Sony exec on Team ICO: 'pretty sure they're doing the sequel'

This less-than-a-confirmation statement from a Sony executive is shaky evidence at best, but fans of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus will grasp at any new information on the team's current project. OPM UK grilled Kaz Hirai and friends for as much as they could, but that's apparently the best they could unearth.

Shadow of the Colossus was set in the same mythos as ICO, but played very differently. Whatever Team ICO has ready for PS3 is undoubtedly going to impress -- but couldn't they at least tease us with even the tiniest preview of what they're working on?

I'd just love a remake of Shadow of the Colossus on PS3 with the full power of the PS3... Don't change a thing about the game at all, just remake it. (cept maybe more randomized boss locations, that'd be the only thing I change)

It's good to hear about it again. Honestly, knowing they'd be making a game at some point is one of the big reasons I knew I'd have to get a ps3.

I'd sooooo love another Ico game or even a Shadow of the Colossus....I just started playing Ico again....just for tha fun it (just a little at a time)

SOC sold pretty well in the end. Especially for a more obscure title. In turn it allowed for ICO to be re-released. I am curious as to what they are up to along with the Siren team. Sony Japan have been very quiet with absolutely no first party games at all it seems. Game Republic don't really count.

I live to see Colossus on the PS3. The things they can do on that machine will be unbelievable. I'd have to guess if nothing is currently in the works, it will be at least 2 more years though. :(

SoC without the framerate drop and jaggies would be a win in my book. Just do a straight-up port, release it to the PSN store for $10, I'll buy it.

IS ICO and SOC in the same Universe? It would be awesome if the 3rd game was a connection between the 2 somehow. If they announced a sequel to either of the 2, well great but I would prefere something new as you know team ICO will come up with something unique.
