Firmware 1.94 adds DualShock rumble support
Ratchet & Clank Future (available in retail stores soon) is the first retail PS3 game to support rumble out of the box. The game includes firmware update 1.94 on the disc and will allow players with DualShock 3 controllers to experience the incredible innovation of rumble.
The firmware is, as of writing, not yet available for download. DualShock 3 controllers will be available in Japan in November and in America next year.

I've checked around and everyone says tomorrow, 24 Oct, in stores. EOJ is in the same boat. I thought games/movies came out on Tuesdays (majority of the time) did something change?!?
Dahk @ Oct 23rd 2007 4:44PM
Its officially supposed to be released Oct. 30th if I'm not mistaken. You're just lucky if you can get it early apparently =P but lets hope these darn retailers are all the 'lucky' ones.
I'll check during the weekend =P Too busy with school.

why do i get the feeling that we won't see anymore psn firmware updates untill 2.0?
having 1.94 on the R&C disc seems like a 'just in case' 2.0 ain't out yet thing.

I've pre-ordered the ceramic DS3, but I probably won't be able to play Ratchet for awhile since I'm going to rent it and Gamefly never seems to have enough copies of popular PS3 games.
At least when I do actually get it, I'll have my shiny DS3 and the firmware update already.

@1 Nikko
because it comes out in Japan this year and America next year if memory serves. so they are essentially saying that America is more important than Japan. damn it feels good to be Amercian (to the tune of Ghetto Boys - Feels Good To Be A Gangster)
and to everyone talking about the release/sell date
most of the time the games ship on the stated release date but stores are instructed not to sell them until a date when everywhere should have it (usually a day after). i worked at K-Mart and i remember us getting some games a couple days before the release date. im sure places like Wal-Mart are the same way.

I think 2.0 is going to be so AWESOME. There hasn't been a major firmware update out for months, maybe will the 2.0 arrive in the next year, with this:
-In-game XMB
-PlayTV recording
-Home
-New music playing
-RSS
-Fix bugs
^^isn't that a great update?
linebeginstoblur @ Oct 24th 2007 9:35AM
I think it's funny when people talk about how much they're anticipating the updates and how they are so disappointed when a new update is announced that isn't godly. The PS3 is great as it is. Sure, new features will be great as they come, but I don't see why you people would complain about any upgrade.
