First Dark Void trailer shows jetpacks, zeppelins, and fun!

Air Tight Games and Capcom bring you this first trailer for the newly-registered title Dark Void. Seriously, if Capcom announces anything else, they've better got a good hiring strategy in order because their staff must be spread out pretty thin across all these projects. Anyway, this trailer is pretty cool after the first minute. There are flying spaceship things that almost seem right out of the old Flash Gordon movie, jetpacks and zeppelins, shooting, and an overall feeling of warmth and excitement. Check it out, leave your thoughts. It seems like a fairly refreshing take on the third-person shooter.

Well... seems like it has a long way to go. I couldn't tell if they were going for a campy feel or not. Which is sort of a bad sign either way.

Certainly I'd like to see a game with well-implemented jetpacks and zeppelins in action... but what was going on with the purple clouds and acid trip backgrounds? I guess that's supposed to be the "Dark Void." Perhaps the void can get a makeover before the final release to make the setting more exciting.

I'll keep an eye on it. Not sold yet, though.

If all these announcements are the

"Let's see how they feel at the end of next week about us."

I can't See anything, a bunch of half arse games and someones sloppy seconds (Lost Planet), they can keep it.

so....what is this gonna be another 360 exclusive then we get sloppy 2nds or is it gonna be all multiplatform and then 2 months before it they go HAH PS3?! and make it 360 only lol capcom..capcom...keep trying.

Well to be honest gameforall they did announce Street Fighter 4 and to a SF fan thats HUGE new. I'm also quite pleased that they decided to release Lost Planet on the PS3 and with any hope they might just throw in some surprises rather than leave us with just sloppy seconds.

things we need less of:
- WWII FPSs
- games that take place in the future where you fight off generic alien/mutant invasion
- games that take themselves too serious.

being one of the few people that liked SkyCaptain and got what it was trying to do, consider me optimistically interested in this if they keep the tone fun and light like the old serial films.
