Naughty Dog wants to raise animation bar with Uncharted
It's so refreshing when development companies actually aim to raise the standards of videogame development rather than sit back and rehash sequel after sequel. While it's plain to see if you've ever watched an Uncharted: Drake's Fortune gameplay video, Naughty Dog's gameplay animation lead Jeremy Yates explains how they're pushing animation technology further than we've ever seen before.
Impressively, Naughty Dog has crammed 10 times more animations in Uncharted than it has in any game its ever made, and it clearly shows as Nathan moves seamlessly from one set of animations to another.According to Yates, Naughty Dog has three goals for Uncharted's animation: realistic movement, fluidity and responsiveness. From everything we've seen so far, they're right on track.

this may go down ass that MUST GET GAME for the PS3. I havent been this pumped for a game in awhile. I just hope the puzzles are good like god of war and tomb raider. That was the only thing Heavenly sword was missing was the puzzles.

I'm broke, but I WILL find a way to buy this game day one.
Sony needs to advertise the living daylights out of this title.

I am really excited about this game. I'm also excited to NEVER post on Joystiq ever again. I feel dumber now that I've done so and seen replies. (not related to Uncharted)

i DL'd the new video off PSN last night.. and the animation really is impressive... im really looking forward to this game... i just hope the screen-tearing is fixed for the final product... thats the ONLY thing that worries me.

It's starting to look like they wont get that vertical sync fixed for the final release. And thats really a shame because (and im stepping out of fanboy mode here) it really is the only visual blemish this game has. Still so much screen tearing literally hurts my eyes.

@Easo
on the official playstation blog, the producer (Evan Wells) mentioned that the footage used in the videos is from a much older rev (which makes sense considering the time necessary to actually put these vids together) and said that it's looking way better than what we see in the trailers/BTS vids.
can't wait for this one. i just hope i can finish R&CF:ToD before this one sucks away my gaming hours.

What's funny is that we get to complain about screen tearing because it's new to us PS3 owners. PC gamers and X360 owners get to see tearing on every game they play.
Anyway I hope it's already ironed out. Vsync=off should never be an option.

They're certainly doing a fine job of it
I'd like to see this game succeed, just to prove that hard work doesn't go unappreciated (or: plz don't be Okami redux, or Zack and Wiki, beautiful game that is doomed to failure)
