Take-Two acknowledges Manhunt 2 hack

After word spread throughout the internet of gamers hacking the M-rated version of Manhunt 2 to unlock its censored content, Take-Two has now confirmed the diabolical deed.
"Multiple edits were made to revise Manhunt 2 for its M-rated version. Hackers apparently have altered one of those edits to produce an illegally modified version of the game that can only be played on an unauthorized, modified PlayStation Portable handheld system," a Take-Two rep wrote to GamePolitics.com. "All of the game material, and especially these specific edits, was submitted to and reviewed by the ESRB in accordance with requirements regarding disclosure that were enacted two years ago and any contrary suggestion is inaccurate and irresponsible."
Because the ESRB approved Rockstar's edits of the game, it will probably be safe from any actual lawsuits, but that probably won't stop some uneducated media members from blowing it out of proportion. We just can't wait to hear from dear ol' Jack.

We could all laugh when media said that we would all be turning into violent killers by playing games like street fighter and doom.
And even though people will say that parents need to be responsible for kids playing these kinds of games, we all know they aren't.
But the biggest and most obvious problem isn't the kids, it's the 17-20 something guys who are going to see this and just know this is their way to express themselves. By following what is a realistic, fully fleshed out murderer's handbook. More detailed than any movie.
Isn't there a point where we can all be disgusted with where things have gotten. Anyone pointing this out to a friend and saying "isn't this so cool!?" needs counseling and fast.
And that's not a joke.

what? i think the game is cool and i showed it to my girlfriend. told her i thought it was cool. doesn't mean im gonna kill someone. unless i misunderstood what you wrote then my bad.
anyways i don't think games like this are a mental masturbation.
anyways my point is none. people are not responsible. also their will always be a murderer out there. which sucks. life isn't safe. my vocabulary sucks. also jack Thompson is weird..

Last night I downloaded a fully modded copy of MH2 and intend to play through it as opposed to the UMD edited version. I am new to the Man Hunt series and have been awaiting the release of this game for some time, but feel utterly cheated by the fact that the developers were forced to censor the game in the way that they have.
As a small child I was given the choice by my parents in regards to the content etc I viewed etc (no NOT due to bad parenting), but because my parents respected my mentality and ability to make good choices in life. I in turn respect them for this and can quite honestly say I've seen some pretty sick stuff, yet have never commited a violent crime or even been in a fight (please dont get the idea that I'm sheet-white sitting in a basement writing this listening to a compilation of nintendo theme songs on an ipod..).
I get that piracy is bad, but if these companies are dedicated to the attemp of ruining our experiences, then we are faced with no alternative than to bend the rules to get the most out of life.
I do not condone the breaking of copyright and piracy laws, *note - if i like the game perhaps i'll but it.
STOP CONTENT FILTERING.

Newsflash: you have no right to be entertained. No alternative?? Please, we're not talking food and water here.
I don't have a TV so I have no alternative but to bend the rules and come into your house to take yours to get the most of out life.

with life being what we make of it, and built on the experiences we seek live through. Why should we be forced to settle with what others tell us?
When I was younger I had no choice but to pirate various pieces of software to pursue my profession of system maintenance and support due to being unable to afford to actually buy the software in order to test and play with it so I could in turn provide support to others that actually owned it for themselves..
So now I take the view that if we are going to be restricted on things that we should have rights to... Then that is our progative.

we don't care about what you download etc.
don't put it on a site.
your not special.
don't download video games. especially psp ones. and p-diddy was just giving an example. you are not bending a rule. your simply stealing nothing more. i can understand if you bought the game then tired to hack it thats at your own risk of ruining your psp, but you did not steal.
