Son attempts to hire hitman to off PlayStation-stealing parents
Due to some threats he made to his parents, they decided to organize a sting operation where a police officer would play the role of a hitman. Naturally, Cory found his way to that very hitman and offered his dad's truck as payment, allegedly saying "two bullets is all it takes". He was subsequently arrested. Now, we love PlayStation too, but if we're failing school and our parents take it away, you'd think to try harder at studying first, kill parents as a completely off-the-wall nonsensical suggestion second. What would you guys do if your PlayStation was somehow confiscated? What lengths would you go to get it back? Hiring ninjas, for example? Or pirates?

He coulda sold that truck to buy some new games to play for when he got the ps3 back, not to off his parents...

Slow news day?
Kattleox @ Nov 5th 2007 4:17PM
Wait till Jack gets a hold of this. God of War made him do it.
At any rate, I have a pretty good system going on; Wake up a 4:00 AM, study as needed, and then hit the PS3 until I leave for school. It's excellent incentive.

Seriously we NEED a banhammer badly!
Anywho, how did the kid expect to play when he got shipped off to a foster home?
Akamaru @ Nov 5th 2007 4:22PM
Sorry, Ithilis is the one deserving of some troll-be-gone.
Kattleox, that sounds like a great way to start the day.

Good for the parents!
I'm glad to see more stories like this. That's right. Glad. It means that parents are doing what is necessary to control their out of control children.

I think it has more to do with just videogames its obvious that this kid suffers from some serious issues.. What's really hard to read is how dead bent the mother is in putting him in the "adult system" rather then trying to get her son some help

If you read the article you'll see that he wanted to kill his parents after being thrown out of the house, and not because his Playstation was confiscated:
"He has since told officials that he was upset about being thrown out of the house and that he felt pressured to talk to the man in the hotel."
NATO_Duke @ Nov 5th 2007 5:11PM
Wow kid - enjoy hell when you get there.
GRANTED @ Nov 5th 2007 5:30PM
umm this is called ENTRAPMENT and is not legal--this case would be thrown out of court in the US. At least, the way it's being described here.
f--- the police that's how I treat em.
Zombie Huggles @ Nov 5th 2007 5:43PM
I was a little surprised when I read the article. 1. The kid really didn't seem that violent. Though he did talk to a "hitman" there seemed to be no prior evidence of violence. And 2. anyone that kicks their kid on the street seems to be a parent unwilling to work with their child. I know it's hard, but truth is, most parents don't know how to communicate with their children. Punishment works for some, but for others...well you get this. You need to seek help, even if it means Dr. Phil.

I'd hire both Ninjas and Pirates and have them play dodgeball in front of my house.

Yea, like that makes sence. Since Drug busts, arms dealing, etc...are done almost the same way. Entrapment....LOL Dude, if you're doing something illegal, rights don't mean $hit! Also its not entrapment unless the kid was pushed towards the fake "hitman". Which the story doesn't even say that, or is even that indepth with the story.
"f--- the police that's how I treat em."
^Yes, that always works for a peaceful and prosperous society... >;>

We buy our way outta jail but we can't buy freedom...
The parents deserve it. Very rarely do the consequences of raising a total douche come back directly to the kid's parents. I don't agree with his decision in the least, but I'm glad it was the parents and not some innocents at school or anywhere else...
derickoleary @ Nov 5th 2007 7:05PM
Wow, either the media is really trying to push the "games are bad" premise or this new younger generation of gamers are real freaks.
First the Halo kid bustin his mother up and now some little weirdo puts a contract out on his parents... so he can play... *shrug* locorocho?

I hardly think this was a wise choice for the parents. The way a parent controls an out of control child is not by calling the cops. If they have gotten to that point then they are terrible parents. They need to talk to their kid or call a shrink. Something.
grillman @ Nov 9th 2007 11:54PM
I have three boys and I am 39 and I found that some of the best time to talk to my boys is when we are playing ps2 we each have one on line. I think that they see that dad is part of there world and that we spend time together talking about what is going on in there life but don't get me wrong if they do some thing wrong I do what I think will make them think about what they did but I look back at when I was there age and what I did. I am not a Dr Phil but I think that if more mom and dad would take time to sit with there kids and just watch them playing there ps2 games and just talking to them and turn off the cell and home phone ( I do) and showe them that they love them and care about them. Kids like this one would not be where he is to day. grillman out.
deadxbabiesxinc @ Nov 10th 2007 3:38AM
I'd just tell them I'm gonna leave the 360 running all night if they don't give it back...because yanno...it'll blow up from overheating and all that XD
