Rumors ahoy: Parasite Eve and Konami and bears, oh my!
It's time to get back into the business of speculation and rumors that don't consist of different PlayStation SKU's. While everyone loves talking about the convoluted and outright confusing backwards compatibility issue with the new 40GB model, we think it's better to continue pushing forward and offering some rumors that have surfaced in the latest EGM.Konami and Hideo Kojima might be working on another PS3 exclusive, first off. We know what you're thinking, but no, supposedly the game is not the third Zone of the Enders title. We wish we had any more to say, but that's all we know. Secondly, long time fans of the amazing and amazingly under-appreciated Parasite Eve titles cried foul when it turned out a new game was being made exclusively for mobile phones. Square Enix is apparently listening to these cries and have begun work on a console version, though the consoles it will appear on is unknown. We don't see why they wouldn't continue shoving Aya onto Sony platforms -- exclusive or not. Thirdly, bears are frightening, unless qualified by a humorous story. That is all.

I would love another Konami and Hideo Kojima exclusive. Can't wait to play the first one when it hits. Square enix has been acting funny lately in my opinion. Releasing Parasite eve on a cell phones has to be one to the worst ideas I have ever heard of. It is taking them forever to release the FF13 games. And the multiplatform approach they are talking about is awful. The systems are to different for any multiplatform game to be great. The Wii has a really good controller scheme, but the graphics suck. The xbox 360 has good online, but it's graphics are no where near what the PS3's could be. PS3 has the sixaxis and blue ray disc. A multiplatform game can not take advantage of each consoles' strengths.

Just to add my own opinion to my own post, my problem with the Parasite Eve cell phone move is that the Parasite Eve games were ALWAYS touted as "cinematic experiences" -- they used a ton of cinematics, and I just can't see that representation of the titles shifted onto cell phones. If Square Enix makes a new PE game, it simply has to go on a console in my opinion. Or else, the one thing they used to set it apart from other games means nothing. Or something.

Parasite Eve on the cell phone in Japan is probably a great game. Japanese cell phones are way beyond ours in terms of graphics and sound. I am glad they are thinking of bringing the series back. The first game is one of my favorite RPGs.

Me, I'm just depressed this isn't another Zone of the Enders game. That thing on a PS3, wow. The 2nd game was just so over the top awesome. I'd imagine I'd have a seizure just playing through the first PS3 sequence. I must have that game. I guess Paradise Eve is ok too.

I agree with Otam. I really loved the PS Parasite Eve games and I would love to see a new one on the PS3.
