Haze release gets cloudy, pushed to next year

Looks like the somewhat-exclusive PS3 shooter Haze is being delayed. According to a statement by Ubisoft today, they revealed that the game will arrive in Q4 of their fiscal calendar, which spans January-March of next year (fiscal years make little sense, no?). If Unreal Tournament doesn't successfully arrive on PS3 this year, it means that PS3's two big "exclusive" FPS games for this year will have gone by the wayside.

huh, thats weird cause they said it would be released in december, the 14th or something i cant remember. But im really sure that that's what the guys at threespeech said...

That IS weird...its listed as Dec 4 in American retailers. With Mass Effect and Bioshock looking so hot, its gonna be a bad XMAS for Sony if their big exclusives get pushed away...

What's the word on the exclusivity status for Haze? IGN still lists is as multi-platform. Is it a ps3 exclusive or not?

big corporations start their fiscal year in april (after paying all those corporate taxes)

so quarter 4 is technically december 30th-march 31st

wasn't that jazzed for it anyways (too many other games to get through!), but maybe coming out a little later will give it a better window of opportunity...
...right around Killzone2 and MGS4...

It was up earlier (like a couple of hours ago!) as the 14/12/07.... http://www.play.com/Games/PlayStation3/4-/1022791/Haze/Product.html still have it down for the 14th but for how long? Damn & I was looking forward to this game....

I was never really thrilled with Haze or UT3. They're just run of the mill shooters (they look good, but still...).

Come on, we just got the amazing Uncharted, R&C, Heavenly Sword, along with Assassin's Creed and more, I'm pretty happy (and busy and broke) with the games this holiday.

I have never corrected anyone on anything as far as grammar and stuff like that as I can't talk right for shit. But the "shouldn't that be Q1, Ubi?" is wrong. It's Q4 like they said as it is their FISCAL Year not CALENDAR Year. The US military uses the stupid fiscal year to. Ours is from October to September. Meaning our Q4 is from Jul-Sep.

As for Haze...who really gives a damn with all the stankin ass shooters coming to the PS3. I think we are good on shooters for awhile. Besides with as nice as COD4 is they better want the most polished game they can possibly do or it will get clowned hard.

Umm ... gamingeek I don't know what your talking about. I'm sure if people aren't going to be playing Uncharted there playing Ratchet and Clank and if there not playing those then there is also;

Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Assassains Creed (spelling?), Call of Duty 4, SingStar!!!(For EU this year), and many many others.

I was looking really forward to Haze and I hope it doesn't get delayed.

Personally I do agree with what you're saying COD4 is more than enough to fill mys shooting needs ATM. However I really am hoping to see the PS3 make huge gains on the competition both in terms of hardware and software sales and there are tons of FPS fans out there that would have gobbled these titles up. It's a little disheartening when Midway goes to great lengths to meke it seem like UT3 is coming this year and then promptly yanks it right before it is due to be released.

I don't know how reliable the info is, but on EBGames' website, Unreal Tournament is listed for a December 10th release and Haze is slated for December 4th. Don't chew me out if the info is wrong, but hey, the listed Uncharted as coming out November 16th and they weren't wrong about that. Who knows? I just now started playing both Resistance and Assassin's Creed, so I'm pretty much set for the rest of the year.

Gamestop are not always accurate on dates, they went back and forth on the Uncharted date, I would not bank on the dates for UT3 and Haze until we know more.

This is a false rumour according to the official HAZE website it is still due for its December 14th 2007 release..i stumbled across this when i was given the news that possibly the ps3's best exclusive of this year...it was all just a rumour..check the link and read the second and seventh posts its from the uk forum editor..thnx guys.
