Footage of Time Crisis 4's FPS mode
The new FPS mode of Time Crisis 4 has so much potential. Too bad it isn't actually taking advantage of any of it. Combining a terrific FPS with the free aim of the Guncon would be nothing short of incredible. Instead, it seems we're receiving a rather primitive attempt at a generic, basic FPS that's sloppy in too many ways. A shame, really. We're certain the Arcade on-rails segments will be a lot of fun, and hope that a more capable team will deliver something a bit more refined than this first attempt at a light gun FPS game.

I pre-ordered this game based on having enjoyed the arcade game, and shooters in general. This trailer has me kinda bummed.
I guess I should have done a little more research. I was really expecting it to be just like the arcade version, less the quarters. I see what they are trying to accomplish with the joystick on the gun and stuff, but I really just want the arcade version.

Looks like an arcade shooter from the 90's if thats what they are going for then they have succeeded. I would like more of a arcade shooter from 2007 though.

i think as long as its not all buggy or framey playing the fps with the gun could still be kinda fun. remind me to start a petition for infinity ward to patch this control scheme into cod4 *drool*

Yeah this game looks like a PS2 game, kind of a shame they didn't put more effort into it and update the graphics.

Yeah, this game clearly needs a LOT of work. The FPS mechanics look dreadful, and the graphics look like a decent PS2 game.

okay... it doesn't look fun watching this guy play.
HOWEVER........, i can imagine myself having fun using the guncon to shoot at targets while i run around.
just IMAGINE urself using the guncon aiming at the targets rather than using the analog stick, and using the analog stick only to get the targets on screen.
it seems fun to me.

O_o What happened to enemies once they die?... Evaporation?? I haven't seen anything like this since the days of all those lame Doom rip-offs. Guncon or no, this appears to be a little too trite for the amount of money they're asking. I am disappointed.

so , basically avoid the fps mode of the game at all cost lol. But the arcade mode should be perfect though

depends how finished the code is - if this was taken while they were working on it the video could look very little like the finished game. However if this is the finished product then the developers want that new guncon sticking somewhere intimate

This is just one of the modes in the game, hence the title 'FPS MODE', there is still the arcade mode. So if an arcade port is what you were expecting you can stop you worried cries of disapointment because the video above is just one part of the game, the whole game ISN'T like that...
