If you haven't been keeping up with Free Radical's
Haze, a few weeks ago we
talked about their weaponry and today we're going to
talk about the vehicles you'll run across. We'll start with the Mantel vehicles.
- Boxcart - lightweight buggy of sorts.
- BigBoy - a transport truck with a big ol' rail gun.
- Mrs. Mantel - a ship that drops soldiers off with really impressive speed.
And the Promised Hand vehicles:
- Macho (Stag) - a hodgepodge vehicle built for jungle missions
- Mula (Mule) - a very light buggy.
- Palo Hueco - a helicopter with crappy armor, apparently.
- Diente de la Serpiente - think about it. A really slow vehicle with a nuclear missile attached. Sounds like a winner!
All of these vehicles will make an appearance in the single player campaign as well as four player co-op and multiplayer. It seems there's more vehicle action than previously expected. Let's hope they keep the battlefield balanced!

It looks like Haze is starting its pre-launch marketing campaign and the vehicles certainly look like an exciting addition to the gameplay. The trouble is this game is up against heavy-hitter COD4 and possibly Unreal Tournament... Will Haze get lost in the FPS fog of war?

Cod4 wont touch Haze in my opinion...the story for COD4 can be completed in about 5hrs. There the month or so you have between COD4 and Haze should be enough time for a lot of people to buy Haze

I'm Getting Call of Duty 4.
But I am also getting Haze for Several Reasons.
1) 4 Player Split Screen Co-op
This is My #1 Reason. Some of us have Real Friends.
Not Just Online Friends. (I'm talking to you Bungie)
2) Unreal will not be out until 2008. Plus Co-Op??
3) The Vehicles in Haze Look to make for some really
exiting Single Player as Well as Multi-Player.
The Info Trickling out on Haze had me bump Half-Life and Unreal Down my Most wanted List.

Ehh... im not going to jump into this CoD4 vs. Haze thing. I think they both outflank eachother in different areas. I'm buying both along with a heavy math book for my lap. ;)
Vehicles sound cool though. Hopefully the Promise Hand stuff isn't too much more awesomerish over the Mantel stuff, because if I play through the game again I don't want to be all pissed off trying to hurry up and get to the PH portion of the game so I can get the goods.
I think each comment regarding this game should AT LEAST mention "co-op FTW" once.
Co-op FTW.

screenshots and reviews can only do so much.
The demos will reveal all...

If it has some good reviews, a definite buy.

i can't wait for a demo for this game. im really not a FPS fan so a demo is necessary for me. Resistance was the first FPS i ever bought (played before but never owned) so a FPS has to be REALLY good for me to buy it. this is looking really promising though so it may at least warrant a first week rental to solidify the buy.
oh and Co-Op FTW!

I just hope these are nicknames for the vechicles, as they have a really weird way of naming things.

@3
what exactly do you mean by this:
"This is My #1 Reason. Some of us have Real Friends.
Not Just Online Friends. (I'm talking to you Bungie)"
the only reason I'm on halo 3 is because of my real life friends. for some reason I don't hear any 12 year olds, only people that I friend (weird that i'm the only one so far).
back to the topic, I don't really see Haze going anywhere but FPS obscurity. while it may be a great game, I can't see it as a major franchise or a system seller like Halo.
I don't have a PS3 yet, but did Warhawk or Resistance do a Halloween update for today like Halo 3 did?
