Haze injects nectar into controller, adds rumble
A cute new video for Haze highlights the PS3's newfound ability to rumble. How did they do it? Is it magic? No! It's nectar, the steroid-esque substance from the upcoming PS3 FPS. While some find it lame, we think it's a cute way of explaining the origins of DualShock 3.

Hm. That SEEMS like the rumble is more powerful than the Dualshock 2....
RatBoy @ Sep 29th 2007 9:29AM
So that's why it took so long. We've all been waiting on the nectar scientists and not some drawn out legal battle.

Is that one of the new SIXAXIS or is it just a DualShock 2 with a new power source and wireless capabilities.
Thomas @ Sep 29th 2007 10:43AM
This chrismas, those special Haze controllers aren't coming out in the US. unless mantel knows something Sony doesn't...

Lol this is soo corny but could have been a pretty cool ad if it was done a little better lol.
I hope this doesn't hint at what the story line for the game is going to be like lol.

Thats what I was thinking.
Well done video. This game looks great, and as with most PS3 games will get average reviews. While some unnamed games get 9.5's

This is a new form of advertising, attention-getting. It's very clever, take the diaphonous idea of a substance from a game, both of which are virtual constructs, and create a 'live concert' piece using real objects to represent a virtual construct, and then imply that the virtual object in the game, i.e., the nectar, has been taken from the game, rendered real, and is now having an effect on a real-world object in a positive way.
That is some crazy shizzle.
Yeah, I thought the cheesiness of this was really cool. I just wish we could have seen the nectar exiting the syringe. I think that's the major break that occurs in this string.
I also like how they showed the rumble at the end, like they were doing a movie trailer. And it was funny that it was exactly the same shot as before, though in this case it would have been better if they had done a zoom shot and increased the volume to earthquake velocity for the last shot. Gotta go over the top, with trailers.
And yeah, it DID look more powerful than the rumble I'm used to on ps2. Or maybe it sounded bigger. Not sure.
They said Xmas.
But everyone else is saying, Spring, for North America.

Super corny but friggin' hilarious.

That is one of the best commercials I have seen, but sooo corny.
daniel. @ Sep 29th 2007 2:58PM
OMG ITS NOT COMING UNTIL 2048!
Leo @ Sep 29th 2007 5:21PM
Yeah, it's meant to be corny, and that's why it's so good.

Haha, great!
G26-VERCETTI @ Sep 30th 2007 2:27AM
great way of showing the rumble i liked it and was all like omg so corny, but "lets try an even bigger dose" lol funny. cant wait for this game omg now i want some nectar.
JaseH @ Sep 30th 2007 3:15PM
"Did you hear that?.. AMAziiiiNG"
Haha corny. But I love itt.
Oh and by the way. My Daulshock 2 controller always moves one direction... forwards when it's vibrating upon a flat surface like the table. Yet, this one in the clip, tilts to the right, as if Only one side of the controller is Vibrating while the others are remaining silent.
Hmm. Interesting.
Anyway. To those speculating about "This Christmas"... it's probably referring to the GAME "Haze" while the title of it is set in view. Not the controller itself. Lol.
Although. I hope Im wrong. Cant wait.

are you kidding me? if that is seriously a commercial i feel bad for sony. they are trying to advertise rumble as if its a new technology when its blatantly their wrongdoing for scrambling with motion controls and not including it in the first place. fools.
