Sony releases Eye of Judgment press pack
People can say all they want about how the Wii is revolutionizing the gaming industry, but the first time we saw The Eye of Judgment in action, we really knew the next generation of gaming had arrived. And with about a month before the virtual card battler is set to release, Sony has released new preview copies to journalists throughout the land.
Games Radar received the awesome Eye of Judgment press pack, which includes the "magic cloth," a deck of cards the PlayStation Eye, the game, and exciting new screens and a trailer.
The trailer, which we've kindly embedded after the jump, features two wizards waging war with magical beasts in a spectacular hall, where we're sure many battles of its ilk were once fought. Admittedly, it's a little unspectacular after seeing Sauron whoop Gandalf's ass with real magic, but now, there's just no other way to play the game without a wizard's robe and staff in hand.

Holy crap this game comes with a lot of "stuff". Might be worth it just for the cam.

I'm not only excited for this game, but also the potential that the EYE has.

I like the general idea of this game.
However I have my doubts since that whole package might end up costing a lot. Also I don't like the idea there will be booster packs.
Zaphod Beeblebrox @ Sep 19th 2007 3:04PM
Is it true that this game with the PS Eye packed in will cost only $60? If so, I am in. The PS Eye has innovation written all over it.
gullum @ Sep 19th 2007 3:08PM
I also heard that the whole setup is gonna be $60 so if that's the case, count me in. I am not the biggest fan of card games but if it has an online component, it would rule.

if only this came out 5 years ago....=(

i'm getting it... but for the camera. Card battle gaes dont really interest me. I'll try it out cuz it sounds kinda cool, but not expecting much. The camera more than justifies the purchase. I have been using my 360 Live Vision camera on my PS3 and suprisingly the picture is MUCH BETTER than when I use it on 360. And that camera is actually a piece of junk, the specs on the EYE are impressive so I cant wait to get my grubby paws on that one.

I just want to know if the camera will work with a PC. This is the number one thing I want to know before I make my purchase...anyone heard anything about this?

I am glad to see there is some production value put into this game, which is really a showcase for the PS3 EyeToy. This unlike Nintendo's Wii Sports which while showcasing their motion control, its pretty much just weebles playing tennis.
HAAS599 @ Sep 19th 2007 4:15PM
@10 somebody will create a driver for it just like the other ps cameras so dont worry about pc compatibility
Sora57 @ Sep 19th 2007 4:21PM
No biggie, but could you spell judgment right? It's right there on the box.
edboy @ Sep 19th 2007 4:24PM
how come the title spells judgement without the "e" like judgment?
Popfrogs @ Sep 19th 2007 4:31PM
Judgment is a stupid word, I vote for a re-spelling.
Anyone who wants to add a logical E between the d and g, say "aye".
Tim Parsons @ Sep 19th 2007 4:49PM
Amazon say it's only $60 in oct, and Judgment is not a spelling Error ,. without the E is quite common

Egster @ Sep 19th 2007 4:59PM
I seriously doubt 60 dollar is including the camera.
Neptune @ Sep 19th 2007 5:08PM
Play.com preorder price seems to be 77.49 €

The original Eyetoy with a game was about $50. The standalone Eyetoy was about $20 less. I'm pretty sure that there will be a standalone PS Eye sold, so #8, you probably wouldn't HAVE to buy the game just for the camera unless...

One good, innovative game, then this will just be like the PS2's Eyetoy.

For those of you who just want the game for the Playstation Eye why not just get the eye for $40.00? http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=802782

Can NOT wait.
