PS3 Poll Police: Your TGS Predictions

The Tokyo Game Show is right around the corner and with it, some undoubtedly large announcements by Sony and the other console giants. Not to be rude, but the Poll Police aren't interested in the others at the moment -- they need your help in deciphering the big announcements to come and it's going to take two weeks! This week the Poll Police have compiled what they feel would be the biggest announcements Sony could belt out during the show, but your duty does not end at casting a vote this week. Should you feel another announcement is bigger and/or better, leave a comment informing us so next week we can pitch those suggestions against this week's most talked about prediction. Without further ado, the Poll Police's ideas.
We omitted most game-related announcements (Home isn't really a "game", per se) because there's the possibility of so very many. Those five are the ones most likely to get a mention, the Poll Police feel, but they are by no means all big announcements to come -- that's where you come in. Vote on these, let us know if you feel something has been horribly overlooked and next week, we'll have a battle royale amongst the biggest possible TGS announcements that may or may not occur. If you're curious about last week's poll, check the results after the jump to see how many of your friends have been Warhawk'd.

We expected the results to be similar to this, but we didn't expect such an even spread between people who have yet to purchase Warhawk and those who have no desire to purchase it at all. Clearly, a majority of us have come down with this virus and enjoy playing the game immensely. We hope those who voted for "soon" will join the fray, as we always like seeing fresh faces online. Those not interested in the title, it's okay. We're sure the games you want to play will pop up sooner than you think. We'll be back next week and, as always, we appreciate your votes!

Sixaxis w/ rumble.

If they announce it, it will have the most buzz, at least. Xbots throwing a fit and flaming everywhere because of the previous "last gen" comments (even if it would be getting touchsense feedback, which is a lot fancier than normal rumble) and people cheering about it or whining because they have to buy a new controller if they want it.

On top of that, Sony has a history of not mentioning half the good stuff they add to firmware updates. I always come here to see what other people have dug up.

None of those things would be bad. I loves me some Guild Wars, so NCSoft products are good. A better store can't hurt and Home looks neat. Just don't think those will have as much to them.

My predictions -
* Firmware 2.0 will incorporate Home in the XMB. This update and Home won't be released until mid-October.

* Rumblaxis might be unveiled but won't be available to buy for many months. I reckon, based upon the very first GT and the bundled analogue stick controller, that GT5 will come bundled with Rumbl-Axis, meaning a release some time mid/late-next year.

* PSN redesign will be after Christmas. There are a load of games coming out in the run up to Christmas, Firmware 2 and Home, so all resources will be busy with other priorities for a few months and then focus on PSN Store.

I chose FW 2.00 because I think most of this will be integrated. The big announcements will be about White Knight Story, Metar Gear, and Final Fantasy. Perhaps some new Level 5 game will be revealed. At any rate. Perhaps that elusive Final Fantasy Crisis Core PSP demo that has escaped us thus far will finally be unleased to the public!

My predictions:
*Rumble Sixaxis will be available in time for Christmas across all regions.

*Sony and NCSoft will announce Guild Wars 2 will also be available on the PS3.

*Firmware 2.00 will feature XMB in-game access, soundtracks etc. and will feature Home. To concide with Home, this update will bring a Store Redesign.

*Amazing Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy 13, Final Fantasy Versus 13 will be shown and it will be announced that all these will be exclusive to the PS3. MGS's relese date will be confirmed for March ?? and FFXIII's will be confirmed for the rumored May 15 release date.

*Heavenly Sword, White Knight Story, and all Sony's First Party will be shown off.

*Some announcement nobody will expect, it happened at E3, and it would have happened at Leipzig if the New Zealand Sony Guy hadn't said it in an interview.

*Sony will announce they and the Blu-Ray Disc Association have purchased Nintendo and will be putting a Blu-Ray Disc Drive in all Wii's or Sony will say they have purchased the Mario Franchise, and that was why they did that ISO thing.

I know this isn't really anything Sony can announce... but I am so hoping for some juicy Final Fantasy XIII news as well as the new Kingdom Hearts project. I want FFXIII info SO MUCH!

Other than that, I hope for a new Sixaxis and firmware features.

I really want Home, but a release date isn't a big enough announment. A rumble controller would be great, but what is missing for me is a GT5 release date, or at least a GT5 Prologue release date. I signed up for amazon to email me when the product becomes available, and they sent me an email yesterday. It said JUNE 30 2008!!! I'm sure this has to be wrong, unless they plan on the final release being in 2009. That would make me really mad. So that's what is missing from the poll. I am really confused and would love to know if Polyphony digital has any finality in store with reference to a release date.

Big ones im hopeing for:

-Sony buys out Rockstar. GTA will go exclusive!
-Home with FW2.0 in mid October or after the show!
-Store re-design in FW2.0
-GT Mobile for PSP gets release date.
-PSP to come in Yellow and Red.

I bet it will be Firmware 2.0 a release date for MGS4 HOME release date some exclusive games to be announced from NCsoft and maybe just maybe something crazy like GTA4 PS exclusive LoL I don't know I have a feeling something crazy is bout to go down... hmmmm

i so freaking want to be able to chat while in game, listen to my music in game and watch divx, so firmware 2.00!!!

but man, a remake of FFVII is a good reason enough to own a PS3 haha
if square want to make lot of cash, they know what to do, but why wont they do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fuck! they made a remake of the intro and then a FFVII movie! the character model are made, whats left to do for the games!! arrrrrrrrg
