Capcom hints at PS3 news by the end of next week

You may have heard about a little game called Monster Hunter 3. It's the next game in a pretty popular series (especially in Japan) that was expected to be released on the PS3. Well you might also have heard that Monster Hunter 3 isn't coming to the PS3 after all. Cue a thread on the official Capcom forums full of angry PS3 owners moaning that Capcom is ignoring the PS3 and its fans.

Enter Christian Svensson, Senior Director of Strategic Planning and Development, who posted a cryptic message which has us feeling a mixture of excitement, curiosity and confusion. "Let's see how they feel at the end of next week about us." "They," in this case, refers to PS3 fans. So, until the end of next week we're going to wait optimistically for any and all announcements that Capcom have to make. What could it be? Ready, set - speculate!

Will probably be Monster Hunter Omega 3 X Hyper Fighting - Code Veronica HD Special Edition ONLINE!

Or DMC4 being a PS3 exclusive... that'd probably make PS3 owners happy.

My bets are on a Lost Planet port or a direct to home system however unlikely Street Fighter sequel.

I wonder if there was anyone besides niche MH fans really disappointed by the MH3Wii news.

Here's to Megaman Legends 3 being a PS3 exclusive! Or NEW ONIMUSHA PLEASE!! LET'S HAVE BADASS GAMEPLAY ON PAR WITH PART 3'S INTRO PLSS!!

Hopefully a new game developed ONLY and FOR the PS3, using the FULL power of The PS3...
Maybe they did realize that their developers were getting a bit lazy and don't want to learn new programming languages and architectures.

Zero Legends? That would be weird. And a completely different kind of game, I'd think. A completely different world, at least.

MegaMan Legends 3 would be sweet.

I ALREADY KNOW WHAT IT IS. It's obvious they are coming releasing SUPER STREET FIGHTER 2 HD REMIX. I BET ANYTHING ON IT.

i'm still going to feel extremely neglected. we haven't gotten much out of Capcom except a HD rehash of a old (but great) game and by the time RE5 is close to release, it'll be on the release lineup of EVERY gaming platform like its predecessor.

if this announcement is steaming from a monster hunter 3 complaint then you can pretty much guarantee that it is going to bring monster hunter to ps3. the only problem i had about that is that mh3 could boost ps3 sales in japan. whatever the big announcement might be i hope it's a good game. no first person shooters for me. maybe resident evil 5 getting an early release date. someone has got to help our cause. help the ps3 buy blue ray movies. lets help finish hd dvd's.

they are going to say they aren't making anymore games for the ps3 only the wii. I'd love a port or a remix of dead rising. Lost planet wasn't that great so they can keep that.

It's a trick!

"Devil May Cry 4 will be launching exclusively on the Xbox 360. Due to high development costs the PS3 version of Resident Evil 5 will also be canceled. Furthermore, Capcom would like to announced Resident Evil 5 for Wii, DS, and Mobile Phones."

Mmmm yeah, I exaggerate. It's most likely closer to what #12 said. A super mega version of something that's already out. Sven has a reputation for hyping up stuff that 80% of us could care less about. At least referring to "us" as people in the U.S.

I doubt it's an exclusive for PS3.
None of the good games will be exclusive to Sony. It would be like throwing money away.

@DSF SFIV would be the best. Nice HD sprites, done by the people who brought us III:Third Strike, not some comic book company. Or winning back the Marvel franchise for some sweet, sweet, MVCIII action.

What Capcom meant was: just wait until next week, because by that time you would have forgoten the monster hunter has gone to the Wii. Because you will be looking foward to the real games coming this fall.
