Videos showcase new FPS mode in Time Crisis 4

Maybe a fanboy shouldn't write about Time Crisis 4. For example, the graphics are far from revolutionary, looking more like a PS2 game than a PS3 title. Yet, the unique control mechanism of Time Crisis 4's new FPS mode certainly warrants a closer look. Instead of having a virtual mouse on the screen, players are free to simply aim at the screen. Really. Aim as you would a real gun, and fire away. These two new videos aren't filled to the brim with depth, but they show, at the very least, the potential that Time Crisis 4 has in bringing something new to the genre.

oh and @ twak...
apparently, you shoot with the guncon...so the 'gun' is in your hands. and a reticle should show onscreen to where you're shooting.
iono if they can pull this all the way off...
hopefully they do!

You SHOULD be able to use the Guncon 2. I have one, but haven't trid it. Anyone know if it works?

Games where you move in only one direction with PS2 level graphics are so next gen, I'm in on day one.

it's not terribly difficult to spruce graphics from an Arcade. in fact why didn't they leave this as a $20 PSN download?

All they need now is John Madden's voice for this! Yeah it is a shotgun is it not?! Like I want some guy telling what weapon I'm switching to every single time I switch weapons. That would make me want to take a gun to my TV and shoot it.

To people complaining about the graphics:
Since the game is focusing on the controls, thats their main priority, graphics will come later in the games development

Hahaha..this game looks so bad. The Madden announcer telling you weapon names, the awful 10 polygon cars and hallways, the genius enemies that stand still as you run down the hall and pwn them.
Did someone intentionally make it this lame? Or are arcade games a dying genre for a reason?

Please, until you have a gunrange in your backyard complete with living bodies and stuff exploding, shut up.
Time Crisis is a very fun game and it always has been. I don't remember any arcade game that ever really rivaled console games, so why should this one? You're expecting too much. The shear fact that you're actually holding a gun cancels everything out.
Sure the Wii controller makes this obsolete, but the Wiimote is not shaped like a gun. Just imagine Metroid with the Guncon.
@13 The game obviously can't be downloaded over PSN because you can't download a controller over the intenet. Duh.
