you guys should make your next podcast a video one using the new PSeye!

I wish it worked with the original Eyetoy, I don't really want to buy a new one since mine works just fine. If all new games require the new one, I might just get it. (Eyetoy games)

@Andrew Yoon(or anyone who knows)
How do you unlock the other cars in Gran Turismo 5 Demo?
I have raced with the 3 available cars and won the race.
Also what does the second option on the pre-race screen (the screen with tires and traction etc) change?
spyder @ Oct 23rd 2007 8:35PM
I can confirm that even though the PS3 can detect and use the 360 Vision Camera under the accessories section of the system settings, the device cannot be used with EyeCreate. :(

I have a Sony Mini DV camera that can be hooked up via Mini USB to USB but the PS doesn't recognize it. sux i have to pay 40 bucks just for the Eye thing. Also I find it weird the Eye is only 40 bucks. Wasn't the regular Eyetoy the same price, or even more because it came with that game? I heard the Eye is supposed to be so much better, but I don't see how if its the same price. Figured it would have been like $80 or something more. Ones last thing lol, why is a wireless mic (360's wireless head set) more expensive than a Mic(tho not wireless) and a camera combined ($60 to $40)? Should be the other way around. Ugh, i hate life. guess i could just buy both and say i bought the mic for "$40".... lol.

@Jared (#5)
I bought a perfectly fine Jabra BT160 with customizable faceplates and the like for $20. It works like a charm, and I love my Dragon Quest VIII plate.
Also, does anyone know if this is backwards compatable? Can I use it with PS2 eyetoy games? And if I can, does it improve the lighting, resolution and framerate in those?
Xoonaka @ Oct 23rd 2007 10:35PM
I really wish this software could at least import images off your hard drive... disappointing. Hopefully I'll enjoy it more when I get the camera.
Jared @ Oct 23rd 2007 11:27PM
@kattleox
I mentioned the 360 wireless headset because I want a wireless headset for the 360. The jabra you mentioned wouldn't work for it. At least I thought the 360 wasn't bluetooth??
White-Sharingan @ Oct 24th 2007 12:11AM
@8(Jared) 360 isnt bluetooth, though you can buy an extra accessory which ataches to the controller and enable it as a bluetooth device
Nate @ Oct 24th 2007 12:21AM
Question - what do you people *do* with these cameras? Aside from eye of judgement, I don't see any practical use for them. Serious question, I'm curious. And yeah, Home video chat yadda yadda... that'll come when it comes. What about *now*?
Jared @ Oct 24th 2007 12:27AM
@white
Really? A thing to make 360 bluetooth? This would be nice. I don't have a mic besides the cheap wired ones for any of my systems. I would like to get just one mic thats bluetooth for my cell phone, ps3, and (now since i can) 360. So where can i find such a device?
apease @ Oct 24th 2007 12:49AM
Nate: Well, obviously Eye of Judgment, and the EyeCreate Software (as mentioned above). There's two things *now*. There's several very interesting-looking titles coming to the PS Store soon too, but ignoring those, that's still two things, not including using the built-in mic for voice chat in multiplayer games. Doesn't sound like much, but compare it to something like Guitar Hero, which was similarly priced. All you could do with that for about a year was, you guessed it, play Guitar Hero. After that, I could play two whole games with it! But that was okay, since Guitar Hero was a fun game.
That and there's already a bunch of games announced for the Eye that are due this fall. The original Eyetoy got pretty good support from Sony, this one is looking to get even more already.
Larz @ Oct 24th 2007 2:09PM
Now if only the Eye was anywhere to be found... stupid brick and mortars.
@Nate:
Aside from EoJ and Create, you can do video chat already, plus use the mic for online gaming, and there's all kinds of EyeToy PS2 games which I would assume it works with. Also, some games take advantage of it for avatar pics, vid chat, or whatever.
