough new consoles, bah too bad. american developers are lazy, they dont put as much love and artistry to implement ambiance, they decided to make it more action like than psicological horror. hahaha what a mockery of game.
Sugar Goose @ Oct 3rd 2007 2:23AM
This is a response to Ozzy:
Okay, what the hell are you talking about. Instead of complaining, you should look up information about Silent Hill V. I don't know what the hell you meant when you say anime detail. What the heck does "anime" have to do with any thing? The graphics looks amazing!
Also, they used motion capture (actors) for the people (Alex) AND the creatures.
You said the Japanese team had better details in the previous Silent Hill games than the fifth-installment. FALSE! They added a crap load of interesting things in Silent Hill V, such as: bumping into a table sending its contents onto the floor (which alerts the monsters), the combat system is better, monsters can knock down doors and search for you and during gameplay (I like to believe) the wall peels and turns into a hellish nigthmare.
Therefore, the American developers are not lazy. They are working thier asses off and the game will be great! Trust the developers and do your research about the game instead of talking out of your ass.
