Gamestore: 40GB system arrives next week in Italy

Gamestore Magazine reports that the 40GB PS3 will be available for purchase next week, October 10th, in Italy. There will be a choice of two systems: a basic 40GB for €399, or a bundle which includes two games and an extra controller for €499.Either this is one rumor that simply refuses to die, or this is one of Sony's worst-kept secrets ever. The 40GB debacle seems to continue every day (in spite of Sony's denial of a "big bang" announcement) -- stay tuned for more.

It is still expensive, too fucking expensive. I really don't understand this. Sony saw how terrible the first Xbox did when it was released and it was only due to the high price. Even the "great games" couldn't save the console so they decided to come 1 year earlier with a half-ass console(360) than being the second again; and it paid off.
Sony had a HUGE market and they blew it. I, being a moron, bought Ps3 at lunch for 850$ CDN with 5 years of warranty but boy how much i regret it now. Not a single day without bad news. First of all not a single soul in Canada is ready to pay 560$ for a console that has around 3 good games out for it after a year. Second, developers are leaving one by one. Resident Evil, Assasin C. etc, should have been Sony exclusives not multi-platformers. UT3 should have been the center of attention in development but it isn't. why? well,
Lack of sell = pissed of developers ==> Less games ==> less motivation in people to buy Ps3.
it's a circle. I don't care how much Sony will lose if they announce another price cut but Ps3 should NOT be more than 400, period.
Ps3 40 G ==> 350 $
Ps3 80 G ==> 399 $
anything other than that is doomed to fail. either drop the price to under 400 or stop selling it. among my friends i am the only one who has a PS3 and by far the only one who has played the single fucking game for over a year.

JUST KEEP DROPPING THE PRICE. NO THERE'S NOT ANY EXPENSIVE TECHNOLOGY OR ANYTHING IN THE PS3 THAT WARRANTS THE PRICE AT ALL. SONY IS FUCKING US ALL.
I kid, anyone who keeps complaining about the price is a moron. I bought it for 599, and even that was a good deal considering a Blu Ray player can't even be bought for that price. Then you can start adding up all the other technology that's present in the machine.
Just sell it for 2 dollars Sony!

@4 and 5 your both idiots. so that meens the wii should be $100 and the 360 elite $250 STFU! Blu ray, cell chip(CPU), blue tooth tech, controller, HDD, invidia RSX(GPU), XDR RAM,cooling system, and software are all that warrents the PS3s price. if you dont got the money and you dont want what the PS3 has to offer STFU and buy something else, nobody is holding a gun to your head. The PS2 was $300 dollars without a HDD or half the options you find on the PS3 with no upgrades to improve your experience, did that warrent its price or maybe the totaly hot games that came out that year. like what you say? OMGZ NBA street. sarcasm :| But im thinking even the PS2 during launch was out of both your reaches. year you should be gratefull for a company to drop $200 off their product while allowing you to have most of the features from the premium version within their first. im guessing both of you only own a wii or was that too pricey too because of its last gen hardware.

tell that crap to those (almost 80% of the gamers) who don't have Ps3 since i already have one you ignorant fuck. even with the 550 $ they are not making profit but hell, which one would you choose? losing everything gradually or losing little at first but gaining your entire market later on? if you use that brain of yours (assuming you are capable of doing so) you may (or may not) realize that Blue-ray is not the victor in HD war, PS3 doesn't have enough games, it's online games are jokes and above all developers are pissed.
Have you played warhawk or H.S Poker online? have you listened to people online? Not a single day has passed without some of them complaining about the lack of games and they ALL have Ps3s. now go keep telling them "Blue-ray, Blue-ray." you either adopt with the market or you lose. Sony right now wants the market to adopt with its policies. Ps3 components are expensive because unlike Microsoft, Sony wants to give a quality product to its costumers BUT when it comes to immediate choice, Gamers would choose the console with already more games not the one with soon-to-be-having-fantastic games.
lastly, Have you seen the DS sell charts? PSP is superior device in everyway yet developers make games for a console that makes more profit, the one that has sold more, that annoying DS. I don't want to see the same happening to my PS3. Do you?
