TGS07: Home delayed until Spring 2008

PlayStation 3's social MMO Home has been delayed until Spring 2008, according to Kaz Hirai during the Tokyo Game Show press conference. A previous progress report from an anonymous beta tester gave the indication that development was behind schedule, so we're not too surprised. However, we would love to know if any updates have been implemented in the last month, if anyone in the notoriously secretive beta would like to speak up.

I hate to admit that as a ps3 owner... I'm getting real used to the idea of delays. Not happier about them though... how about a little of the old under-promise, over deliver?

I wasn't particularly excited about Home... but I was a little excited about getting something delivered on time.

I won't talk about the beta but just say that everything is going smoothly which makes this announcement kind of a shock. Based the last update I figured late October was when we'd get the final version but oh well.

I'm just hoping they extend the beta for us testers. The test is supposed end soon (I won't reveal the date in case it's a secret but I'm sure you'll find out from somebody). Oh well, in its current state I would say releasing now wouldn't be the best decision Sony's ever made but based on the progress they've made in the beta and based on all the stuff Phil showed at this past E3 has me scratching my head as to why we have to wait so long before it's finalized.

If I cared about "Home" I would be upset. I prefer a simple interface like LIVE. Hopefully "Home" is an option and not a app that is forced.

Lame. Very lame. I should have waited til 08 to get a PS3. Oh well. GTA, Metal Gear, Little Big Planet, Home. 08 will be awesome. I just hate being patient.

The worst thing Sony could do is release this unfinished. Home is a MAJOR project for the PS3 and to have this become a failure like Lair would be unacceptable. A delay to get it going in the right direction is something I'm sure all PS3 owners will enjoy in the end. In the end, Home will have more people using it than WoW has subscribers. They have to get this right.

Those that are actually lucky enough to become Beta testers, give as much feedback as you can to make this a quality product for all. I'm counting on you. *winks*

Don't be such drama queens. There are enough cool games coming out untill the end of the year. Both exclsuives as well as multiplatform. More than you can play or afford anyway.

I think these launch dates are Bull****, That's just to keep you hanging on. Always telling you it's coming, then ooops it's been delayed. Really now, You know they already knew that it wasn't coming out this year, Don't be fooled by the lies....

Blah blah blah, I hear the same bullshit everytime I go to a PS3 site, Sony this, Sony that, I regret my purchase, yada yada. You're all blowing things extremely out of proportion, like there's ABSOLUTELLY NOTHING to play on the PS3. Exclusives aren't the only games coming out for a system, and many people seem to forget that. Please remember all the cross platform games (COD4 FTW). Oh yeah, and just because a game didn't get a 9.9 on IGN doesn't mean you shouldn't buy it. Reviewers have extremely high standards for games, and considering most of you guys haven't played more than 3 games in your life, a 7 will seem like a 10 to you.

If you're that bored and absolutelly can't wait until you get Metal Gear 4, and don't have the money for a 360, whip out your old PS2 games and play them again. Oh yeah! It can play PS2 games. Aren't you glad the PS2 kicked ass? The good games are good no matter how many times you play 'em.

Hey, if you really hate your PS3, I could use a free one.

why would anyone try to justify the B.S of a company coming up short constanly and lieing to their consumers,if they dont know the damn release date then dont make one up and dont give a date if you cant deliver pretty simple really.it kills me how people post on here spouting off at posters telling them they have no right to be pissed or get a life or whatever other narrow minded insult they can come up with.this is here for people to post their opinions and its a free country girls if ya dont like it dont read it
