Crisis Core secret ending begs you to play FFVII
The secret ending of Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core shows a familiar scene for fans of Square's long revered RPG series. Could the "to be continued" that ominously appears at the game's end suggest a remake, like many have theorized? We'd hope so, but we remain skeptical. Most likely, the Final Fantasy team is pulling a George Lucas, reminding people of where this new effort lies in the overarching timeline. Of course, once Square realizes how much money they'll be printing with a re-release of the original Final Fantasy VII, we hope they come to their senses soon enough. Video embedded after the cut.

In truth the Story is continued in FFVII, so that Message at the end may not be suggesting anything other then that,....
However,. I Pray that is why they put it in,. I'd sell my soul for a PS3 remake of FFVII
kingofwale @ Sep 17th 2007 9:11PM
Please don't ruin the ending for me.
I'm one of the rare people who's currently playing Crisis Core right now who are yet to play FFVII.
My first FF game started at FFVIII. I guess after I finish CC, I will pick up FFVII for my PS3. although I'm not sure I can even stand the PS1 graphics.
ruibing @ Sep 17th 2007 9:12PM
I would easily preorder FFVII for the PS3 right now even if it was to be released years from now. The FFVII deserve a remake.
kingofwale @ Sep 17th 2007 9:13PM
...also, for those who are playing Crisis core. am I the only one who thought some of the cutscenes look even better than the FFVII movie?
Tim Parsons @ Sep 17th 2007 9:20PM
@4,. i've only seen it on the net and I argee it looks like the cutscenes are slightly Better then evne the movie,. It's awesome I wish I knew Japanese so I could play it right now,,. I can't wait till it's out in Canada
Tim Parsons @ Sep 17th 2007 9:23PM
@2 yeah the FFVII graphics for PSone would be hard to hack after playing Crisis Core. I've been tempted to pick it up to play a few times But i know i would never make it far b4 the graphics digusted me,.
kingofwale @ Sep 17th 2007 9:28PM
>. i've only seen it on the net and I argee it looks like the cutscenes are slightly Better then evne the movie,
from the various videos posted here before the release of the game, I can personally say it looks A HUNDRED times better in game. Maybe it's the way videos look on PSP's widescreen. but wow, I don't think I've ever watched a 3 minutes cut-scenes and still craved more at the end of it.
a pretty much MUST-Buy to any PSP owner, I personally think it's a PSP seller. Not only the graphics, the speed which it loads, the battle sequence loads MUCH faster than Brave Story (which has one of the fastest loads I've seen).
Tim Parsons @ Sep 17th 2007 9:42PM
Those are the kinds of Cut-scenes That Sqaure especailly in Final Fantays has become Famous if you will for,. AND I LOVE IT!!
100x better,. not that's going a lil far but they do look even better then the Movie,. Yeah the PSPS screen is Awesome!!! you wanan see amazing search for the Fight Cutscene on youtube to find a cutscene with the Dude all in Red, Angelo I beleive was his name and the S Man himself(yeha I not about to try spelling his name and too lazy to look it up. That video looks SICK,. I CANT WAIT TO GET THIS GAME IN CANADA!!!!
Tim Parsons @ Sep 17th 2007 9:44PM
@7 ,. how is Brave Story? was tmepted to buy it,. playing Jeanne D'ark right now.
kingofwale @ Sep 17th 2007 10:10PM
>how is Brave Story? was tmepted to buy it,. playing Jeanne D'ark right now.
I only rented it for 7 days and I was half way through it before I bought Jeanne (so I wasn't able to finish it), but it was RPG on PSP at its best. I personally would say it's the best pure RPG on PSP. and because of that, you get the usual problems with RPG, random battles.. so on
If you're a RPG fan, definitely wait until it goes onsale and pick it up.
Tim Parsons @ Sep 17th 2007 10:18PM
@10 the Usual RPG problems? LMAO i'm a HardCore RPG and Final Fantasy Fan so that won't bother me,. i was thinking of picking Brave Story or Dragoneer Aria up,. though Dragoneers Aria got harsh reveiws Brave Story got decent ones,. then again I might not get anything else on PSP till God of war and Crisis Core both come out in March too many games for PS3 coming out i want.
dbh1973 @ Sep 17th 2007 10:35PM
That "secret" ending is Squeenix's PS3 tech demo from E3 2005. My head tells me that this is just to let Crisis Core players know the story continues in FFVII on the PSOne. My heart is hoping this is the confirmation I've been hoping for that a PS3 or PSP remake of FFVII is on the way.
kingofwale @ Sep 17th 2007 10:37PM
>11. @10 the Usual RPG problems? LMAO i'm a HardCore RPG and Final Fantasy Fan so that won't bother me,.
then it's fine, I just got sick of running around in the dungeon and getting worn out because you get random battle with TOUCH TOUCH enemies. And what makes it worse is, I don't think you get a map. so you really don't even know where you're supposed to go half of the time. and it has some serious long dungeon levels.
but on the positive, i like the battle system, the duo attack mode's pretty cool. the graphics' quite decent.
Tim Parsons @ Sep 17th 2007 11:08PM
If that really is the Crisis Core secret Ending( and yes it is or was the PS3 tech demo) Maybe they really are implying a Remake,. or just Teasing REALLY BAD!!
wisesayer89 @ Sep 17th 2007 11:27PM
the E3 05 demo was all in-game, this ending is in CG. they are different. plus the E3 tech demo showed the rest of the intro, it ends with Cloud getting off the train.
Tim Parsons @ Sep 17th 2007 11:36PM
@15 very true if i'm not mistaken Cloud took about 10 steps after getting off the train b4 the Tech Demo ended but still this is the same vid just cut a bit off,.
But still you know Sqaure either plans to make a remake, wants to get peoples reactions to see if they get really hype it b4 evne making one,. or the bastards like to tease,. Or it's the Ultimate BEST KEPT SECRET OF 2007 and will be UNVEILED at TGS this WEEKEND!!!,.
I WISH!!!!!!
LoyalistRevolt @ Sep 17th 2007 11:49PM
They need to decide are they making a sequel or not. Plus no one cares about crybaby loud.
g_t17 @ Sep 18th 2007 12:45AM

Beelzemon @ Sep 18th 2007 1:00AM
When I saw that, I burst into tears
Simply amazing, I can't expect when I receive the original copy... I'll finnish all the missions ^^
daniel-kun @ Sep 18th 2007 2:47AM
I'm already taking Japanese classes, but I think playing that game in Japanese now will just have me understand half of it... at most. So I have to wait for an English or German release, too. :-(
Pick up the pace, Squeenix!
And kingofwale, you can play FFVII _on your PSP_! I've already completely played through it on my PSP, and the graphics are good, except for the 3D-parts. The backgrounds and cutscenes are totally reasonable and enjoyable.
G @ Sep 18th 2007 6:33AM
This might probably be old news/rumor by the time I post this but, "Endless Crisis: Final Fantasy VII" on PS3.

CyborgSPIKE @ Sep 18th 2007 7:30AM
u guys are all complaining bout the origianl ffvii gfx, but ive picked it up for the first time ever and i cant believe how good it is. its a gr8 game, gr8 story, the gfx even look half decent. i would recomend buying a ps1 just for ffvii.
SKI @ Sep 18th 2007 7:56AM
"Of course, once Square realizes how much money they'll be printing with a re-release of the original Final Fantasy VII, we hope they come to their senses soon enough."
So you want it to be on the DS or Wii?
Tim Parsons @ Sep 18th 2007 9:26AM
@18 g_t17
Yeah you and me both, It's rather annoying,. As for me the Original Final Fantasy was one of the Games I got when I got my NES for the first time the other was Super mario/DUckhunt,. And I've been a total FF Hardcore Fan since.
Tim Parsons @ Sep 18th 2007 9:28AM
@23 SKI,.
F Those POS's they better bring it out on PS3
Tim Parsons @ Sep 18th 2007 9:36AM
@ CyborgSPIKE
Man I can't even enjoy certain PS2 games cuz the step back in graphics annoys me,. And I don't think anyone is doutbing the Game itself,. I'm certainly not just the graphics would would me now, the last time I played through the whole game was 2002,
Maybe once FFXIII is finished they can make this,. the last offical statement i read form Sqaure said even if they wanted to, Their staff is split up among projects right now, Crisis Core(were not now), FFXII, FFXIII(versus) and The Last Remnant, and there's just no one left to work on it.
ANd even if they don't FFXIII i''m sure will be awesome,. err I HOPE!!!,. FFXII was a total Let donw goddamn stupid Gambit system and the Bastards took out Tried & True Turn-Based for that shit?!?!
Plus the story was totally lacking,. and one thing that FF as always been great for is getting to know /falling in love with the charactors, and them interacting with each other and getting close ,. FFXII didnt have hardly any of that,. and the FMV/cutscenes were very few and far between.
Tim Parsons @ Sep 18th 2007 9:38AM
@1 damn I'm a lil rusty it's been since grade 8 LOL a good 15yrs at least so WTF does that even say? I picked out the obvious titles names hard not to but other then that??
Could Endless Crisis : Final Fantasy VII be the REMAKE??
Tim Parsons @ Sep 18th 2007 9:40AM
Well TGS starts the 20(thurs) And with all the Rumours stirring even more because of this ending Sqaure will No Doubt get nailed by questions about it,. so We'll have to wait and see what they say,.
Hopes they give some more FFXIII info too
zerojad @ Sep 19th 2007 4:16PM
No, this is different from the FFVII tech video. This one have the part "praying?" with Buster Sword AND speech.
weihan @ Sep 18th 2007 1:36PM
Hey guys, no need to look at the unsatisfied poor streaming video anymore, and one does not even have to finish the game to enjoy its incredible looking FMV, as i found them all available here:
http://www.gamecrapping.com/Game_html/Crisis%20Core-Final%20Fantasy%20VII.htm
I used to visit this site for PSP-formatted videos. This site got plenty of video of Crisis Core as well, both cutscenes and CG FMV (including those summons, oh, i like Odin!), all in PSP-ready mp4 format. and trust me, the quality of the FMVs downloadable there are like exact replicas of those found in-game (i wonder how they made it???).
I've finished the game. I must say it is easily a MUST PLAY for PSP owners. Eventho I've known Zack will die in the end of the game (everybody who follows FFVII series shld have known), and i thought i wouldn't be thrilled by the ending at all...but...
I was wrong, apparently.
After the death of Aerith in the ori FFVII, i could hardly find a game which can touch my heart..until the inevitable fate of Zack. The scenes of the vanishing DMWs one by one until only Aerith's the last one in his mind before the end, really earned my tears. I couldn't stop thinking about the ending, and the terrible fate shared among those great soldiers/heroes (Gene, Angeal, Seph and Zack). As a prequel, the story was exceeding my expectation, it's very touching and well-written. Overall, this game is of very high quality, good job Square-Enix and FFVII team. I was afraid this game was gonna spoil the reputation of FFVII, but it didn't. Definitely gonna pick up this game again when it is released in Eng.
Currently re-enjoying the awesome fight scene involving Angeal, Gene and Seph, thanks to www.gamecrapping.com.
Now I could only wish this website would make more FMV available for us to re-watch, especially the ending and hopefully the secret ending as well. Hope to collect all the beautifully rendered FMVs.
Definitely hope for a PS3 FFVII Remake. I hope SE would take its time and remake a decent quality one.
h8rain @ Sep 18th 2007 2:03PM
FF7 remade on the PS3 would almost be enough for me to buy a PS3. FF7 and FFT are probably my two favorite games (don't have a playstation, currently, but I still have those games in case I ever pick up one again). I will definitely have to pick up Crisis Core, and the FF Tactics remake for PSP.
T.J. Fuller, Jr. @ Sep 20th 2007 1:00AM
Is it just me, or did he sound like her said "Curst Fasto" (or, Eng. equiv., "Cirst Flass")? Maybe his head's still a bit muddled...
Anyway, I'd love to see FFVII remade not for PS3 but for PSP. A remake could take advantage of CC data on the memory stick and use it to unlock extra features in FFVII, or you could opt not to and still have a relatively unchanged experience, save for graphics and sound. That, and PS3 is still too much money to be worth a remake, while PSP is in dire need of good RPGs (and renowned titles in general) to boost its sales.
Really, looking at SE's product line, I'd say that they're taking a middle road nowadays, balancing out their releases between DS and PSP. For the reason I'd say that I wouldn't be surprised (yet horribly thrilled) if they released remakes of VII, VIII, and IX for PSP. I mean, FFXI already has IX's Tetra Master card game for online play, so incorporating that into a PSP existence would only strengthen things for SE.
Ah, to have I & II on PSP, III-VI on DS (II's out, IV's coming), and top it off with VII-IX on PSP (Tactics is already out for it). Yup, the hard-hitters of the Nintendo era on a Nintendo handheld, and the Sony gen (with the Nintendo games that were treated best by PSX rereleases) on PSP. What a wonderful world that'd be!
Fuzzymark1 @ Sep 26th 2007 9:39AM
Cant remember who said it so cant give a quote, but in an interview Square Enix said that they would not consider making a remake while people could still play the original FFVII on the current console systems (ie the PS2). Now that the PS3 has become Sony's main console, people can no longer play the game as the PS3 does not play PSone games. So as long as they havent changed there way of thinking, that would mean a remake should be in the works.
KM @ Sep 29th 2007 12:00AM
God, some of you people make me sick. I doubt you're even gamers. "Oh, I don't think I can play it because of the graphics." Doesn't a quality story, or gameplay mean anything to anyone anymore?! Thats like saying Mario Brothers sucks because its so old and the graphics suck. Sure, graphics are great, but I don't think the graphics made Guitar Hero, or Katamari Damacy. Sorry if I seem like I'm raving, but honestly, I'm so sick of hearing people saying a game sucks cause the graphics.
Fuu @ Oct 29th 2007 4:46PM
I just beat Crisis Core, and I watched the secret ending.
And now I think that if they /don't/ make a PS3 or PSP remake, I might just have to die.
Also, this game is pretty easy to play even if you don't know any Japanese at all, like me. I read that one game script on the web for the speaking portions, and for the rest of the game there aren't many tricky spots (except when collecting wood later in the game. That's really difficult if you don't have any idea where you're suppose to go, or what you're supposed to get for that matter. Same for the last dungeon.) But for the most part this game is playable for the English-only speaker, as long as you've played an RPG before. :D~
I loved this game, by the way. The animations at least matched or surpassed Advent Children in quality, and the facial expressions alone are to die for. Existing characters are kept very in character, and even if you don't know quite what you're doing the missions are fun as well. >W
