Guitar Hero III sells tremendously - DLC on its way
Did you go out and pick up Guitar Hero III after it was launched a week ago? Ok, fine - forget going out. Did you order it in from one of the many online retailers? We're willing to bet you did because Activision have today sent out a press release bragging to notifying everyone that the game has sold more than $115 million worth in its first week. This gives Guitar Hero III the honour of being the largest single product launch in the company's history.
The press release goes on to state that Activision have made plans for downloadable content for the PS3 version for November. Three content packs will be made available within the next four weeks. Each song pack will contain three new songs though there's no indication as to the price or what exact songs they will be. Still, a little bit of mystery is always fun, right?

No DC for Wii. That would be sad if anyone bought it for Wii.
lakaiHIGH @ Nov 6th 2007 7:32PM
@ Andy - totally agree with you dude... that does suck. If there's anybody here who bought GH3 for PS3 could you give me a preview/review? I'm really on the fence about his game because of the controller issue with the wireless dongle thing. that really ticks me off that they didn't make it bluetooth. I really hope they produce a gibson that is bluetooth. thanks, Lh
Carlo @ Nov 6th 2007 7:40PM
lol the 3 DLC Packs are already leaked
3 Foo Fighters Songs
3 Velvet Revolver Songs
3 Songs that are already in the game (Tom Morello and Slash Boss Battles, and The Devil Went Down to Georgia)
Dustin @ Nov 6th 2007 8:09PM
Ok. There are GH3 guitar face plates at Best Buy. They are all themes of bands. But there are some faceplates of bands thats arn't in the game? Or maybe they will be soon... IE: Fall out Boy, Panic! at the Disco (please no, dont add it) Montley Crew, Korn. I hope for Fall out Boy. (dont bash, their pretty good) But I want SHE BUILD QUICK MACHINES!!!!!!! Ahh I wanted that in the game from the start. Thats going to own.

@2 i got guitar hero 3 the day it launched and i love it even though it feels a little different it's still the same guitar hero (a little harder). the graphics are good and the song choice is pretty good too. the guitar feels good in your hands and the dongle isn't that big and you just plug it in and press the ps button on your guitar and your ready to go. also the guitar neck has button icons underneath the fret buttons so you can navigate through the xmb before booting up the game. 9.5 out of 10
ArmorForVictor @ Nov 6th 2007 9:36PM
also has anyone noticed the guitar hero 3 commercial with slash in it? a velvet revolver is playing in it leading me to think they will have a song or songs in the new dlc just like #3 is stating
JaseH @ Nov 6th 2007 9:44PM
Fall Out Boy?
Jesus.
That isn't music. The most Bizzare thing to them is a guitar solo.
Why don't you guys ever pick up a real guitar?
hypersauce @ Nov 6th 2007 10:17PM
I think the game is top notch except for the controller issue. Not the dongle, just the fact it won't work with the ps2 versions on my ps3. Kind of a bummer, and I'm sure it's because of the bluetooth nonsense.
ArmorForVictor @ Nov 6th 2007 10:52PM
yes i too was pretty mad that the new guitar wouldn't work with the ps2 games (own 1,2,80's). would of been cool to play those games on my ps3 with the new controller
ArmorForVictor @ Nov 6th 2007 10:55PM
@2 i also love fall out boy too but you have to agree their songs arent really suited for guitar hero since theres really no good solos or anything like that just a bunch of chords. still might be nice to play some of their songs on guitar hero. (plan on getting that fall out boy face plate for christmas) :)
drizzlelicious @ Nov 6th 2007 11:08PM
@7 because they're gamers, not musicians
Popfrogs @ Nov 6th 2007 11:25PM
@7: Don't be a douche. That's like asking an FPS player why they don't go out with high powered submachine guns and shoot people.
lakaiHIGH @ Nov 6th 2007 11:59PM
wait you guys are telling me that I won't be able to play guitar hero 2 or 80's on my PS3???? WTF!?!?!
JaseH @ Nov 7th 2007 12:27AM
@11
@12
I never said "Why dont you stop playing Guitar Hero all together & just pick up a guitar to play ALL of the songs"
What I was trying to say was...
If you want to play [FALL OUT BOY]... then pick up a real guitar and play it. SINCE IT'S SO EASY, SIMPLE & UNORGINAL.
Never mind the other songs. Those are great for this game.
FOB?
Please, get the hell outta here.

@13 That's what I'm saying. Supposedly there's a rumor that the single guitars sold in feb will be bluetooth, but even if that's true the current dongled GH3 guitars still won't work for 2 player. Really, really sucks.
Popfrogs @ Nov 7th 2007 3:40AM
@7: I see people make this comment any time Guitar Hero is mentioned, and every time it fails. It's a dumb comment. "Why don't you pick up a real guitar" is like asking FPS fans why they don't go shoot guns at people, or like asking Gran Turismo players why they don't go to Laguna Seca in an R34 Skyline and compete.
Just don't go there, it makes you look like a moron. No offense, just saying.
loic54 @ Nov 7th 2007 3:41AM
I have to agree with 7, those crappy premade bands that are popular now are shite. I play the guitar, and guitar hero is not for me, it just feels awkward when i play. I would only consider buying the game if they put some Zeppelin in the game which I doubt will happen anytime soon. BTW slash and morello own!
JaseH @ Nov 7th 2007 9:15AM
@Popfrogs
Did you even read my other comment?
Or are you just ignorant?
Read everything before you go on with an assumption, it only makes you look like a moron, no offense... Just saying.
Scott @ Nov 7th 2007 9:32AM
@15 "but even if that's true the current dongled GH3 guitars still won't work for 2 player."
You can't play this two player???
hypersauce @ Nov 7th 2007 10:37AM
@19 No it works two playered, but only with the GH3 guitars. And since you can't buy them separately yet you'll either have to have a friend bring his over or buy an extra copy of the game!!! WIN/WIN
gamingeek @ Nov 7th 2007 10:45AM
I picked it up release day and have been having a blast with it since. It does truly suck that the Les Paul controller isn't backwards compatible w/ GH I & II though. Also I have not been able to connect for online multiplayer at all. It boots me out every time and yet I never have had this problem with any other online PSN games. Anyone else having this problem?
Elliott @ Nov 7th 2007 12:40PM
To play 2-player you don't need an extra guitar at your house, you can do it online. Your friend or complete stranger don't need to come over, they can team up or challenge you from their own home.

I heard that Guitar Hero III seems Very fantastic. There are good choice of songs, including finally getting Metallica in the game. So I searched some information about it. I got some here: http://www.cheatcc.com/xbox360/rev/guitarheroiii3review.html
It is so amazing that I want to buy it. I found a deal of it, you may want to check it out:
