First trailer for Dead Space unleashed
What's this? Electronic Arts actually stamping their name on a game that looks relatively decent? It appears so, as this trailer for the new title Dead Space finally shows a bit of the game in action and we've gotta say, looks like tossing survival horror in space might have some promise after all. But will the soundtrack go the white noise, ambient suspense route of typical horror movies? Will they toss in an awkward but awesome sci-fi techno/rock for a futuristic spin? It really is the soundtrack that makes these games work, but silence is always an option. It's space, after all.

Well at least EA is making new IPs, which is better than drying up old sports games to the bone.

they stole this game concept from The Collective (who is now merging with Shiny and creating a totally new company Name).
so yeah, The Collective approached EA with a sci fi horror game called "Black Sun" where you were a sole surving Engineer. then years later this game. whata buncha dicks EA are.

I see sub-par framerates. And you can bet that's on the 360. It'll be worse on the ps3. EA made a cool movie. I'll wait to see if it's a cool game. Skate was sweet, but there were of course frame problems and it was way worse, online. I can accept that, while they learn. Hope they are moving towards getting it right on this one. It doesn't look like an Electronic Arts game, and that could be a good thing.

I think EA is doing a fantastic job so far for this generation of consoles. They're finally testing out new IPs and you can see that obvious layer of polish on all of their games. Let's hope they keep it up!

Maybe I'm just to easily impressed but how the heck to you see 'framerate issues' on a compressed streaming video?...is any stuttering not more likely my internet connection or a compression artifact than something inherent in the game?

I am slightly impressed. Its too early to tell for this game.
EA makes so many games eventually some will be good.
DarkS29 @ Oct 27th 2007 7:32PM
Seems like the love child of doom with alien and maybe slightly RE style enemies
EDW @ Oct 28th 2007 4:26PM
seems kinda cool. it's a bit early to tell yet though
