American PSN Store updates for November 8th

It's that day you've all been waiting for: Thursday. But this Thursday is special - today the Uncharted: Drake's Fortune demo is available to download. Not only that, but we have received the same Guitar Hero III DLC that XBox 360 owners got on the same day. We're going to go on record and say that, honestly, we did not expect to see that happening. Here's the full release list:

The Uncharted demo weighs in at an impressive 1200 megabytes, so get the download started soon. The fact that the Guitar Hero III downloadable content is available today bodes incredibly well for future third party downloadables. These two packs each contain three songs each; "Messages", "She Builds Quick Machines" and "Slither" for the Velvet Revolver pack and "The Pretender", "This is a Call" and "All My Life" for the Foo Fighters pack. Another pack will be available later in the month containing the three boss battles from the game which will be playable in Quickplay mode - this pack will be downloadable for free.

Realize this looks like a novel, but hear me out for sec:

Normally I hit the PS website on my laptop, but for some reason I decided to check it out through the PS3. For those of us in the GAP there is a button just below our log-in. Normally that is the only button there, but I just ran across a button right next to it that says beta (mind you this button does not appear on my laptop version of the same webpage & yes I'm logged in just the same). The beta button takes you to a page that lists the betas you are apart of (in my case, home). Now for some of you this might not seem like news (I have no idea how long the beta button has been there since I've never looked before), but what did catch my eye, and I thought to pass along, was that the beta says it runs from Jun 07 thru 15 Jan 08.

Anyone care to guess what that means? Is it the date that the beta goes "open" and everyone gets a shot at it? Or, should we be expecting something bigger, something like a Home/2.? update (I almost put 2.0 forgetting about that thing that came out yesterday that was supposed to be an update)? The 15th falls on a Tuesday so that doesn't coincide with the typical Thursday PSN release, but that doesn't really matter in the end. What do you guys think? And, anyone know how long the beta button has been there and how far your's truly is behind the curve!?! Thanks.

(didn't mean to post this in two different threads, but PS3 Fanboy is really dicking me around...I've only hit the post button like 4 freaking times and it never shows up...argh!)

first of all, switch to Decaf.

That beta tag should appear since you started the Home beta. I'm assuming you downloaded it from the ps store and installed already. About not getting it on you laptop it ciuld be many reasons, setting in your browser and such, it should work with any computer or browser. I'm using explorer. Try allowing cookies and safety stuff for the ps site4.

As of the Beta ending, it doesn't mean we get Home the next day. I think tthe release date for home is in February or even later, but don't quote me on that.

Check IGN.com they usually update their realese dates pretty often.

I've been running the home beta since June so it's not as though I just downloaded it recently. This isn't a matter of safety "stuff" for the PS site. Just some quirkyness that has the link on the website through one machine and not the other. I also understand that we're not getting Home the next day, my intent was to see what you guys thought, maybe provoke a little conversation and find out if anyone else had seen it (the link) before. I'm not really anticipating Home, hell I already have it, just curious as to what my forum friends thought it all "could" mean. Thanks for the feedback Red...

I'm gonna be SO *@1#ed if Uncharted is region locked, i've been downloading it for 2 hours and it's only at like 38% - I'm from the UK, and use the US store because Sony is constantly shafting Europeans, giving them crap updates - I can't even get onto the EU store today, it's ridiculous.

I think it's just a bug which means it wont work on PAL consoles, and not a deliberate ploy by Sony to block non-NTSC PS3 owners...

There's no "Sorry you can't play this glorious game on your overly expensive PAL console" error so I think it's just a bug

Uncharted is amazing, it's a must be buy for me. Graphics were awesome, gameplay was perfect. I really like this game a lot.

Even though I had this game on reserve, I still had my doubts. I have now played the demo and all I can say is that this game is simply SUPERB!!. You will be BLOWN AWAY!!!!

The game has tight, intuitive controls that almost feel natural, excellent animations, acting and music. As for the graphics.......STELLAR!!! Extremely addictive...superb job on ND's part..Finally a true system mover.

surprisingly fun. very refreshing, at times reminded me of Gears of War with the taking cover on walls and having different views, but then mixed up with heavenly sword jumping and grabbing onto things, on top of all that the graphics are spectacular, love the shadings alot.
