Dylan Jobe discusses Warhawk 1.1 patch
If you've been keeping an eye on the PlayStation.Blog you will have noticed that Dylan Jobe has recently posted up a nice piece of news regarding Warhawk. Several pieces, actually. To begin with, Warhawk version 1.1 is on its way and will arrive sometime before the end of October (that's this month, by the way). The update doesn't add anything to the gameplay but, instead, is mostly focused on stability and glitch fixing and will work alongside recent stability fixes on the server side. This is great for those of us who still suffer from weird stats errors (we get rank increases almost every time we login) or who still can't make it onto ranked servers. The full patch list can be found after the jump.
The second big announcement involved new Warhawk police - called Arbiters - who will be overlooking the leaderboards and who will be joining games in order to maintain the Warhawk peace. With guns. They have a wide array of punishments at their disposal including kicking, banning and sending harshly worded emails to you and your parents. So if any of you are sneaky cheaters then you'd best watch out - the Arbiters are after you.
Finally, Jobe mentions an announcement regarding update v1.2 coming soon. This will probably be the December expansion we've been hearing so much little about. We'll keep you posted.

lol. i like the first part of the update with the rankign fixes and stuff but the arbiters part sounds like a joke. are they really gonna send e-mails and run around the servers chasing down cheaters and stuff. what would they even do?? i think its gonna be funny when they actually start doing this.

yeah im not sure I like the idea of the game being policed, I have never really had a problem with cheating, plus if you dont like how someone is playing leave the server. Hopefully this whole policing thing only applies to official servers, dont police personal servers. I wonder what will be policed specifically, like would you be kicked for team killing? One game I was in turned into a big team killing match, no one really got points but we all enjoyed ourselves, so it would be dumb if we got kicked for that because someone whined about it. I dont know I'm just never a fan of being policed, power to the people...err players.

Come on, so none of you ever get annoyed when your own team member just suddenly knifes you in the back or blows you away with the tank for no reason at all ?
phattie @ Oct 19th 2007 8:59PM
Please fix the invisible tank cheat.. its freakin annoying as hell.
metbest @ Oct 19th 2007 9:09PM
i totally agree with phattie that damn tank glitch is annoying as hell. As for policing the game, i dont really mind since im not one who goes out to team kill just for the fun of it. If i ever team kill, its because either you out right shot at me for a weapon or killed me for one and this has happend or if i was going after the enemy and i killed a team member by mistake. Accidents do happen, as long the warhawk "policemen" understand this then i have no problem with policing the game. There's too many jack ass cheaters out there anyways.

any one having problems finding servers with a level less then 4 the don't seem to be there any more.

I hope something can be done about those rankup no kill pussys . I like nothing better than getting into their games and messing them up (rocket launcher/air strike group kills and hiding the flag etc) tee hee !!
so far i've been banned from 6 of their servers!!!! lol

@1/2
Policing is a big deal for me. I was playing with an African American friend and throughout the game he got verbally abused and there was nothing I nor he could do about it. You only need to be worried if you cheat.
And I am pretty sure the game knows what your IP address is no matter what PSN screen name you use so they can block your IP.
(I am surprised they aren't already mods in the game already)

How about a patch that lets us re-map all the buttons the way we want?

When is Best Buy doing this promo?

Yeah, that's really annoying and it happens all the time.

Too little, too late. I gave this game too much of my money and too much of my time already. It definitely wasn't the Crimson Skies - Type game I was secretly hoping for. I know that's not what they were promising but the replay value wasn't there and the broken nature of the retail product really soured me on the whole experience. A single-player aspect would have definitely kept this game on my shelf longer.

"are they really gonna send e-mails and run around the servers chasing down cheaters and stuff"
They do that in MMOs. The emails will likely be warnings like: "you have been reported for cheating, if you continue to cheat you may be banned." Any online game that has some sort of achievement system should be policed, at least by the players in conjunction with some official reprimand system. Most likely it'll be transparent. You won't know they're there. Like spectators.
Players should be able to report someone, and then the Arbiters will come in an check on that player to get confirmation of cheating, harassment, etc. Then they could give them a warning, boot them, suspend the account, or perhaps ban them from SCEA servers.

omg! this is great news. ive been so pissed that i paid $60 for the game and have yet to be able to play it online at home. ive only been able to play my friends at his house. most of those fixes are things that apply to me though. the ???? ping and joining errors. cant wait for this, i absolutely love this game.
gordon_strange @ Oct 25th 2007 12:53PM
err can anyone explain what this invisble tank thing is? i havent come across any glitches since the update last month. Im a uk player so perhaps its a regional thing? happy that the ranking thing is finally sorted though, i was getting bumped up everytime i logged in-i just thought i was realy good.....anyway thats my gamer tag if anyone wants to add me..
Billybobbean @ Oct 26th 2007 12:05PM
The dumbest thing about this whole issue is the fact that they had a massive BETA test and still there are huge problems with the system. I also get really peeved off when I get loads of Warhawk Wings medals and they dont register on my account vecause of server glitches
