Worldwide PS3 releases for the week of September 10th

This week's release list can only be described as ... heavenly. We've been waiting for a long time for this. Heavenly Sword is finally available to the masses this week and we can't wait to get our hands on it. Here's the full release list:

Asian Games

Check it out. Two potentially great games being released simultaneously throughout America and Europe. This is what we really love to see. As for Megazone 23: Aoi Garland, we've never heard of it. If you're intrigued and want to try it out then go right ahead, your PS3 will play games from any region. Release dates are constantly subject to change, so always keep that in mind.

It's after the story on Star Ocean 4 being ps3 exclusive. ;) Pretty sure that's unconfirmed though.

I'm just going to say this once more, for the record, before people can accuse me of being on the inevitable bandwagon.
Heavenly Sword will not be an outstanding game.

It will be "good", but not the killer app people have been waiting for on the PS3. Another damp squib like Lair.

i just rented lair.

its okay.

but the initial battle lasted too long because there's no indicator as to where your remaining enemies are or how many there are.

its a FANTASTIC looking game, but if they don't patch up the controls slightly, offer analog support, and the option to skip those hour long CGI scenes...i won't be buying it.

anyways, Heavenly Sword is probably gonna be short as shit, but it should be fun. I'm coppin'.

Metacritic scores are +25% higher for HS than Lair AND it is a much more accessible fighting game than Ninja Gaiden, more in the God of War / Shadow of the Colossus vein...it will sell just fine. It also has pre orders that are more than Lair and Warhawk combined.

Go back to waiting for Halo 2.1 and let PS3 owners enjoy their games...mkay.

I am a proud owner of my PSwii60 and I have to say, my wii and ps3 will be collecting dust while I play Halo 3. Why don't you stop hating on a series you've probably never played before. That or you just suck at it. Either way. As I see it, Heavenly sword will be a rental, ill pass on lair (panzor dragon is probably more fun than it).

What's 25% higher than a disappointing - average game? Good - very good. Not outstanding. That's the point I was making. PS3 fanboys get all up in a lather when an above average game comes along because there's been such a decidedly average fare so far. I note that Play Magazine gave it 100%, whilst citing Motorstorm as racing perfection. That quote alone should throw their reputation (if any) out the window. And yet Official PS Magazine only gave it 70%, which is odd considering they generally rate titles 10% higher than everywhere else. I know it will sell just fine, the PR guys have seen to that. I'm not talking about sales, I'm talking about quality.
I would prefer more games like Ninja Gaiden to be honest, it's the only PS3 game I actually play at length any more. Everyone seems to want dumbed down button bashers and complain about difficulty when a title that requires skill comes along. Typical EA-garbage fed gaming sheep.

And FYI I don't own a 360 or original Xbox for that matter, and don't like Halo. But I love how anyone not verbally making love to each and every PS3 release on this blog is labelled an M$ fanboy. Based on your preorders argument Halo 3 has more than every PS3 game yet sold put together, regardless of how much it may (and will) suck. Like I said, sales =/= good games.

Meh, im gonna pass on Heavenly Sword.. I wasnt impressed with the demo; NGS has a much better fighting mechanic (let me jump damn it)...

I suck at sports and racing games, so, the other 3 releases are out too.

And yes Ninja Gaiden Sigma is awesome (it was awesome back 3 years ago) Ninja Gaiden 2 will be even better.
(Itagaki won't go Multiplatform so as of yet it's still only for the 360)

Halo 3 is Nuts! I'm not sure how people can hate on it what with the load of content and customizations involved. i'm sure if it came on PS3 most people would change their attitude towards it.

Heavenly Sword, man i wish you were a bit meatier of a game or i'd buy a PS3 for you.

Halo 2.5 was the name given to the next Halo by HALO FANS back when X360 was still an MS wet dream. Now...2 years (almost) after the X360 was launched they are finally getting their next Halo installment...thus the 2.5 reference.

I really don't care for halo......I mean yeah its a great shooter, so was halo 1 and two....my point is that while halo will sell consoles and games it won't be this phenomenon everyone kept making it out to be....why?...well simple because halo 3 is targeting the same people 1 and 2 did....I highly doubt halo 3 is going to pull in new players...just the same ones from 1 and 2....yeah halo is really good and all...but to make it out to be this all to be all game is ridiculous.....I was at my friend house once and he had halo 2 on his 360....I played it and for about 15 mins I got bored...so I might pick halo 3 up later in 2008

and another thing, I plan on picking up HS anyway...why?..well if you followed the gaming press as much as I have you relies how much of a weird anti-sony vibe these people have...I mean its so uber-cool to bash the ps3 people might be just rating the game low anyway just for fun...I know how fanboy that just sounded but whatever

We'll see how much of a failure HS is when the sales numbers start rolling in. I'm going to go ahead and say it'll match Resistance and Motorstorm for overall sales without breaking a sweat.
Now, to go finish Bioshock; I've got a ps3 game besides Warhawk to look forward to this week.

And one thing I don't understand about Metacritic and all these other sites is how people seem to have this concrete idea of how good or bad a game is. BEFORE IT IS EVEN ON SALE. It's just...stupid.

why do people constantly bring up halo 3 in this place? it gets really old. i dont have xbox or 360 and just beat both halo 1 and 2 on pc and they are really good games and i will be buying it on pc when it finally comes out on it but it just isnt enough for me to want a 360 for the high price tag and because pretty much every game for it comes out on pc eventually. anyway, i think HS looks awesome and will be buying it. didnt buy lair because watching the gameplay and trailers before it came out i could tell it was just a pretty game that would suck. i will also be buying nhl 08 havent bought a new one since 05 i'm getting kind of pumped. i just cant wait for drakes fortune to come out.

Hey, there were some TV ads last night (here in the UK) for Heavenly Sword, a 5 days before release date!!!

Are Sony's Marketing department finally starting to wake up? I do hope so as the system has been woefully under-marketed in the UK.

hey sprayed, thanks for doing the google search for me. =) there's those that WERE calling it Halo 2.5 of course because the ending was unfinished.

Now that Halo 3 is well, everywhere, i think calling it Halo 2.5 now is sorta demeaning/retarded agreed?

And yeah some people don't care for shooters but the PS3 is still getting some top notch FPS right? but Halo 3 is doing so well with their marketing right now drawing in gamers NEW to Halo and even getting in Time Magazine. it will dominate a huge chunk of everyone's time no matter if they are new or veterans.

@1nut Halo 3 will definitely arrive someday on PC and by then I could afford a rig to run it, but by then something else will come along that calls for my attention.

all my buddies are on xbox live and waiting for Halo 3. so that is why i'd like to play Halo 3 now than 3 years from now.

and for the record Ninja Gaiden > HS. God of War is not as fun second time thru, Especially when you can't wear a new costume, yet are fighting to unlock a new costume to wear only on that difficulty setting. It won't stop me from getting GOW 3 but still, kinda lame.

Shows what a great impression the 'dude going to the boxing gym' made on me as I can't recall it.

My point is though that SONY need to really pull their finger out and get some cracking advertising going. Stories such as '??% of PS3 owners don't know about Blu-Ray' are ludicrous. Heck, we don't even get release notes for Firmware upgrades!

I love Playstations, always have and PS3 is a phenomenal machine but, I have real concerns that SONY aren't doing enough to promote this console.

I think the PS3 is doing just fine it's going to start picking up this holiday and going on into next year! I mean right now the two giants are going to really be swinging and just to answer the Demo question of HS that was 8 month old build which was still very impressive this game is going to do pretty well Game Informer already gave it a 8.8 and gamerankins has it at 83% with still Gamespot left to review it! I'm a gamer and I own both systems and this is my favorite time of the year you got Xbox with Halo 3 PS3 with Haze/Killzone MSG4 still on it's way COD4 for both systems Assasins Creed and more!! Damn fellas... we are bout to be broke as hell!! LoL

Ok I know this a Bit off topic but true PS Fanboys should know this game! You remember a game called ICO *The same people made Shawdow of the Colosos* that game out very early in the PS2 live!? If so you remember how that game was and still is one of the Diamonds in the rough that are just awe inspiring when you play and it's only like 8 hrs to complete but one that you can't put down!! Either way I have a feeling with all the high tec motion capture the story and just the fun gameplay that this may turn out to be another ICO! I really hope this game turns out too!

What's with all the flaming? If you actually LIKE GAMING and enjoyed GoW then you will surely love HS, period.

By the way, the Lair controls patch makes it playable now =)

C'mon, someone here was hinting that HS was on par with Halo3 and that's a pretty dramatic idea to me. HS looks like a nice game and all, but I don't think its PS3's great white hope. Seems the PS3 only people will need to bear with the hype and just give some credit to MS on their title. Its a good game (though I'm not too into it myself) and it makes you sound silly to trash it. Hopefully the PS3 will get a power title like that soon too.

saying Halo 2.5 is like saying it's an expansion which it isn't.

Half life 2 came out with episode 1 and 2 instead of a Half life 3. these are expansions or Half life 2.2 and 2.5.

Halo 3= New installment in the Halo franchise.
