EA steps into the survival horror arena with Dead Space

Details are coming soon, but as for now, we've got nothing on it. Our issue of Game Informer will roll around eventually, but we'd like something to tell you now. Game Informer's website tells us that if we loved the movie Event Horizon, or horror films, we'll love this game. We'll judge that statement later, but we're glad to see a new horror franchise enter. That way, we can choose between more than Silent Hill, Fatal Frame, Resident Evil, and Condemned. Well, maybe we'll get another Siren game in the future, but probably not.

Is it another FPS? :(

Raise your hand if you thought that was an announcement for Bioshock for the PS3 with added content and enemy types.

Being a a massive fan of Event Horizon, my interest has been aroused.

I was just asking myself the other day what happened to all the horror games

I would rather another Fatal Frame, just amped up! Those had some good scary moments that a new version could exploit in HD well - and its not an fps.

If another Siren game were to come, I would, contrary to other games, gladly welcome an action-injection as well as a bigger focus on combat instead of being one giant sneak mission. Who owns that IP btw?

"...if we loved the movie Event Horizon,..., we'll love this game."
That's all I needed to know. I will definitely PASS on this game.
Event Horizon sucked hairy, sweaty, donkey nuts.

EA. The same ea that was lazy, delayed and put at 30fps for the ps3 and kicked sony in the balls, are now apologising, right.

I too thought it resembled Bioshock (a bit to much actually)

So is this EA's attempt at "Bioshock in SPAAAAACE!!!"?

I'd get excited, but EA seems to be releasing tripe for the PS3 platform (and most other platforms). They are honestly the McDonald's of the video game industry churning out derivative junk and lacking any real innovation. Combine this with the fact that EA has an obvious bias against the PS3 (or perhaps Microsoft has offered some finanical gain for that bias), I am not looking forward to any title for the PS3 from EA unless its exclusive and running at glorious 60fps in 1080p mode. When EA hires some real developers not afraid of a little challenge (and not the DeVry Diploma of Gaming graduates they seem to be hiring), I will take them seriously.
