Madden 08 roster update makes Vick disappear

Just in time for the start of the first Sunday of NFL action, EA SPORTS has released a roster update for Madden 08 on next gen consoles, which includes the PS3. The update includes the latest rosters as well as ratings adjustments for some players.The guys over at X360 Fanboy also note that Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has been removed from the game. We'll spare you from the over-used dog fighting jokes, but instead we will give you a nice gameplay tip. Vick's departure makes cover boy Vince Young the fastest QB in the league, making him your best choice for running the "bootleg every down and hope to catch the defense sleeping" offense.

I've owned at least a console per generation since NES and have NEVER bought a Madden game.

Yeah...screw Warhawk...its just Atari 2600 Combat with better graphics, new features here and there and updated vehicles and enemies. SAME GAME!!!

So if I update, I am essentially getting less game for my money. I can understand this from a realism perspective, but as a discerning consumer who spent $60 for a game, why would I want to delete my game's best quarterback, who will undoubtedly offer some of the most exciting gameplay moments? I don't actually own the game, but if I did, I'd be hard pressed to update.

@everyone else who comments on Madden but never plays it - Why are you commenting on it, then, exactly?
This year's Madden is the best in a long time. And, the roster updates are great. Heck, I want to play Jeff George. But, guess what? Jeff George isn't playing football. So, I'm not really getting less for my money, I'm getting exactly what I should be getting... an NFL game.
And if those run-around-the-field-like-an-idiot guys are no longer using Vick every play, then the world of Madden has gotten just a little bit brighter.

=o ...i'd pay to play a game where YOU are the lord of the dogs, and must EAT Vick in order to secure peace and harmony between the human and dog worlds... A minigame in Madden 09, perhaps? =D
