Ratchet and Clank PSN demo (finally) dated
IGN is reporting that they have finally found out when the Ratchet and Clank demo will be availaboe on the PSN. The demo has supposedly been ready to go for months now but Sony has simply refused to put it up for download. All that will change, however. Come October 4th we'll all be playing the first level of our favourite PS3 mascot platformer. Presumably this is the US release. No doubt the EU PSN will get it around ... January 2008? If we're lucky.

Man, Is Sony trying to sabotage themselves and collect on the insurance? Seriously, Sony get it together. This game is a system seller. It works to your advantage to get this out asap.

Typical of Sony to delay something that the fans have been clamoring for. I don't know who makes these brilliant decisions over there but I'd like to slap them upside the head. Xbox Live owns the PSN in terms of sheer content. I know it's pnly been a year but the PSN has been underwhelming to say the least.

Come on Sony!! I love ya, but get your shit together please!!

there has got to be a reason why everything with sony is clammering around the end of the year. ME thinks sony has got something yet to be revealed up their sleeve.

Stop complaining, at least they've dated the demo and we know when to expect it now. They probably have other demos to give us in the upcoming few weeks before this one drops.

would be good if the demo came oct 4th and the game sept 28th

I knew Sony was holding shit back. lol! those blood sucking bastards. They know there aren't that many good games for the PS3 but so they make you suffer by holding out the demos to help you pass the time. Are they trying to hold out on Demos until Home comes out so they can have a big section of demos?
ruibing @ Sep 11th 2007 4:48PM
I'm sure they have their reasons, though hard to say if its a good one. It was "supposedly" finished so its hard to say if it really was. Or Sony might just be waiting to put it up during a PSN drought. Who knows?
I have all the Ratchet & Clank series (all three except Ratchet Deadlock) for the PS2 and I am looking forward to this one.

Jem, I like the way you specifically stated '2008' for the Euro release. ;-)

There has to be something up Sony's sleeve... For all we know perhaps they added to the demo or tuned it up a bit to make sure that when it does drop it's an eye catcher.. Just my two cents
Egster @ Sep 11th 2007 4:41PM
It makes sense to hold a demo back untill like a week or two before the release of the game. What's the point of releasing a demo when the game is still 2 months away. Anyone with half a brain would understand the reasoning.
joey2joey @ Sep 11th 2007 4:45PM
If they release it early then the novelty will drope once the game actualy comes out. Demos are meant to get people to buy the full game and if they release months before the game and the demo would lose its marketing efect.
never$$hort @ Sep 11th 2007 4:45PM
The last 2 PSN store updates were a big step-up from the way things were previously and they are actually starting to kick-a$$ now. It seems to be a continuing trend now so I wouldn't worry anymore, at least I'm not... This will be another welcome addition, keep it up Sony!!
freker @ Sep 11th 2007 5:19PM
whoa, this excites me.
I wonder if this means an Uncharted demo is on the way sometime too?
What would excite me more is if I could get my original R+C games to work on my PS3!
apease @ Sep 11th 2007 5:29PM
Good grief, for one thing, if you release a demo too early you risk people forgetting about it by the time it's actually released.
Also: The article linked is to UK.ps3.ign.com, dateline UK... and the release date is from SCEE! That's Sony Computer Entertainment EUROPE. I wonder when it will be released in Europe.

"ME thinks sony has got something yet to be revealed up their sleeve."
Me too. I think its a couple of surprise releases like Afrika and 8Days, this holiday season!!!

I love how Andrew Yoon sucked up to Insomniac on the last podcast, after bashing the game for being more of the same just a week earlier. Time will tell if it's different enough to be a system seller. Not convinced, myself.
