Japanese magazine Gemaga released
a few more screenshots of White Knight Story and while we'd like to offer more than that, it's all we've got for now. The screens cover the basics: one page describing a lot of characters and key features of the title (transforming into a giant knight, character creation function, etc), and a few other pages consisting of character close-ups and one picture of the battle system in action. The last of these is intriguing because a new enemy is revealed and if that's a normal fight, well, seems there are going to be a lot more types of creatures than the faceless soldiers seen in demos thus far. But it's probably a boss, prior to knight transformation. If only!

I was really intrigued by this game at first. Then I found out about the transformation into the white knight. Boring. Reminds of a million and a half Power Rangers episodes. Of which I hated every. single. one.
Why couldn't they do something where as a team the party would find ways to take down the larger monster? I think that's a more satisfying and intriguing method of play. (There ya go Level 5, that one's free. Vague, but free.)
One button button gameplay? It was best put when it was referred to as "pressing the win button." I hope it ends up being more fun than it's sounded thus far.

is that a chicken over there?

EHRM. Well, Berndo111. I don't think you read the part where you said "Level 5".
This is L5 we are talking about. And they have Rocked the One Button Method time and time again. How? Because button mashing will "work" in their games (I'm thinking of Dark Cloud 2 as I write this) but timed presses grow to be nesessary and yeild more stunning results. You can button mash through God of War (Last I recall "square square square" was a combo) but is it any less a good game?
Now their combo system means that you have to tap in time: more like Gitaroo Man, less like Dynasty Warriors.
As for the turning into a giant thing...I'm hoping for Voltron and not Power Rangers, if you catch my meaning. The folks at Level5 can do it right, I know that much. I just want to see how and the curiosity of that is enough to warrant my purchase.

Way too fuzzy, but game itself is interesting to me. All games have the little guys figuring out how to beat a big enemy. Whats so wrong with actually pulling out a magic artifact and beating the snot out of the big enemies with a giant golem? I wouldn't want to fight that beast on the ground.

I know I sounded a bit salty with that post. I think I expect too much out of my games.
After reading where you mentioned Voltron I started wondering what a five person co-op Voltron game would be. Then I realized once all the cats joined together you would get four really bored people. That and Voltron was boring too. Sorry man, someone had to say it.
I will say this though about White Knight Story however, it looks great and I'm sure the story is going to suck people in like crazy. I'm hoping that the big white armored fella has a lot of timed combos as well. In all of the videos I've seen it's only had slow chops but it's possible the people playing were below average gamers.
I hope to see more and maybe my opinion of it will perk up a bit.
