More PixelJunk games coming this year
After the release of PixelJunk Racers, indie developer Q-games seems to have reloaded their casual game arsenal with at least two more titles up their sleeves. On the mildly confusing PixelJunk website, you can find a couple of teaser screen shots with release dates. An unnamed game that looks much like Tower Defense (screen shot above) is slated for November of this year.
Another nameless game that looks much stranger and much more difficult to describe has a date of December of this year. A screen shot of this curious game is after the jump.

Yeah, we have no clue either, maybe something to do with plants? Look for higher res versions of these screenshots here.

I really have been looking forward to playing a good Tower Defense game in stunning graphics. I wish them good luck.

You know, I think that the plant one might be a maze. Get from one end of the psychidelity to the other. Maybe your character is the little loopy string up in the left corner?

Sony have taken a rather odd path with its PSN titles. A lot of obscurities in there without matching quality.
Surely full scale PS2 or PS1 style games are realistic on this. Not every downloadable has to be a five minute blast.
Imagine an old style 2D action RPG with full HD artwork. It would be beautiful. Many genres which died with the advent of 3D now have an outlet.
Also it is sad to see Sony not seeing the potential in more updated classics. The Dreamcast era in particular springs to mind. Maybe even something like Daytona...online multiplayer... or even better the SNES secret of mana with 3 way netlink capability and reworked graphics :D

@Sammy: Are you suggesting yet another beautiful 2d side-scrolling Castlevania (with HD artwork) for the PSN?
Konami are you listening? How'd the re-sales of the PS1 SOTN on the store go?

A while back the page wasnt fixed up, and the links to the other screenshots were animated gifs and showed the file names. If I remember correctly, the Tower Defense one was called "Towerdefense" and the other "Ecorhythm"

For some reason lately I have heightened interest in the PS store downloadable games. I finally downloaded Tekken and Puzzle fighter the other night, and also got Lemmings, SOTN, and flow. Did anyone play Pixel Junk racer yet? How is it? I dont think it has online play but lets 7 players participate on the same console. If anyone has played it please shed some light, for $6.99 I just need 1 good reason to pick it up.
