Worldwide PS3 releases for the week of October 7

US Games European Games
Asian Games
Not a bad haul. We're really pleased to see that Folklore is being released in the same week in Europe and America. We're also happy to see Skate finally get its PS3 release over in Europe. As for Asia, we're intrigued to see how well Lair (named Rise From Lair over there) sells, considering its critical acclaim.
Don't forget, if there's a game on the list that looks interesting to you then feel free to order it, regardless of territory. Your PS3 loves games from other regions. Release dates are subject to constant change, so make sure you check with your local store before venturing out of the house.

How many more weeks till Ratchet and Clank?
Deviation @ Oct 7th 2007 3:25PM
Three weeks until Ratchet & Clank.
ruibing @ Oct 7th 2007 3:34PM
After Ratchet & Clank will be Uncharted and Haze. What a wonderful time to have a PS3.
Egster @ Oct 7th 2007 4:18PM
Folklore is great guys. Seriously.
wonway01 @ Oct 7th 2007 4:28PM
I'll be picking this one up for sure. Demo was good and I really liked the use of the sixaxis on this.
Samuraidino @ Oct 7th 2007 4:46PM
Why is Otacon on the cover for Folklore :P
finelicker @ Oct 7th 2007 4:57PM
finally, skate hits the EU, I've been playing the damn demo to death. I'll have to listen to my piss taking 360 freinds spout off about their version though. Oh well, at least I know my console will last longer than the game does ;)
Jason @ Oct 7th 2007 4:59PM
Believe it or not I really like Lair. I hope it sells very well in the Asian market, Factor 5 deserves it.
I do not care what any reviewers say, to me Lair is a ton of fun and the motion controls are absolutely awesome.
finelicker @ Oct 7th 2007 5:00PM
Oh it worth mentioning whenever you point out that the games are not region locked, their online capability may be compromised depending on where the game was bought from, eg server locations etc etc.....

Folklore looks amazing. I loved the demo - the combat is so unique. Lots of load times and the non-voice acted cut scenes piss me off, but as long as I get to kill giant monsters, I'll be satisfied. Anything to hold me off till Ratchet and Clank.

Can't wait for Folklore, but I'm not sure if I want to buy or rent it. It will be a good October/Halloweenie game to play. I just wish we had actual FALL weather here instead of spring weather.
Deviation @ Oct 7th 2007 6:22PM
@9: Wouldn't the online region stuff be determined by the region of your PSN account and not where the game came from?
Frank @ Oct 7th 2007 6:26PM
@7: "Oh well, at least I know my console will last longer than the game does ;)"
And you guys wonder why 360fanboys keep coming to our site, here's one of the reasons! And unprompted bashing of a rival system, to achieve what?
JaseH @ Oct 7th 2007 7:02PM
Frank, While I agree with you 50%... don't be an asshat and be real here.
At least he's doing it HERE... on PS3 fanboy, and not Over at X3F.
Understand??.. or are is that too much for your brain to COMPUTE?!!

Phizzy @ Oct 7th 2007 7:38PM
@12: No, online region locking can be on the disc. I got a Yank PS3 before EU launch and I couldn't play online with resistance until the global online patch.
Additionally, Warhawk considers your console's region your region. I bought it from the UK Store and when I put the server region filter on 'my region', I get nothing but American servers.
Frank @ Oct 7th 2007 7:55PM
JaseH, my point is that there's probably a lot of 360 people over here just reading our forums for knowledge, not to start arguments. They might read through the comments, and see a bunch of ps3fanboys bashing 360 for no good reason. Which might cause them to post a comment, which then starts a flame war, which then leads to tons of ps3 owners posting "LOL WHY DO 360 PPL KEEP COMING ON HERE??". This post is about ps3 games this week, why on earth would we need to talk about anything else. Sorry about the rant, it just seems ironic when ps3 owners are constantly inciting 360 owners with sniping comments about their system, and then wonder why there are so many flame wars on here.

sicklesdawg @ Oct 7th 2007 7:55PM
Will pick up Folklore! R&C maybe.
Shattercross @ Oct 7th 2007 8:29PM
@16
Dude, 90% of the time a 360 fanboy starts the flame war- not to mention that the ps3 gets raped when it comes to joystiq's comments, or anywhere else... be real here, there would still be flame wars if all the ps3 owners on this forum showed all the courtesy in the world to our 360 rivals...why? 75% of all xbox 360's are out for repairs at any given time- what else are the 360 fanboys gonna do?
Frank @ Oct 7th 2007 9:36PM
One could also say that we're on here just as much with our lack of games. Regardless, the amount of time spent on web pages has no direct correlation with one's gaming system usage. But way to further my argument with your response.
stirlo @ Oct 7th 2007 10:37PM
lol true, even on ps3forums.com, i'd say at least 50% of the users are there purely to bash ps3!
half the threads are derailed by Trolls, or stealth trolls that pretend to have a ps3 and have complaints about it that are outdated / debunked by at least a year (e.g. my sixaxis won't connect to my ps3 FUD)
people obviously have nothing better to do with their time!
Popfrogs @ Oct 8th 2007 12:03AM
Back to the releases...I'm definitely getting Folklore. The demo is alot of fun.
However..wtf is up with the lack of dialog? I bet the whole game fits on a regular CD-ROM. In this day and age, I want VOICES for EVERY SCENE. There's no excuse not to do this. This is one thing I have always loved about the Metal Gear games. They don't treat the game like a damn comic book.
finelicker @ Oct 8th 2007 2:23AM
Lol, sorry if I vexxed a few people with my comment, I get PS3 bashing in real life off my freinds. I don't bother retaliating because I feel its a waste trying to convince them. I just thought my stresses would be heard and related to on here.
Once again, sorry.
Byron517 @ Nov 2nd 2007 1:55AM
Folklore is an awesome game gents! There's a few kinks but overall it's a very old app I am enjoying it fully!
Andy @ Oct 8th 2007 1:14PM
I liked Lair too. I really think that if Factor 5 released the training missions as a demo they could garner some more sales. Flying through the obstacle course is a blast!
Shattercross @ Oct 9th 2007 5:23AM
@19.
When did this get personal? I was just defending the kid from what I saw as an undeserved attack, I wasn't preparing a case for the supreme court justice- so you can cut it out with that "time spent on web pages has no direct correlation with one's gaming system usage" bullshit. If everyone here pretended like the 360 didn't exist we'd still get flame wars, and you damn well know it jackass. Calling out random people isn't gonna fix anything- oh, and you can cut it out with the rants, you're on the internet- no one care's what you think.
wolfram @ Oct 9th 2007 1:49AM
This game looks fantastic. I can't wait to pick it up. Although maybe I should leave it for Christmas. I did just buy two MegaTen games. Decisions, decisions...
Speaking of MegaTen, does this remind anyone of that franchise? Albeit a much more action-oriented version.
Bino_NL @ Oct 11th 2007 5:40PM
If the 360 is so great why not duscuss that or just go play it, they think ps3 sucks right, well stay on ur own ground then!
