European PSN updates for September 13th: Confused edition
Today we don't have ThreeSpeech to tell us exactly what's up on the PSN store (presumably, they're as much in the dark as we are). We actually have to check the Store ourselves to see what's what. Unfortunately, we're nowhere near our PS3s to check ourselves so we're going to have to rely on you, the reader, to tell us. According to some of you, today's release list looks like this:- Fifa 08 demo (free)
- NBA Live demo (free)
- Harry Potter demo (free)
- Motorstorm Rally Car and Bus vehicle pack (£1.49)
- Ninja Gaiden Weapons Master add on (£2.99)
- Loco Roco trailer (free)
[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

Good news for Fifa lovers in Europe who have a PS3. The 360 demo isn't there yet.
Off topic, I just picked up Heavenly Sword and if I put $5 down on Ratchet and clank I would get a free demo disk for the game. It was a no brainer. So ask about the demo disk.
neno1717 @ Sep 13th 2007 1:14PM

i just played fifa 08 and i have to say i'm totally disappointed. the graphics are ok, but not what i expected. the framerate is stable most of the time in-game, BUT the introduction of the stadium, players. formation, etc. (which is in-game kind of also) made my eyes bleed. THE FRAMERATE WAS LIKE 15 FPS! also the minimal volume-increase of about 10% when someone shoots a goal is a joke.
you can play one half of 4 minutes with different teams.

I live in Denmark and surprising got the same as Sweden, no FIFA 08 demo too ;(I think it's because they haven't translated the menus to Danish (and Swedish).. Arrh maybe we aren't best to English, but we can easily read and understand it.. I think I will make a UK-acount then! For lige at udrykke det på dansk, så synes jeg det er pænt irriterende at vi ikke fik FIFA 08 demoen, jeg tror lige jeg opretter en UK-account :D
Oduen @ Sep 13th 2007 1:34PM
Australia generally gets the same as Europe, but we did not receive any of the demos today.
Jakob @ Sep 13th 2007 1:35PM
No I just download it from US (you know all Europans live in US too - only with their PS3 :P)
singularity87 @ Sep 13th 2007 1:39PM
Austria got the same as Sweden and Denmark. There is also episode 5 of the HS series.
ruibing @ Sep 13th 2007 1:49PM
@3
I think this is why I am staying away from all sports games until they get it together a build a real version for the PS3. I rather save my money on the better games, because buying these games that don't even make use of the SPEs is like supporting their laziness. I'd much rather buy Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm, Uncharted, MGS4, FFXIII, Last Remnant, Haze, and Ratchet & Clank.
Leo @ Sep 13th 2007 1:52PM
I wish I had enough to blow money on HS. But I don't. But I do have the money to blow on a rental! And seeing as it's 8 hours long, that's probably a good idea. Does anyone know if Blockbuster has it yet, and if not, when they'll get it?
rav97 @ Sep 13th 2007 1:59PM
Here in Italy we got everything (the UK did). Download is very, very slow.
Peter @ Sep 13th 2007 2:09PM
Ireland didn't receive NBA or FIFA demos.
Jakob @ Sep 13th 2007 2:08PM
I've just made an UK account. And it's downloading right now. I hope they won't split Europe. Annoying to downlad stuff from 5 regions; Denmark, US, UK, Japan and Hong Kong!
ClarkyCat @ Sep 13th 2007 2:10PM
I'm in Ireland, the list for here is as follows:
MotorStorm vehicle pack - Rally Car & Bus
Harry Potter Demo
Ninja Gaiden Sigma pack - Weapon Master
Heavenly Sword Trailer - Day of the Warrior
Cocoreccho trailer
upz @ Sep 13th 2007 2:20PM
These updates should really be released on a more regular basis so the PSN doesn't turn into a big jar of molasses on Thursday nights.
Higgyfella @ Sep 13th 2007 2:44PM
so.. anyone actually played the harry potter demo? whats it like? any good... for a non harry potter fan that is
Tha Key @ Sep 13th 2007 2:57PM
NBA 2K series has always been hot since the first.
KeVil @ Sep 13th 2007 3:02PM
Last I checked most Irish people speak English...what weird localisation reason does SCEE have for the difference in the UK and Irish store. Didnt know they tried to sample in the Dublin accent in all these games
rd2000 @ Sep 13th 2007 3:03PM
@ 12 /sigh I have an EU, UK, JPN,HK,US and Australia too, since they have some interesting music videoes in 1080p from aussie bands on there.
JarOfFlies @ Sep 13th 2007 3:04PM
Ireland didn't get Fifa or NBA.
Brunno @ Sep 13th 2007 3:12PM
No FIFA nor Potter demos on the Portuguese Store. I guess it has to do with almost every content being translated to Portuguese... that might cause a delay.
We also got the two final Heavenly Sword videos (both anime and making of).
thaylinsgate @ Sep 13th 2007 3:24PM
Not available for me in Canada yet. Should be soon.
Jakob @ Sep 13th 2007 3:30PM
No I think this is because of the contries size. Both Denmark, Ireland, Portugal, Austria, Sweden etc. is small contries, not in area, where both Sweden and Denmark (if you count Greenland) is much bigger, but in population; Denmark 5,6, Sweden about 9 mio. UK: 60 mio.I think also that the German, French and Spanish Store has got FIFA. Why? I've no idea, it just sucks :D
Joe @ Sep 13th 2007 3:53PM
Id love to be able to download these things; But the system update wont even download, so I'm pretty screwed until tomorrow.
singularity87 @ Sep 13th 2007 4:06PM
@23 Maybe you're right, but until today Europe always got the same downloads...except for Germany (I think they didn't get the 16+ demos).
At least Ireland and UK should still get the same stuff since there are no translations to be made.
The same should apply for Austria, Switzerland and Germany (if they got FIFA).
PLZ Sony give us a world-wide store!!
massive_98 @ Sep 13th 2007 7:23PM
@15
I was thinking the same thing. Even if they spread it over two days it would be better.
Are you listening Sony?
How about Monday and Thursday?
Ian @ Sep 14th 2007 3:15AM
Well, the UK update was pretty smart! 3 demos (count them! 3!!) and some videos (does anyone download these?).
There are comments in this thread about FIFA not making some local Euro Stores but, I can assure you that it's just another FIFA iteration. If you like FIFA you'll probably like the demo. For me, PES is king and trying out the FIFA demo has only served to remind me I hate FIFA with such a passion (I use 'FIFA' as a swear word).
Well done to SONY for such a great update this week. It's a really tough job SONY have as weak/no updates get panned and yet an update with 3 (for most countries) demos doesn't receive the accolades it deserves.
Ian @ Sep 14th 2007 3:29AM
Sorry, I forgot to mention that extra downloadable content was also released this week.
All in all, this makes for possibly the biggest update to date (excluding the updates consisting entirely of 348 Heavenly Sword animees and 'making of' films).
Luxracer @ Sep 14th 2007 4:00AM
No Fifa or Nba for Luxembourg :-(
Roman @ Sep 14th 2007 5:25AM
Spain got Fifa and all the others.
Fifa 08 is insanely crap. Graphics are brilliant, the looks of the game etc is great.
But the gameplay is god awful. Played football games since 96, and real life football since way before, and this is just poor.
It's so unbelievably slow! Football is a much faster game than this, especially if youre playing world class teams.
Once again, Fifa has all the licensing done perfect, graphics are great, but the gameplay is turd.
Wish they would combine the looks and presentation of Fifa, with the gameplay from PES. That would be so much better.
