Logitech's shiny Bluetooth keyboard and headset
Need more accessories that match your PS3's sexy piano black coat? Logitech has got your back. Coming soon are a Bluetooth gaming headset and a Bluetooth keyboard with touch pad, both in that shade of black that PS3 owners can't get enough of. The laptop runs on 2 AA batteries, but the headset comes with a rechargeable battery. The Cordless Vantage Headset and the Cordless MediaBoard Pro will retail for $79.99 each.
Just a guess, but maybe this Logitech headset is higher quality than the one bundled with Warhawk? Hardcore Warhawk fans (or those who bought the download version) might want to keep an eye out for this headset.

I'm finding other peoples voices very bad quality on Warhawk compared to XLive, I don't know if people are just using very bad quality headsets. I hope I sound better than people sound to me.

Do these require you to plug in a usb Bluetooth receiver?
TRUTH @ Sep 13th 2007 5:59PM
That is Sweeeet!!!
ruibing @ Sep 13th 2007 5:59PM
@1 - Are you using the same headset and everything? If not, then its your headset's fault. I don't see how XBLA has anything to do with improving voice quality.

@2.. it should syc directly with PS3 through BT. The USB bt receiver is so that non-bt computers can use it.. opens the market more.

So this can hopefully be used on normal pc's right? I wouldn't mind one for my htpc.

er same headset as what?
Voice quality sounds bad when I'm playing Warhawk if it's over my sound system or over 3 different Bluetooth headsets. I've heard other people complain about bad voice quality over the PSN as well.

Not sure how much this keyboard costs, but I have the logitech dinovo edge which is bluetooth and has a rechargeable battery - also in piano black. Much better, and it has the touchpad as well. I have it associated with either my PC or my PS3 depending on what I'm using.

I think Warhawk is lousy, as is R:FOM, at communication because it isn't so dedicated to it. XBL focuses on that as a strong point while the PSN just has it. Over the buddy chat via PSN, it's clear as a bell...unless the person you are chatting too has a bad wifi connection, that is. Now route 32 people with bad wifi connections and the free BT headset through an already crowded server and viola! Grainy, echoey, tinny, unreliable VoIP support!

I have found the sound to be pretty good when people actually talk.
I have a good group of PSN friends that have good mics and all speak english so I am usually playing with them.
I think the fuzziness is from the USB headsets. But I am not really sure.
Another thought here, if its the servers fault than shouldn't it be choppy voice chat not fuzzy?

-I also have the Logitech diNovo Edge, just picked it up a couple weeks ago... Its sick, I wouldn't trade it for this other one. It matches both my Ps3 and my Bravia XBR LCD perfectly, since both are piano black with metalic silver trim. The only downside to the diNovo is the price... $160+ some change on Amazon, cost even more retail...

80 bucks each? I'll just keep using my PS2 Keyboard and Mouse.
I hate having to recharge the stupid BT headset I got with my phone every hour, so for voice on Warhawk I just use my old Eye Toy =)
Some people sound pretty good and some sound like crap when on Warhawk. The people that sound good, consistently sound good. So I'm guessing it's not necessarily the PSN, but perhaps the client hardware or network.

As long as the keyboard comes with a dongle or something so I can use it with my 360 as well, I'm all over it. Been looking for a good keyboard for a while, and all the ones currently out there have too many cons; this one may just have enough good things to be (almost) what I want.
phattie @ Sep 13th 2007 8:21PM
Ive been thinking of the diNovo as well.. is it worth 2-3x the price of this one?
John @ Sep 13th 2007 8:29PM
I wonder how long the batteries last. That's a big turn-off, for me.

This keyboard will be sweet to use for UT3. Now I just have to pick up a bluetooth mouse.
With headsets on PSN, voice quality varies in Warhawk but no problems at all with Resistance.
h0mi @ Sep 13th 2007 9:20PM
I might want 1 of these keyboards... its a shame bluetooth trackballs dont seem to exist.
mccarj7 @ Sep 14th 2007 1:19AM
@phattie - if money is a problem, then it's probably not worth it. You basically would be paying twice the money for looks, the really cool light up feature when you use the Fn key, touchpad, or volume control, and the ability to recharge it. It has a nice stand and cleaning cloth too. It comes with a bluetooth dongle too, so you can use it on anything that has a USB port. I'm using in on my linux PC right now.
JKPierce @ Sep 14th 2007 1:32AM
Resistance uses a pretty elaborate means of keeping the voice audio at a high quality; Incognito didn't seem to go to the same lengths.
phattie @ Sep 14th 2007 9:48AM
thanks macari7... im gonna pass on the diNovo i think since the ps3 isnt my primary computer and i would have no other use for it... it definitely looks sweet though.. now, if they got the broswer to work better, it would eb a different story
KillarClown @ Sep 16th 2007 7:48AM
i find the biggest problem in warhawk is that people don't hold the L3 down long enough and either start speaking too early or cut themselves off.. duh face

The Keyboard does not work in Linux, not Yellowdog 4.2 and not Ubuntu 7.10
