Midway is a company that has learned its lesson. After dealing with the delay mess that was
Stranglehold, not to mention the awkwardly delayed
Unreal Tournament 3, CEO David Zucker came out to say that stuff is behind the company and all should go smoothly from now on. He said, "For our first wave of next-gen games... lead development has been on the Xbox 360, due to its earlier introduction and larger installed base. We ran into some technical issues developing for the PlayStation 3 that have taken more time to finalize than we expected ... We do believe that these technical issues are now complete at a core level in our engine." Meaning games will ship the same day as the 360 versions. Hopefully.
The relationship between Sony and Epic Games remains unchanged and Midway is offering its support in keeping those exclusives rolling at a constant rate. "Our expected product plan is to release a PC version of
Unreal Tournament 3 this November, and a PS3 version as soon as it's ready. At this point, we have not announced any timing for an Xbox 360 version of
Unreal Tournament 3." Another piece of info was gleaned regarding an "open-world" project for the PS3 that has yet to be announced. What that is, nobody knows. Because it hasn't been announced.

I'll hold you to those words then Mr. Zucker.

Not unlike the early days of PS1/2 when devs were having a difficult time doing what they do. I don't think that anyone will be complaining about how tough the PS3 is to develop for much longer...

Dru,
funny thing is, most, IF NOT ALL, of Sony and their different developing studios are sharing their codes, it has been mentioned a LOT lately, most recently by Insomniac and Naughty Dog, and some time ago by Jaffe.
Its really great to see all these cooperation between studios

Considering that Stranglehold is a total mess both the game and the movie on the collectors edition I will believe it when I see it.
Instead of posting all the issues I've had with the game in the last day I'll point you to my thread on the Midway forums.

I'm awaiting a reply from Midway support to see if these issues will be resolved.
Truly disappointing.

Every time I see him, I think of Bob Saget.
